What would you pick? preferred room at POP or standard at CBR? I want to stay at CBR again- last time we had preferred- but my daughter is going and can't afford it. I'm just afraid we're going to end really far from the food court and we'll have a 21 month old and want to be like in Jamaica if if could. Would you take the chance or just go with POP? Thanks.:confused3

I would pick preferred at Pop. We did preferred at CBR and are doing preferred at Pop this time. We like Pop better. CBR was nice but we just prefer Pop. I guess it's a matter of personal opinion, have you stayed at Pop before?

Well, if you already know that you like the CBR, I'd go with the CBR. Even the walk from our non-preferred room(s) was about 5 minutes to Old Port Royale. You already know that there are bus stops at each resort village so you won't have to walk far to a bus stop.

Oh, I also forgot to mention that you will probably need a fridge since you'll have a 21 month along. You'd have to rent one at Pop but they are standard in a CBR room.

That probably would be nice. We've stayed at other values before and it was fine but we checked out POP a few weeks back when we were there and it seemed like soooo many kids everywhere. Maybe I'm getting old!! The only issue is my daughter affording it. With standard at CBR it would be about $300 more- which might be ok for her financially. I'm torn between what she can do and what we would like. I can't afford to make up the difference for her either as I'm already paying for 4 people in our room. POP would be fine- just want opinions.

I haven't stayed at CBR, but I can tell you everything is a quick walk at Pop. After having stayed in 1 bdrms @ VWL and BWV I was a bit nervous about staying at Pop. I was pleasantly surprised and am looking forward to going back again in Feb!

I would pick CBR.

Nothing wrong with Pop but if I were to stay there I would not get a preferred room. Just the standard rooms seem to work out much better for us.

I say go with what your daughter can easily afford...if she's stressing about money, it's not going to fun for any of you (especially if you can't afford to treat her to the difference in resort cost.) And if you're all spending less on the resort, you'll have a little extra to splurge on adult beverages, souvenirs or table service restaurants. Those little extras can go a long way towards making a Value resort more reasonable.:thumbsup2

Pop is plenty fun (and more so, for the kiddos.) Also, for the adults, it's a hoot seeing all the nostalgic icons & doing the remember-whens. We thought Pop was pretty fun...and we're going back there in January.

I have stayed at both and I prefer Pop.
I have stayed at Pop 3 times now.
I have done preferred rooms on my last two trips to Pop. I love the 60's bldg by the main pool. You are just so close to the main bldg. :woohoo:
CBR is nice but, it is just to huge a resort for me. :headache:

Eeek! You'll have 4 people in your room? That would really help me make my decision since the rooms at the CBR are larger than those at Pop. Will you be spending much time in the room?

I have a thought.....you say you have 4 people in your room. Are there more than two adults in your room? If so, you'll be paying, if I am remembering correctly, $15 extra per night for each additional adult.

If you have one extra adult and you are already paying that $15 extra per night...how about this....would that adult be willing (and would your daughter be okay with) to stay in your daughter's room? If so, then you could pay $15 per night towards your daughter's room. That would cut back on her nightly rate and you wouldn't be out any real money since you were already paying that amount.

Of course, that wouldn't work if you only have two adults in your room.

Does that make any sense? It did in my wee little mind.

Having stayed both POP when my son was 15 months and a split stary at ASMov and CBR a year later, I would choose CBR hands down. Beautiful grounds, great pool and nice beaches and gardens to admire when not in the parks. Granted, a non-preferred room is far from the food and pools, but the grounds are nice to view while walking there. POP food court was the best of all three, but overall would stay at CBR. Enjoy!

Honestly? Given that CBR is a stretch for your daughter and Pop is so compact especially compared to CBR, I'd save even more money and go with standard at Pop. The difference isn't more than 500 feet, but the savings on the room rate will pay for the refrigerator that will benefit her.
