But one of the pools on my first cruise, on the MS Mermoz, a French cruise line, was clothing optional. And MOST of the people there without clothing SHOULD have been clothed.

We felt the same way when we visited Orient Beach in St. Martin. Dh says the people you want to see naked all have clothes on but the ones you'd rather not see are parading up and down the beach.

If any members of your party are sufficiently animated and have only 3 fingers you can go without pants. But shirts are still required.

Not officially.

You may encounter a few souls going topless. We did on one visit. Nobody batted an eyelid. The Lady CM trudging along with the drinks took their order and did not mention it at all. Don't know what the official policy and it does not bother me at all. It is a little out of the ordinary for Disney but hey Castaway Cay is not the USA.
Good reason though for people not to smuggle their "16 but looks 18" kids onto the beach. Might scar them for life. It was not a pretty sight.Now people who smoke or talk at parade ground volumes about work while they are on that beach really bother me. But thats another story.

Based on what I have been told, most of the people who comply with the undress code at nude beaches are people that would be far better off clothed. Even at Castaway Cay, we have seen so many people's swim attire that makes you believe that these folks have never owned a mirror. Trying to squeeze 250 pounds into 5 ounces of material is really asking a lot of the material. This goes for both sexes, especially wrinkly old guys (of which I am a full-fledged member!) who feel the need to wear speedo's/thongs that belong on the buff bodies of the much younger. Hmmm...it might be safer to stay at the family beach

I don't know for sure but from what I witness on the family beach I would say that DCL's policy is no topless bathing or sunning....I have seen a woman on the family beach go topless one cruise and a CM did come up to her and tell her to put a top on. Don't know if it is a different policy for the adult beach but I would doubt it. I think maybe a CM was just too shy to mention it to them.
