The Official 2010 MNSSHP- Tips,Tricks and a few Treats !

I want to wait to buy tickets when we get closer to see what the weather is like. But my dh is upset that we haven't bought tickets yet. We're going the week of the 16th so I doubt they'll sell out. I can't decide, maybe it's worth buying them now to make sure dh doesn't loose his mind worrying about missing the party!

What do most of you do? Buy now or wait?

I would buy now - you won't know what the weather is until the day before - and even that is a little flakey sometimes. Long range forecasting is not reliable. I bought mine and keep my fingers crossed - you can go to guest services and change the date if there is a problem - before the party that is. I think they might give refunds for total washouts, but not if you can do most everything except see the parade and fireworks because of the weather.

me and my DH have been 2x and we're adults and YES we trick or treat! that is why we like it, b/c we get to be kids again and we always loved going trick or treating. Just make sure you dress up!

If we're not dressed up, can we still trick or treat?

TIA!!!

I have to agree about the weather. In Feb we were in Orlando and every day the weather channel would say one thing and the weather would do something completely different. We bought ours already and will just keep our fingers crossed as well.

Thank you. I bought the tickets. The CM told me they were non-transferable so we'll cross our fingers! I feel fortunate we are able to go. Definitely not something we'll be able to do every time we visit Disney. it's certainly a lot of money but I'm excited to see the kids trick o treat Disney style :goodvibes.

Who's in the 40's??? This gal!!! 47 days!! It is truly a sickness!:lmao:

Oh, us too girl!!! We're down to 48 and are so excited!!! When are you guys going to the Halloween Party? We're going on the 30th for sure and hoping to go on the 21st as well. :cool1:

I totally love it. We are going on 9-21. I am "Dagobah Luke", DS2 is Yoda (in a backpack on my shoulders), and DW is Leia (she is so wonderful to me).

That is AWESOME! DD was Yoda last year. Wish we'd thought of the "Dagobah Luke"! Have fun! :goodvibes

53 days here and eagerly awaiting reports from the first party!

I'm still working on our costumes. We're going as the Flynn-Fletchers. I've got to dye a pair of shorts purple for DH and I need to find a yellow sweatervest. The kid's outfits are all set. I even found a pair of Phineas shoes for DS!

We can't wait!

We are down to 35 days!! I am a MNSSHP newbie but we are going to the first party! Its our last night there so it looks to be a great ending to our trip! pirate:

72 days for us. DGF - DS and myself :sad1: it is counting down.
48 days until DS learns he is going to WDW for his first time. Birthday Surprise.:banana::banana:

Man, the suspense is a killer.

You certainly can! DH was not in a costume last year, but still collected a fair bit of candy.

Good to know, because there is no way that DH will dress up and DS said he wouldn't up until yesterday, but after reading this thread he started talking like he might. We'll see, but I wasn't going to dress up by myself!

Just bought my MNSSHP tickets.. Can't wait.. I hope its worth all they hype i read and hear about. I am reading a lot of opinons about it! Soon enought i will know for myself.. Thanks for all the advise... HAPPY PLANNING TO ALL!!

Best of luck! :wizard:

I surprised my DS last year about his bday trip and he found out about it 3 days before we left. I kept my big mouth shut for almost a whole year too! :rotfl:

sorry if this has been asked but is there a thread listing what DISers will be at what party? thanks

this will be our first September trip and our first MNSSHP:cool1:

What type of clothing options do they have?

I've seen t-shirts mentioned.

What about a sweatshirt or hoodie?

I see that on September 30th, the date of our MNSSHP tickets that MK closes at 5:00 PM. Can you stay at the park the whole day and just stay for MNSSHP? Or do they make everyone leave at park closure. Or do you have to leave the park when it closes? Are any rides operating after the official park closure and before MNSSHP opens? Where would you eat dinner before the party begins? Are reservations necessary?

This MNSSHP is our first so appreciate your help, there are only adults in our party. Thanks.

Just checked the 30th and it says 7:00om close time. Might be a possiblity that if you were looking at your ten day forecast of dates you looked at AK by accident, it is the only park that closed that early. And is also the first park listed in the ten day rollout of park hours if you view it in that format.
:wizard:

We are going to eat dinner at 5:00 at Liberty Tree Tavern, to insure we are done before 6:30. I can not say if a reservation is truely needed, but I don't go anywhere with out one.
I would eat somewhere in the park. Not sure if you are looking for counterservice or table suggestions, but we love The Plaza and would highly recommend that, and it's not to bad if your paying out of pocket IMHO !
