Personally,I would:

Take the Wilderness Lodge bus from Epcot.

Take the boat from WL to Fort Wilderness.

Walk to HDDR from the FW boat Dock.


To return to POFQ:

Walk from HDDR to the FW boat Dock.

Take the boat to Magic Kingdom.

Walk from MK boat Dock to MK Bus Depot and board a POFQ bus.

I would take the monorail(I love to ride them) to TTC, then switch to the one to MK. Just steps away is the boat to Ft. Wilderness, which lets you off just steps from Pioneer Hall, home of the HDDR. Then boat back to MK, and bus to POFQ.

After the show and depending on if MK is still open they will have buses right outside the show to take you back to POFQ

If not, boat to MK and then back to POFQ

Walking from the front might be something like a mile (or more: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/fortwilderness.htm). The "Settlement Bus Stop" in the pic above is not where they drop you off; it is farther than that picture might imply. You would have to take internal transportation from the front, which is an extra hop. Walking from WL to HDDR could be closer, or about the same. Just wanted to clarify.

Having made pretty much this exact trip before, I second the bolded section of the quoted post. But I'd just take the boat from FW to MK after the show, and then get on the POFQ bus.

Getting from EPCOT to HDDR: If one were to take the EPCOT to TTC monorail, there is a transfer to the a) resort monorail loop or b) the MK ferry or c) the TTC-MK express monorail, followed by yet another transfer to a boat at either MK or CR. These transfers really increase the amount of time the trip takes. The bus to WL from EPCOT is by far quicker, and only involves the transfer of walking from the front of WL to the back of WL to catch the FW boat. At FW, the Hoop De Doo show is a very short walk from the boat dock.

If you like, there is even a path between WL and FW, though it is a long one, and not well lit after dark.

thank you all for your advise. I did forget to mention that we have a disabled daughter in a wheelchair traveling with us. Would that make a difference in your suggestions. Would a taxi if it is possible, be easier?

Buses are all wheelchair accessible, as (I think) are the boats between MK, WL and FW.

However, a taxi would require a wheelchair to be folded down, and they can only drop off at the front of FW, requiring another bus ride from the front to the back of FW where HDDR is.

You might inquire if a Taxi would be allowed to take you all the way back to HDDR.

Very good point, and I apologize for misleading the OP with my suggestion of taking the boat from WL to FW. I totally forgot this difference. That boat is a "Motor Launch" which is smaller and requires folding down wheelchairs and strollers. No ECV's whatsoever.

The "Cruisers" between MK and FW are much larger boats that can accommodate unfolded wheelchairs, strollers and even ECV's in most circumstances.

If the OP would prefer not to fold up DD's wheelchair, then I change my suggestion to: bus from EPCOT to WL, and then boat from WL to MK (just to make sure you get on one of the larger "Cruisers"), and then boat to FW. You might be able to stay on the same boat going from MK to FW, as I think it goes there before going back to WL.

Those ways would be quicker for sure, but I'm attempting to save the OP as much folding/unfolding of the wheelchair as possible. Using the MK/FW boat from WL means leaving the wheelchair open for the duration of that leg of the trip, while taking another bus from WL to FW, or the internal FW bus requires folding the chair down again.

I don't know how difficult that process is for the OP, but I'd personally consider that more difficult "work" than just pushing the wheelchair through WL and then waiting longer on the boat trip to stop at MK first before going on to FW.

It's not a matter of the boat trip stopping at MK, you have to get off of the WL boat at MK, then wait for a Fort Wilderness boat to arrive. They are no longer a shared trip.

Also, only ONE of the boats between Wilderness Lodge and MK is accessible, so if they just missed the large boat leaving Wilderness Lodge going to MK, it is a long wait for it to return.

99% of the Disney buses are accessible, so they don't need to "fold" the wheelchair. The wheelchair is loaded on the buses with a lift or ramp, then tied down.

Actually the day of Hoop Dee Doo (Fri) is flexable as far as parks. We are already doing 2 MK days for wishes in the evening (Mon & Weds.) We could switch and miss 1 evening of wishes IF coming from MK is alot easier than EP. We were thinking of doing AK that day instead if it was too difficult getting from EP. I also considered staying at the resort but that seems even more difficult getting to HDDR from POFQ.

Also her wheelchair is a stroller type wheelchair. Its a convaid pushchair. (Shes 13 and a bigger girl) It folds easily but the less work we have to do the better. I am more concerned with our trip back to POFQ. Our flight leaves early so we are going to the first show of HDDR so we can be back to our room early. The quick and easiest way back to POFQ would work the best for us.
We could only get the first show of HDDR on Fri, the evening before we leave or else I would try to get it a different night.

Any transportation to the Fort including taxi, means an internal bus inside the Fort.All transportation goes to the Outpost. The ONLY accessible transportation that drops near Pioneer Hall is the boat from MK.

Getting back to POFQ is a simple boat ride to MK, then a bus to POFQ. If Friday is a free day for you and you don't want to go to MK again, then perhaps a partial day at Epcot, then take a leisurely monorail ride to MK, perhaps stopping at some of the monorail resorts to look around and take pictures, then take the boat from MK dock to the Fort. All days do not have to be park days or "your" resort days. There is lots of relaxation and lots to see at other resorts!!

To sum up everyones suggestions, give yourself a couple of hours.
It sounds like one of those "you can't get there from here".

That is one of the most confusing threads I have read, I did HDDR once and had a car and even then it wasn't a simple thing, they had a sign for Pioneer Hall parking, but it was nowhere near where the internal bus stop was and there was no one around to ask, we drove around for a while till we saw some other people and followed them and they didn't know where they were going.
