Boo to me! - Solo Halloween PTR 10/22-29 - Link to TR posted!

Yeah...that's the thing I just don't understand about living in the US. For such a developed country, your public health services are...well...lets just leave it like that.

Hope you feel better soon...off to find my PTR!

ps. Cool smileys!!

I honestly don't understand it, either. Even now, my insurance is almost $200 a month just for me, not including my dental and vision. The only positive thing I've found was a family planning program for Illinois women that offers free services if you're low income. I got Implanon through it, completely free, and don't have to worry about birth control until 2013. I also get free paps through it because I enrolled in the program before I started this job (although I think I'd still qualify, but not sure).

I like that smiley :) When I saw it, I was like "Oh, I can use that in my TR when I'm talking about dinner with Ruthie and Sharon!" :lmao:

Soooooooooo...

I haven't yet made it to the dentist. I have an appointment on Monday at 1:30, but I'm almost positive that they'll just do a brief exam and prescribe me antibiotics for the infection that I know I have. My mom actually gave me a bottle of amoxicillin that her dentist prescribed her and I've been taking it. Her dentist was mine for fourteen years, but I can't see her anymore because my insurance won't cover her :guilty: But yeah, at least I have the appointment. I also have to make an optometrist appointment. On my way into work today, I walked past the one office I'd decided to try (I don't have a "set" one with my HMO, I can go to any office that accepts my insurance) and they looked a little too hoity toity for me, so I'm going to look for another one. Then again, I'm used to having my eye doctor be at Sears :lmao:

I also did a little bit of trip shopping today!

I ordered this laptop bag from eBags. I like the style, it's big enough for my widescreen laptop, and it also has extra space in it for other things. I particularly like that the shoulder straps are longer than some of the other bags I've seen.

I also ordered this from eBags so that I could not only have a park bag, but free shipping :lmao: I like purple and plaids and stuff, so this looked like a fun bag :) I also like that the inside has two water bottle holders.

On my way to work, I stopped at Dollar Tree and picked up some trip things. I got a loofah with a suction cup on it, a bottle of 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, a small-ish bottle of vanilla bean body wash, a stick of deodorant, a bottle of hand soap, and a laundry bag. I also bought a box of tissues, but those were for work because we never have any at the desk :lmao:

And I made a payment on my trip :woohoo: It was only $150, so I'm down to about $650, but I didn't want to spend more and possibly not have enough to cover the dentist visit on Monday. My next payments on the trip will be whatever's left of my paycheck on August 13 after paying another obligation and buying a ticket for the 26th party, most of my paycheck on August 27, and then if there's any surplus left over (which is likely), I'm going to put a check in the mail on September 5, since my next check after that is September 10, so by the time it gets to Disney, the money will be in my account

I made one minor change to one of my dining reservations. I'm going to Raglan Road on the 24th and originally, my reservation was at 12:30pm and I decided to just check and see if there was anything earlier, and there was! So now I'm going to Raglan Road at 11:45 :rotfl: It's only 45 minutes earlier, but I think it'll be better because then that way, I can spend a little more time wandering around Downtown Disney before heading to MK for the party. I'm probably going to take the boat over to POR and then catch a bus to MK.

So, yeah. Moving along :)

In twelve weeks and twelve hours, I'll be on a plane to Disney! :yay::yay::yay::yay:

I'm really happy with the laptop bag. Everything else I found for that was either waaaaay out of my price range or really fugly or really plain or didn't fit my laptop. I also really like the purple bag :) It's cute :teeth:

I don't think they'll give me a painkiller, since I'm not in pain (that Aleve can't control, anyway), so I'm sure it'll just be an antibiotic and a later appointment for whatever they need to do to fix the problem. I'm looking at sandals right now and might buy a pair, but I'm not sure yet :confused3

I really like that laptop bag! If I traveled with my laptop more I would definitely want to invest in something like that.

I love your idea of taking the boat over to POR and taking a bus to MK. I loved being able to take the boat to DTD when we stayed at POFQ on our honeymoon. :cloud9:

God, I travel with my laptop all the time. It goes with me just about everywhere and my old bag was starting to drive me crazy, so I thought it was time to get a new one :lmao:

Well, the other thing I'm thinking about is taking the bus to the Contemporary or the Grand or something and then hopping on the monorail. I haven't decided yet. I'll figure it out later :)

So I've been pretty happy with my reservations for the most part. Except one. I keep going back to my ADR for The Plaza and reconsidering it, since there's pretty much only one thing on the menu I'd get (a cheeseburger) and I don't know if I'd want it. I wound up canceling it and going with Liberty Tree, even though I'll be eating there the night before :lmao: I figure they have more than one item that I'd be interested in, and it's also a different menu for lunch than it is for dinner. Plus, I really want to try their pot roast. I've heard good things about it :)

I can't wait to get my new bag :) I want to throw the one I have away. It was second-hand anyway and only cost $3.

My teeth are doing okay right now. The amoxicillin my mom gave me has reduced the swelling considerably, so the pressure has gone down in my gums as well. Even poking my tongue over there, it feels relatively normal again. So yeah, the appointment's Monday. Hopefully it'll go well :)

Those bags are so cute! :cool1:

I'm glad you're finally getting to the dentist and that the antibiotic is working! :goodvibes

I think going to LTT is a good choice! The pot roast is the reason I'm going there for lunch and not dinner! :rotfl:

Glad you're going to the dentist Monday Dana...that's a LONG time to be dealing with that :scared1:

As far as LTT wonderful the food is great ALL meals the only thing that could possibly make it better is to make it a character meal again :sad2: falls under the topic of so many things in WDW "If it ain't broke don't fix it"

I can't wait to get them :lovestruc

Yeah, I've needed to go for a very long time, but the lack of insurance makes it difficult. I was uninsured for almost four years.

The pot roast and the ooey gooey toffee cake are why I'm going :) I also want to try their fried cheese, since I :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc cheese :lmao:

Oh, I know, but I was uninsured for about four years and, before now, was making less than $8 an hour. It's a little difficult to get intensive dental care done when you have no insurance and are barely making enough money to pay the bills you already have, you know? But yeah, I'm getting it taken care of, that's all that matters.

Yeah, they should've left it as a character meal. I know they stopped it right around the time I left the company. Does anyone know why they stopped it? It didn't really make sense, and even a lot of the CMs I knew were confused as to why they stopped it.

I hope the dentist is able to help you quickly! Mouth pain can be one of the worst things possible to happen! If your mouth hurts, you whole body can get blech. Here's so pixie dust for your appointment!

The bags are cute!!!

They should be able to. I'm already taking antibiotics, so the infection should be at least partially gone by the time I see them. I absolutely hate mouth pain :( I don't know what they'll do to it, but I really don't care, as long as they fix it :lmao: It's one of my rear teeth, so even if they have to pull it, I'll deal with it.

I like my bags  eBags has an awesome selection :lmao:
