Now don't laugh, but DH and I are so excited about the Eat to the Beat Concerts that are on while we are there.

We get to see Taylor Dayne, Kool & the Gang and Sugar Ray. How exciting. Live music is one of our favourite things in the whole world and exposing our children to more live performances will really make this a trip highlight.

Bummer that we are missing Howard Jones, Rick Springfield and Boys to Men but we'll be happy with who we got.

And I've been reading some trip reports about the food and wine festival, my husband and I are going to be in foodie heaven. We love food, especially all different types and the spicier the better so we are setting aside a budget so we can do an around the world tasting, oh and it would be rude not to try their matching beverages right :rotfl2:.

We didn't book the trip for the festival but now we are so excited to be a part of it.

Anyone else going to be there for the Festival?

I'm trying not to laugh!

I'm more interested in the FOOD....I can leave the alcoholic drinks. So, all of you Aussies going in September, please provide an update on the BEST things to eat at the F&W. I'm not planning on booking in to any of the special events; just tasting my way around the world.

I LOVE the Eat to the Beat Concerts. I can't wait to "Celebrate" with Kool and the Gang this year. And last year it was so much fun to sing "We Are Family. Disney is the Place to Be" along with Sister Sledge.
I also like trying all the new food, but where we differ is that I don't like spicy food.

Someone on the Dis just shared this link with me that shows images of what the American Gardens Theatre looks like which is a great help for me, since I'm such a visual chick.

There are apparently 3 shows and the hours for the concerts are 5:15pm,6:30 and 7:45pm. Apparently the first show is usually the most crowded and if it's a popular group locals will be standing in line hours before the first show.

Somehow I think I'll be safe with Taylor Dayne, Kool & the Gang and Sugar Ray :rotfl2:. Doubt the lines will be too long and that suits me fine.

Do you think Taylor will let me get a picture together with her :lmao:

Over in the WDW Theme parks thread people are talking about the Food & Wine Festival and people drinking too much. The discussions are getting quite heated on both sides.

If only they knew how many Aussies were rocking up this year to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival, then they'd really have something to be nervous about :rotfl2:

Oh dear God, if only those Yankees knew what Aussies with a few too many drinks in them were like.....

:faint:

xxx

There is an Australian food stall at the F&W festival too. Lamingtons are on the dessert menu. Hope they are good, I think I will be trying one as I love lamingtons :woohoo:

I can't remember what else was on the menu. There was a barramundi meal. I do like to eat other food when overseas, I'm not one that seeks out my native food as thats half the fun of travelling is experiencing other countries foods. But in this case I will be visiting the Aussie food stand to see what it's like :thumbsup2

I'd LOVE to hear what an Aussie thinks of what they have.
So could you please try a Lamington for me. I know it would be forcing it on you but I would be ever so grateful :rotfl2:

They have had Lamb on the menu for a few years now :thumbsup2

I'm a bit like you. I don't do exotic. I love Italian food in Italy and French food in France...but only the 'normal' food :lmao: like Pizza and pasta and creme brulee and profiteroles!
