"Now That's What I'm Talkin' 'Bout!"- Our 1st DVC stay-May 2010-Wrap Up 9/23

Hey Leanne . I know I have been MIA for wayyyyy too long, but I am catching up now. I LOVE your photo shoot pictures :thumbsup2. They are so good and the girls are too cute in the hammock. I enjoyed our shoot last year.

I can totally sympathize with you about the teen groups. Last year we had some bad experiences with groups being rude and pushy. I can imagine how uncomfortable it made Joe with the girls dressed like that. I bet most of the fathers to these girls would have been very mad about how they were dressed. I think someone from Disney should have said something. It is hard to tell our kids what is appropriate and what isn't when they see large groups of people acting out and no one correcting them.

All caught up! The pics are absolutely stunning!! hope I get one around Christmas time! She did a great jpb but you guys are very photogenic!! 50 point add on-I need details. Thats what I would like to do-enough for another short trip a year!! Thanks for your sweet comments on FB-Avery is getting back to normal! Have fun at volleyball!

Yep, the tour groups were not expected and left a lot to be desired. I wish I could tell you that we witnessed just one or two episodes but it was almost nonstop. They must follow touringplans.com recommendations also. ;)

I agree it is hard to make yours behave when kids twice their age are acting like toddlers. :rolleyes1

How is the summer going for you all? It has been busy but REALLY fun around here. :goodvibes I'm under the weather today and headed to the doctor to get a shot this afternoon.

Hiya Mary! We are so glad that Avery is feeling better. We were worried there for a little bit. We are considering a 50 pt. add on....we could take another 4 day mini trip with them and they are offering the additional 50 like we got before. I am torn, with our big family trip coming up in November I don't know if I should buy now or wait until that is over....decisions, decisions.....

I hope you get a photopass and session also. You will really like it. I bet they would be so pretty that time of year. :goodvibes

So this morning started very early with a wake up call at 6am. Joe is OCD about getting to parks early and he was super excited to go back to Sea World so I think he was actually up before the call came in. The morning was uneventful and before we knew it we were seeing this...

We waited about 15 minutes for SW to open the parking gates. While we waited we laughed and laughed at the family in front of us. They must have gotten in and out of their car 20 times to get in the trunk and get out drinks and sandwiches. It was funny. We kept wondering when the last trip into the trunk was going to occur. Well I guess you had to be there but it was pretty funny.

Once we parked and made it inside we waited about 10 minutes for them to drop the rope and let us into the park. I had done my homework on the shows so I had an idea of what our touring plan would be. What I hadn't researched was the new ride Manta.

Once they dropped the rope, people were walking quickly over there. Of course we followed because we were wondering what we were missing. Joe rode first and LOVED IT! He told me I had to ride so I took a spin next. It was AWESOME! It is by far the best roller coaster we had ridden during the week. Here's a quick video Joe took while I was riding...hard to tell but you are actually staring at the ground when you ride this...they lift you backwards so your back is up towards the sun and all of your weight is resting on your chest on this rubber padded harness shaped like a manta ray holding you in. Just click on the picture...I think it will work...

While Joe was riding first, the girls and I went inside the adjacent aquarium to check things out...there were some beautiful scenes in here...

After both of us took our spin, we made our way over to see the Blue Horizon show. It was a great show filled with dolphins, birds (your favorite Mary!!), and lost of acrobats. It was a lot of fun and kept our attention with everything going on everywhere. Here are a few pics...

Next we went to check out the Cyde and Seymore take Pirate Island show. This show was really cute. Before the show started there was a Mime making fun of people as they entered (behind their backs). He was hilarious and definitely helped the time pass. We had found some shady seats for this one so we weren't melting too bad.

Here are a few pics...

After this show we decided it was time for some chow. There was a barbecue place that smelled fantastic so we went there. Here's a pic of my plate..

It tasted as good as it smelled which was a pleasant surprise!

I am afraid that's all I can get in at the moment but up next is the Shamu show Believe and a some other info on the other attractions Sea World has to offer! Hope I still have some readers...sorry for the delayed update everyone. Lindsey is doing some volleyball clinics and I volunteered to coach so we have been a bit busy. When we aren't doing that we are shopping for back to school stuff (we start back Aug. 3) or I am running at the park reaching for my 5k goal. I am on week 5 of C25K...doing a 20 minute run tonight. My first since our trip. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend if I don't check in between now and then!

Love the SW trip! Can't wait to see Shamu. AUG 3 for back to school??? YIKES :scared1: Our summer is flying right by.

You have a great weekend too! Thanks for sharing your trip with us :goodvibes

Woo, Sea World!!! OMG the Manta looks awesome! It is funny I am saying that considering I was so afraid to try RNRC at first  but I have gotten a lot braver since then. haha It looks kind of similar to the Superman ride they have at Six Flags...that was a lot of fun. And I love the water effect when the manta gets close to the water.

The Blue Horizons show was awesome and I remember the mime before Clyde and Seamore. Hilarious. :lmao:

Oh, and awesome about Lindsey doing volleyball clinics. I used to play in high school and loved it. Hope she is enjoying it!

SW day looks awesome, isn't Manta the best??? Love that coaster!! SOOO much of a different feeling. Glad everything is going okay, wish we could meet up in Oct too, but I'm staying away from columbus day weekend!! Talk about crazy!!! LOL But, it'll be fun, I'm ready for some fun....and will probably need it at that point.

After Disney... Seaworld is my fave park! Luv your dolphin pins

I love SW...we also did Discovery Cove in 2002 when we went and it was then that Jasmine decided she was going to be a marine biologist....funny how that isn't even in the forefront of her mind now!

Next summer, we really want to do SW, and IoA, we love the roller coasters! I can't wait to ride Manta!!!!

Can't believe the girls go back to school on Aug 3....the summr is flying by:rolleyes1

We just got back from Sea World San Diego so it was fun to read your update. Think I will skip Manta:scared1: I did see that show with the birds-are you impressed?:) If it is one thing I hate as much as birds it is mimes followed closely by clowns!! Accckkkk:scared1::scared1: We also had bbq for lunch!
You guys are busy busy. I may have to check out that add on-I really want some more points! Great job on the couch to 5K!! Your girls start back to school 2 weeks before mine! Jeff and I are headed to Vegas for 2 nights tomorrow-have a great weekend!!

Your photoshoot pictures turned out awesome...you have such a beautiful family!

Love love love the sea world pictures...makes me want to go back even more

Great update! DH and I went to Sea World in April during our couple trip. How does Lindsey like Volleyball? I did it in Junior high and High school so when I saw it available at Emily's school I told her she should do it. She made the team and LOVES it.

Wonderful pictures on the photoshoot! So lucky to have won that.

We went to seaworld last year and really enjoyed it. Manta wasn't opened yet, looks like fun.

Hey Leanne!

The pictures from the PP session are fantastic!! What a great prize to have won. :goodvibes

Great beginning to SW--the shows sound great.

Wow, you are going to be busy this last week before school! Schools here do not start until after Labor Day, so they have a month left to go.

We love Sea World!! Sounds like you had a good morning-- we think Clyde and Seymour is hysterical!!
I love roller coasters but the style of Manta is sooo scary! There's a Superman roller coaster at a Six Flags near us that's the same way-- I felt like I was going to fall out constantly! How secure is Manta??

Sea World looks amazing! Definitely somewhere that we will have to visit one of these days. Manta looks really fun! DH and I love coasters, but I don't know if he would be up for one where he was suspended like that. I would, though! :thumbsup2

Hope volleyball is going well!

Hey Leanne! Doing a bit of catching up around the Dis today. Your MK day on that Wednesday was also our MK day. From reading, we were in the same place at the same time until you left MK for the day. It's so crazy that we never saw each other. I was even at the pool that same night with the boys when they showed Tarzan.

YAY for winning a prize at WHW. We've never gone to one. I always remember too late. We ate at Coral Reef that trip as well. Bryan and I had the same meals as you and Joe. I had the swordfish as well. It was soooooo good. The risotto that accompanied it was so yummy.

The pics from the photoshoot came out wonderfully! Glad you had a wonderful trip this month, but it certainly sucks to hear about the tour groups.

Bryan and I keep saying we need to take the boys to Sea World, but we never get around to it. Maybe one of these days.
