:rotfl2::rotfl2: Ya'll are killing me with the band comments! I tried the trombone in the 8th grade but it got too boring. Definitely have a respect for those marching bands, though. Only takes one goof-ball to trip up to take out a whole line of them! :lmao:

Just watched a video on the company's Disney partner site...about Siemens/Sylvania/Disney and Lighting...allot of the footage while people are talking are of "...it's a small world" in Disneyland.

Have to say that the DL version blows the one at MK out of the water...not that it would take much...but then I didn't have to listen to that song while I was watching the video either. :confused3

Absolutely - name the date (let me know far enough in advance, and I can usually even get hearings moved). How much time are you planning to devote to KC BBQ? I don't know any BBQ places that are open for breakfast, but if we need to cover more restaurants than we've got time to get to, we can always have your family over to the house, and we can just bring the "Tour de KC BBQ" to us. party:

Let's see:
Sausage from Hayward's
Beef Brisket from Gates'
Baked beans, beef ribs and lamb ribs from Jack's Stack
Burnt ends from L.C.'s
Oklahoma Joe's pork ribs . . .

That sounds like quite a feast! I'll let you know in a year or two when we plan on swinging by. :thumbsup2

I finally have some company!!!!! :thumbsup2

prattpak & carrollchristoph....

Where are you guys from? I am in the Waterbury area.

Yes. Yes it does.

You know as much as that poor attraction gets ridiculed and belittled, it certainly can be thanked, too. Since it, along with Mr. Lincoln and the COP appearing at the 64'65 World's Fair in NY certainly helped Walt determine that property on the East Coast would be a viable destination. BUT - it also blows my mind that the very same imagineers who helped Walt smack the ball right out of the park at that World's Fair, and designed that excellent version of IASW that sits in Anaheim (after the WF it was dismantled and shipped back to CA where it was then reassembled in Anaheim)... then went on to design a 3rd rate (not even 2nd rate) sister version for Orlando. It's a shame really. For all of it's quirkiness (and that annoying song), it really should have been a much better version in Orlando. Oh well.

Oh and - you should really see it at Christmas-time with the holiday overlay - turing it into It's a Small World Holiday. Fabulous. Wonderful. And that annoying song is minimized, transformed into Jingle Bells & Deck the Halls. Thousands and thousands of sparkling lights. Absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to see it again this Christmas. I do have lots o' pictures of IASWH in my Nov/Dec 09 TR (link below) if you are interested.

Oh look...only 46 Days!!!!:woohoo:

I'm right there with ya... we'll be eating in Epcot on that Tuesday, as I believe you are as well. I think that should be our meeting location. We'll talk as it gets closer though.

;)
Hi my name is Kevin and I was a band geek.:thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

Hi Kevin… I’m only on step two, how far have you gotten. :rotfl:

As a former Athlete---I was also the QB in high school (Where we weren't that good and I spent a lot of time running for my life, and also handing the ball off to a future NFL guy), as well as a soccer player--I always liked the band...and my girlfriend was a band geek (No Band Camp Comments:headache:). I thought it was a blast to have them going in the stands...:banana:

Band Geeks were always respected with us:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Now, the flag corps....:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Wow, band training camp sounds about as brutal as two-a-day football practices.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Ya'll are killing me with the band comments! I tried the trombone in the 8th grade but it got too boring. Definitely have a respect for those marching bands, though. Only takes one goof-ball to trip up to take out a whole line of them! :lmao:

Thanks for the support. It’s actually greatly appreciated.

Of course every program is run differently, but in general, the kids end up doing a great deal of physical work. My DS is a Trombone player, but in the fall he plays Baritone Bugle (think of it as a ten-pound trumpet on steroids). So, from late July through early November he spends an average of 4 to 5 hours every day marching (often backwards and blind) in the Carolina sun while holding a ten pound weight above his shoulders (at a constant 100’ angel), while trying to play fairly complex music very fast and very loud from memory and make sure he ends up in the right place at the right time. Honestly is wears me out watching him do it. Without question, the boys on the ball team certainly take far more of a pounding, but the kids in the band often have as much long-term stamina as most of the athletes.

OK, I’ve ramble on enough about this (I promise… For now…)

Epcot would be a great place to meet...maybe if it's early enough I can take you into Spaceship Earth through the back door...and you can visit Siemens Base 21 as my guest???

I believe I had Don drooling over that place when I posted Pictures of it in my 2009 TR. :lmao:

I just spent the last hour HOWLING at Despicable me....I was dying.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

You guys were right, I give it two thumbs up...

Now I know why I despise the SEC so badly!:rotfl2:

Since you put the laughing icon there ...:thumbsup2

We own at AKV, SSR & VGC. I'd like to add VWL to the list as well, but we haven't found the right resale contract yet. I've inquired about going direct, but a) no incentives, and b) no inventory in our UY now...so we wait. But that's okay.

We have SSR and I want to own at BLT so that we can do one vacation at the resort and one vacation at the theme parks. I screwed up my UY. When we 1st did DVC, we planned on going in October or December, so I bought a June UY resale. Now, we want to do October and April (Spring Break week), and I wish I had a September or October UY. The only thing I know to do is sell the one and buy another UY. Is there any other way? Or, I could go with two UYs, but don't really want to do that.

Band Geeks were always respected with us:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

In High School, my mom did not want me to play football because she thought I would be hurt. Instead, she wanted me to play the flute in band. (I can read music and play the piano.)I told her that playing the flute would get me hurt a lot more often than playing football. So, I settled for soccer and tennis.

I was looking up tips and things to help with keeping my lawn green in the summer with minimal rain (HOT and humid summers in KY) and I was looking at a post that talked about fertilize tips and this is what I found...... at the bottom in large bold letters got me to :lmao: See what you think.

Here is the link to the tips: http://www.thegreedybrain.com/LawnCareTips/fertilizer.htm incase you think i'm kidding.

Fertilizer Tips:

Your lawn needs to be healthy in order to resist pests and shade out weeds. The secret of having a healthy green lawn lies in providing it with sufficient nutrients as part of your lawn care routine.

Well fed lawns are stronger and have a deeper root system. Heat and drought are more survivable if your grass is hearty before the drought hits.

Lawn fertilizers are the delivery system that provide the necessary nutrients for your lawn to be healthy and grow strong.

Buy the highest quality lawn fertilizer you can afford. The results will be far better than the cheap product and you will stand a lesser chance of burning your lawn.

The ingredients in the fertilizer will be printed on the bag and are listed as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium:

Nitrogen is needed for healthy green growth and regulation of other nutrients.

Phosphorus helps proper roots and seeds develop and resist disease.

Potassium is also important in root development and disease resistance.

In almost every case you will be looking for a slow release fertilizer because a slow release feeds the lawn over a longer period of time and is far less likely to burn the lawn. The label on the package will state if product is a slow release or quick release.

Before purchasing your lawn fertilizer, read the instructions on the bag carefully or ask someone at the store for help. A neighbor that has had particularly green grass over the years will likely be more than happy to tell you what product he uses and how.

Remember, when you calculate your lawn’s dimensions to subtract the area of your home.

If you over apply the fertilizer you could well end up with a very embarrassing burned white lawn!
Err on the side of caution when calculating your application.

Dry, hot weather can make your lawn turn brown and go dormant if you are not following a strict watering routine. If your lawn has gone dormant make sure NOT to fertilize it when it is in this condition. If you haven't done so lately, (see the label) fertilize your lawn lightly when it begins to recover and turn green, after the rain returns. This will provide the nutrients it needs for a faster recovery.

Remove dog dishes; chew toys, kid’s toys, and leaves etc. from your lawn before you begin your application.

Use a high quality “broadcast” spreader with an accurate flow control setting (a drop spreader can have a higher chance of burning your lawn if you’re not experienced with the spreader).

Fill the spreader on the driveway so as not to accidentally drop excess fertilizer or a clump on the lawn – (guaranteed to leave a burn mark).

Apply fertilizer to dry grass, and read the package as to whether you are to water immediately after applying or let it sit dry for a day or so.

Apply half of the calculated and measured amount of fertilizer in one direction then apply the remaining fertilizer in the opposite direction so as to make a cross pattern. This will ensure even coverage and help prevent burning from too much overlap as well as help to cover any missed spots.

If you have any fertilizer left over you should store it in a cool dry place.

Wash and lubricate the spreader after you are finished using it.

Wash yourself after using fertilizer (lubrication should not be required).

Note: It is not recommended to use leftover lawn fertilizer on trees, shrubs, or plants, it was formulated for your lawn and you will surely need it again for your lawn.

:eek::sad2:

Yeah, the only way to make a change is to sell the contract and purchase again. Of course, as you say, you could manage with two different contracts under two different years, but that to me would just a headache.

I also play the piano. Took lessons for 12 years. Taught my eldest for a year and a half...until I started to pull my hair out and got him another teacher. During Jr High and High School I was in numerous competitions and won several. Placed in several others. I played for the choir in both church and school. Was also in the choir and the ensemble, and there competed in and performed in a number of choir competitions and multi-choir musicales. I also was on the drama team acting for 5 of my years in that school (7-12 combined into one school), but was on the stage & props crew for all 6 years. I liked it when they combined the choir with the drama and we did some musicals (I played Captain Von Trapp the year we did "Sound of Music" and was numerous roles in "Fiddler on the Roof". I also competed in Speech Meets and on the Debate Team. And I did journalism for number of years, ending up as editor of our newspaper my sr. year and yearbook for a couple of years, and was the Layout Editor my sr. year. Lots of geeky things. BUT - I also played basketball, ran cross country and track, was a statistician for the girls volleyball team and I played baseball for a number of years too. Never did like football. Still don't. But that's okay. To each his own I say. You all can like it and talk about it to your hearts content... I'll just pipe in from time to time and talk Disney, my main love anyway, while you all are talking football.
