Boo to me! - Solo Halloween PTR 10/22-29 - Link to TR posted!

Cool! So we're doing Sunday night and Tuesday night together. I haven't worked out what I'll be doing on Monday and Tuesday during the day. I might come and hang out with you at MK on Monday and spend the day at Epcot on Tuesday....wonder if Ruthie is free?

Are your parents coming?
Depends on whether or not I have a job by then..hopefully yes..otherwise I would love to spend as much time as possible with you all :goodvibes (God willing I'll be working & it will be an overnight shift & will have the best of both worlds!)

Awesome! :) So am I gonna have to change the Tony's and Plaza ADR's to tables for 3? :lmao: Is this gonna be another debacle?

Yay, you added a day too!!! :cool1: I hope Le Cellier opens up for you! I tried to get an ADR there for the night we will be arriving now, but no such luck! :confused3

My new arrival night is an evening EMH at MK, so I'm likely going to do that. I'm thinking about just grabbing dinner at a quick service that night. I'm still hopeful for LeCellier, but I'm not holding my breath :)

I've been meaning to post these for a while, so I'm posting them now.

This is my laptop bag. I'm probably going to get a new one before the trip, though, because this one's kind of a pain in the neck. The strap is held on with caribiners, and my laptop is actually too big for the padded compartment, so I've been putting it in another compartment. I also want to get one that's checkpoint-friendly to cut down on my time in security.

P1050552.jpg

This is my planning folder. I couldn't find a Disney folder at four stores, so I stopped looking and just bought a cute one the day after I booked my trip, so that I could print things out and put it in them. So I bought this Yellow Submarine folder :lovestruc And yes, for those of you who are older than me, I know what Yellow Submarine is :flower3: My dad's a really big Beatles fan, so of course I've seen it :)

P1050553.jpg

My mom gave me this about a year ago. It's a small leather portfolio, and I plan on bringing it with me to take notes on my trip as it happens.

P1050554.jpg

My carry-on. I measured it, and it'll fit on whichever airline I choose to fly with. I really like this bag, and when I bought it, the purchase donated a childrens' book :teacher:

P1050555.jpg

And these are my tipping envelopes! I printed them out from Mouse For Less and put them together last night while I was watching Eddie Izzard. I have fall-themed Chip and Dale for my servers, and Winnie the Pooh for my housekeepers :) I need to print out one more of each because of extending my trip for a day, but I can do that at work tomorrow.

I'm also trying to decide which airline I want to go with. I normally fly with Southwest, but I've gained quite a bit of weight since the last time I flew them, and I'm worried that they'll either make me buy a second ticket (which I really can't afford) or kick me off the plane. American's policy for overweight passengers seems a little more lenient, but I'm really not sure, and I know that there's no way I'm going to lose that much weight (aka, 80+ pounds) in three months. So I don't know which way I'm going to go. I'm leaning more toward American, but I'm not sure. The price difference is only $30 plus the baggage charge.

OMG! You're going into full blown planning....and I was planning a step about planning in my PTR. I won't be able to look at your :wizard:princess: if I do my post (which I will anyway ;)).

I LOVE the Glee bag and your planning folder is groovy! You definitely need to hit England at Epcot for Beatles memorabilia.

I disappeared for 30 minutes tonight and went to Weight Watchers....you'll have to check my PTR to find out the result :rotfl2:!
So come on.....there's 3 months to go!

:lmao: Good to know :teeth: I'll take a look once you put it up :)

It's actually just a regular messenger bag, but with a Glee patch I pinned on there. I got the patch at Borders and never got around to properly sewing it on :rotfl: I'll take a look when I get to Epcot :) I think my dad would like something from there.

I'll look! :teeth: I'm gonna start riding my bike tomorrow. I haven't been able to for the last few days (there was a problem with the brakes and I had to wait for my dad to fix it). Hopefully I'll take some weight off, but I can't see taking off 80 pounds, you know? Not in that short a time. That's over 20 pounds a month. I think I might just go ahead and go with Southwest. At least with their policy, I know I won't be squished, you know?

I bought a nice box/set of mini Beatles magnets for about $13. There were 8 or 9 in the set. Might be perfect for you dad!

We have 15 weeks to go. That's an aim of 5 lbs per week. GO FOR IT! Eat right (small quantities and healthy snacks in between), exercise a little bit and who knows what's possible or not?

Honestly, I don't think a weight loss of five pounds a week is healthy. I think that borders on anorexic, but that's just me :confused3 Most doctors would recommend a weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week. Plus, my body's just bizarre. Between a weird metabolism, genetic factors, my own love of food, and a new method of birth control that tacked on another ten pounds, I don't see myself losing five pounds a week. As it is, I typically only eat once a day (yay crazy schedules) and I've still managed to gain weight.

Yeah...but think about it! If you follow the accepted weight loss per week, in 15 weeks, you can lose 15 - 30 lbs!

I've read some research that shows that people that don't regularly eat during the day, their bodies think that they are starving...so the body hangs on to all the calories....

BTW - I'm lucky if I manage to lose 1 or 2 pounds a month!

FWIW---you work nights and you said you typically only eat once a day..as a long time graveyard worker I fell into that same trap....you're snacking mindlessly at work ...yes you are I KNOW then you eat either on way home or at home then bed...your body is in starvation mode & holding on to every pound because it thinks "When will she feed me again?" Sharon is absolutely right. Don't give up hope & don't quit...think of me as your older sister and change things now at your age..you have to get the mindset "If not now then when?" it will only get that much harder every year that goes by.

Have you ever flown Jet Blue.?..they are a very comfortable airline I checked the web site its not direct from IL to FL but may be worth it for service, seat comfort, and price....just a thought

Oh, I know! I've lost weight before. When I was working for Disney, I lost about 40 pounds in 7 months. I noticed it when I was looking at pictures one of my friends took at a MNSSHP and I noticed that my face looked not-as-round. I know I can do it, it's just a matter of actually doing it. The difference, though, is that when I was working at WDW, I was walking so much every day, even though I ate utter garbage. My job now is so sedentary except for the few hours where I'm cleaning.

I do snack at work, but I really try not to. It helps that I almost never have cash for the vending machine in the locker room :rotfl: I'm hungry right now, in fact, because the only substantial meal I've had in the last 24 hours was when my family had that turkey dinner last night. I just hate cooking for one. When I'm at work, I usually wind up taking my breaks at the reception desk because my coworker refuses to come downstairs to relieve me and I can't leave the desk without her coming down, so I can't bring anything that needs to be refrigerated or heated up. As I said above, I've lost weight before, so I know it's possible. The only problem is that, with me, I plateau very easily due to my metabolism and then, once I stop whatever I was doing to lose the weight, it all comes right back. If I start riding my bike to work and lose weight, it'll all come back once the winter hits and I can't ride my bike anymore (because I'm not a crazy person who'll ride their bike through 10 inches of snow).

I haven't, and I've priced them already. In order to get similar flight times as what I'd have with Southwest or American, I'd have to pay over $600. For one ticket. I'd rather do the fat ticket with Southwest and hope to have the second one refunded :( Plus, those flights aren't direct and I hate layovers, especially ones that are as long as those seemed to be, you know?

My Doctor is always telling me that the best way to burn calories is through digestion. If you eat small healthy snacks every three to four hours, your body is constantly burning calories through digestion.

For you and Sharon this will be fun..check it out...I already signed up

Ooh, I'll check that out when I get to work! Thanks! :goodvibes

I'll try that. I'm not sure if that would work with me, though. My metabolism is pretty screwed up :(

I really don't think you will need a second seat for Southwest, I'm pretty overweight and I've used them in the last 3 years and haven't needed 2 seats. I'm hoping to lose at least 40 pounds by the time I go again in November, but even if I don't, I'm not anticipating needing to buy another seat. I don't know how they decide who can and cannot fit in their seats but I think it's ridiculous. :confused3

The last time I flew, I was about sixty pounds lighter than I am and I had trouble with the seat. I'm about 315 pounds now, thanks to a lifestyle change (going from a very physical job to a more sedentary one) and some other changes. The last time I flew, the woman sitting next to me (I had the window seat) was very angry that she had some 'fat slob' sitting next to her. I always wear headphones on a plane, but I keep the volume down so I don't disturb my neighbor, so I heard her complaining to her friend, who was sitting in the aisle seat. With the publicity that Southwest has gotten about their customer of size policy ever since Kevin Smith got booted off a plane, I just don't want to risk it. I'd rather just buy the ticket outright and hope for a refund. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that the seat is only seventeen inches wide. My best friend is a size sixteen and her hips are bigger than that, but she's curvy, not fat. My uncle is fairly average, but he still has trouble fitting into some airplane seats because he also has wide hips. The only person I know who can fit in a seat with no trouble and isn't a child is my sister, who inherited my dad's metabolism.

:guilty:

That's true I guess. I think it's ridiculous they even have that stupid policy, and that the seats are that small. The seats don't really bother me though, because I sit next to my DH and we put the arm rest up in the middle so we're not smushed into one seat each, we can share each others.

Now I'm getting nervous about Southwest! I was fine last November when I flew with them, but I gained about 20 pounds since then! Do they have any actual guidelines they follow, or do they just decide by looking at you?

I really got get going with this weight loss! I have 4 months exactly, and I want to lose 10 pounds a month, which I think is realistic, although I'd really like to lose 12-13 pounds a month and lose 50 total by the time we go! :confused3 I'll settle for 40 though!
