How I Survived 11 Days at WDW with a Disney-Resistant Husband **2/20 THE END **

Aw, I love how the older boy cousins were so great with your kids. What great memories for them all! Princess breakfast looks great, one of our favorites too. Looking forward to your beach day!

Ok, the pic of your whole group just before breakfast is priceless!!! DH is by far the one who looks the happiest on there :lmao:

I think i've figured things out for your next trip! Take DH to a breakfast buffet every morning (make sure you only take a picture just before the buffet and none during!) and then send him back to the resort for the rest of the day :rotfl2:

I love the picture you got of them walking holding hands with the cousins....warms my heart

How nice that they bonded so quickly, I love that about kids. I know my nieces are stuck to Aladdin like glue whenever he's around. The youngest one though is always with Jasmine, they have a connection like I've never seen. The other night we were at my sister's and they were sitting next to each other and the little one wa just staring up at Jasmine...Jasmine looked down at her and at the exact same moment they both said I love you best! Brought a tear to my eye.

I love breakfast in Norway! The princesses were so good with the girls here, spent more time than when we've been to the castle.

Another great update my friend:cool1:

Oh- I am SO glad you will be able to go back again! And no, you should not feel bad that you would rather DH stay home. I would probably feel the same way. I think your plan to have him come later and then when he does come down, spend a lot of time by the pool is a smart one. Hopefully he will be more fun then. And thanks for that link to the room views! You were soooo lucky to have that view- the main thing at BCV, i think, is to avoid the 3rd floor- it has the teeniest balconies. That's where we were. Still makes me crazy that we were there at the same time!!!!!!

So sorry about his Aunt- she sounded like a wonderful person.

Count me in with everyone else that loved the pictures of those big boys holding hands and walking with your kids. That cousin bond can be very strong! And it is so nice to see teenage boys who are pleasant to be around. I like to imagine that is what my boys will be like in 8-10 years. Also loved the Belle picture! Chris looks almost like a different person with that big goofy grin. Reminds me a bit of my DH who often looks like a grump, but when he pulls out a real smile he can charm the socks off people. Hope the day at the beach is fun.

What a great breakfast experience! Those boys are just terrific--to basically have met their cousins for the first time and be so loving! That's great also that they were all about Akershus! Glad your day started off on such a positive note!

I ADORE the picture of the kids holding hands walking through the park. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Chris does look happy in that group photo! :thumbsup2

So glad your mini family reunion went so well and that the cousins got to meet and spend time together! :)

That picture of them strolling hand-in-hand is a keeper. It will make a wonderful keepsake of your trip.

That is awesome that the newcomers were able to get up so early for breakfast. Isn't it convenient how close BC is to the IG? Especially BCV. We loved the 5 minute walk. So glad you were able to sweet talk them into selling the tix to your SIL. Love the princess pics! And, I'm starting to think that your DH is hiding that he kinda likes this place even just a little :)

I'm so happy for you that you get to go back! :goodvibes

I'm all caught up now, and waiting for more updates.popcorn::

Sadly, no. It gets worse.:sad2:

That's too bad! My heart is aching a little at reading that it gets worse:sad1:

Okay.. I am only on page 8 right now.. but I have to say that I am LOVING your trip report but am so sad for you right now!
I only hope it keeps so what better for you, if not.. next time I'll go with you!:thumbsup2

My DH doesn't jump up and down about going to Disney.. in fact this November trip will probably be it for at least 3-4 years.. but I don't think he's this bad and my heart aches for you.. for all the time and effort you put into these trips you would HOPE they would be grateful for it..

off to try to catch up!

Hey Trish! Great update on the breakfast with the super extended family. I think I've figured out how to get your DH to smile....so far, this picture is the only picture where he's smiling, right?

If my memory is correct, there has been no smiles at:
  • Donald's safari - wait there were no pictures there!
  • BCV/boardwalk - he was kinda squinting
  • MK - no, you couldn't really say he was happy about smiling
  • Hoedown - no pictures there either

Well, know what's different about this one? There is a pretty DISNEY PRINCESS in the shot...and guess who gets to stand next to one? :rotfl2:

Yummy morning at Akershus! Love that your nephews were so kind to your kiddos. The picture of them walking together is so sweet as is the four them while waiting for you to be called.

The photo of the boys holding Katie and Declan's hands is so precious!

Thanks! It really is a great photo for bringing back memories of the trip!:goodvibes

I thought so too!! What good guys to want to be there for the little ones and not worry about being 'cool.' I actually think that makes them MORE cool! :goodvibes Oh, and I'm sure the teenage boys didn't 'mind' seeing the princesses at all, LOL! :)

I was absolutely amazed to think that these guys were actually teenagers! They were incredibly mature, thoughtful, polite and good natured the ENTIRE trip. I know I sure wasn't like that when I was their age!:rotfl:

It was so, so great to see how well the kids just instantly bonded. I was so happy!

Yes, that photo is certainly comical, isn't it? Like I said, the only one who looks good in it is ironically DH!

I think need to remind my MIL and SIL if I ever travel with them again to put down their purses and hats for the photos!:rotfl:

And I think you might be on to something there for our next trip with DH!

I love the picture you got of them walking holding hands with the cousins....warms my heart

Thanks Queen! Yes, it was pretty amazing and heartwarming to see those kiddos bond so quickly and easily!:goodvibes

Wow Ellen...I had no idea just how well I did then in requesting the room I did, and then managing to get it!;) Had no idea the balcony sizes were different on various floors!

And yes...that does make me crazy we were at BCV at the same time. I am sure 6 out of 8 nites we were there I would leave the room btwn 9-10pm once everyone had settled for the nite, and I would be out by myself until 1-2am. If only I knew that a fun group of DisMoms were having a party at the same time...

And I think I can safely say that hanging out with you guys would have been A LOT more fun than hanging with my husband that week!:rotfl:

It is amazing what a little smile can do, isn't it? I so wish I had seen more of them from DH on this trip!

Yes - my nephews were superstars on this trip. They took care of my kids, played with them, and made sure everyone had a great time. They are awesome kids!:goodvibes

Thanks Darcy...I think so too!:)

You know...I think you are right. I think there is definitely some hidden Disney love deep down that he tries hard to suppress.

Aw..thanks!

I am sure from DH's perspective, I was the one who owed him since he agreed to go back to WDW in the first place. Perhaps I should have just been grateful that he came at all, let alone to have expected him to attend all of the character meals and special dinners I had planned.

Unfortunately, my family can see right through me when I try and tell them all of the effort I go through in organizing these trips is for their benefit. In actual fact, as I will readily admit, I do it for me.

Too funny! And so clever! I never thought of that, but you definitely may be onto something there!

Hmmmm....I wonder how much it would cost me to hire a Princess to escourt us all around the Parks on our next trip!:rotfl:

Yummy morning at Akershus! Love that your nephews were so kind to your kiddos. The picture of them walking together is so sweet as is the four them while waiting for you to be called.

Thanks Stephanie! It was so nice to see the cousins bonding so nicely, that is for sure!:goodvibes

I'm so glad the Princess breakfast was great! My daughter loves eating in Norway (and she's becoming quite the princess dining expert!). It's so refreshing to hear about nice teenagers!!!

The Norway breakfast really is great, isn't it? :)

Wonderful update Trish! I agree, that is a wonderful picture of your hubby!! What troopers those teenagers were to get up with no sleep to have breakfast with a bunch of princesses! :lmao: Then again....it's princesses....and teenage boys.....guess they knew what they were doing afterall!

Can't wait to hear about your beach trip! :goodvibes
