The Official 2010 MNSSHP- Tips,Tricks and a few Treats !

Berlioz70- Holy Guacamole!!!!!!!!!! You saw everybody!!!!:worship: I would love to see the villains as well-Maleficent being my favorite:lovestruc-but I did get to see her this past March at Epcot. Did you watch the parade or did you just skip the fireworks? I cannot wait to go!!!!! :banana:I'd love to dress up with my husband..but at 7 months pregnant I think my options are limited....:confused3

On a side note we'll be traveling from Sept 27-Oct 8....the crowds are smaller than at spring break right? :confused:Are they considerably smaller? How are the MNSSHP crowds in Sept.? DH + Large crowds=

Keep in mind Berlioz has the benefit of inside information on when to go at the last minute when crowds are expected to be low (and YES that makes me WAY jealous!!!! :goodvibes)

By late September the parks during the day are pretty decent crowd wise, but expect party attendance to be fairly heavy. We were there 9/29 and 10/1 last year. Both parties were fairly well attended, but still quite manageable. Could I have done all Berlioz did? No. But we still had a great time.

We are debating between 10/1 and 10/17. Does anyone know when they run out of MNSSHP pins? Last year we went on 10/25 or 10/26 and they had already run out. If they will be out on the 17th, then we will plan to go on 10/1. Otherwise, we would probably rather go on 10/17. Thanks. Debby

Last year for Nov 1 they actually had less candy and did not top off candy bags as you exit the park like they did on other party dates. If you did lots of t or t they had plenty of candy just didn't get extra at the exit like we thought we would.

we're going Nov 1st this year, and we're not too bothered about the candy, but I do have a few other questions if I may - do people still get dressed up as much as parties prior to 31st Oct? Do they still have any special party merchandise for sale? Is anything likley to be different from all the other parties? Thanks:)

Hello there everyone!

I'm not sure if anyone saw my question about confirming where the photo op is with the Mickey white ghost?

Many thanks :thumbsup2

Heather

They were out of most of the special merchandise by the Nov 1 party. I think they had 1 type of pin and only sweatshirts with the party logo no tshirts. There were people dressed up but not nearly as many as we had seen the day before and not as elaborate. It was definitely fun just low key.

Does this help?
Thanks for responding :)

I had mentioned in my original post that I didn't notice this last year and wanted to confirm this is indeed the location. It could have been that we were near the Crystal Palace too early last year? :confused3. Can anyone confirm exactly where it is? I also don't remember there being a photo pass photographer near the Haunted Mansion either?

Thanks :flower3:

The Haunted Mansion photo is to the right of the chained in area where you line up for the ride. They didn't let you line up early for this photo op last year. The hitch hiking ghosts was right by the riverboat a very short walk from HM. The ghost Mickey wasn't there for us last year either maybe just on certain nights?

Thanks! We lucked out a lot with MNSSHP because it was the only night my DH and I both had off and attendance was great. I definitely had some insider help when planning for MVMCP and didn't do as well as I did at MNSSHP.

I did watch the horseman at the start of the first parade and then watched most of the second parade (left at the Goofy Candy Company section, the last section).

Sounds like Pacha and Chicha are the perfect costume options for you (Emperor's New Groove). Any chance you've got two little ones to dress up as Tipo and Chaca?

I've been the last two years and have never heard of or seen a Mickey Ghost. There is a giant Mickey Ghost balloon, which designates the Snow meet and greet location, but is not something I'd really consider a photo op.

Yep, there is a photopass magic photo next to the Haunted Mansion herse.

This will be our 1st MNSSHP on Sept 30-do you think we'd be able to see snow white/dwarfs and minnie and mickey-or are the lines ridonkulous??

Hopefully it won't be terribly hot....I'll be 7 months pregnant & DH thinks he's going as Darth Vader:sad2:

OMG! OMG!! That would be SO cute! Only thing you'd have to make for your DH is his shirt if you couldn't find a green poncho! And he'd be nice & comfy cuz he could wear brown shorts & sandals (Birks would be perfect if he has some!)

And yours would be an easy, breezy dress with your hair up! Perfect at 7 months! BTW, props to you HappyDisneyMom for going at 7 months. There's NO WAY I would have, unless that meant the labor would have been easier.

Do they do test runs for hallowishes prior to the first party? We will be attending the first party on the 14th. It would be kind of fun to watch a test run from BLT our first couple of nights.

Thanks!! :). I'm glad - in a weird sort of way- that we weren't the only ones that didnt see the Mickey ghost. I'm definitely going to recheck for the photo ops and I look forward to reading posts coming up in Sep and Oct! :cool1:

Last year I got in line at about 6:30 (an hour before they came out) and was not the first one there. By 7:15 the line was already cut.

So, as long as you're in line before 7:15, you'll probably get in on the first group to see SW & 7? I'm guessing if you get in line early, you wait and if you get in line later, you wait around an hour no matter what?

I could really use some advice on how to maximize my time. I've only been to MVMCP once and it was really crowded and we only saw a few characters b/c I feel like we had to waste a lot of time getting a spot for the show, parade, and fireworks b/c we were packed in like sardines!

Also, does Nov 1 ever sell out? How are the crowds? I don't care if they top off our candy bags when we leave, but they won't run out elsewhere will they? My kids would be disappointed! lol

Thanks:goodvibes We went once when I was 4 months and I thought I was going to die:scared: Soo this time around I'm going to make sure I keep up my workout beforehand but I'm not expecting any miracles...DM is coming and renting one of those electric scooters so we figured we'd share.

Thanks for responding-hey as long as the parks during the day aren't that bad-that's all that matters. The day we're going to MNSSHP we plan on staying by the pool and relaxing anyway-this way we'll be ready to go for the party.

I must say good idea but not a fav of mine. DH wants to go as Darth Vader...so MAYBE I was going to make DD2.5 Princess Leia, DS4 Luke Skywalker, and DS1 Yoda...and make myself Padme(Luke & Leia's Mom)...What do you guys think?

Planning on attending either the 28th or 30th... which would you all suggest?

The 28th because we'll be there the 30th:lmao:..lol j/k...but I would say the 28th anyway because there is EMH in the morning for MK on the 30th. We're not going on the 28th because it's DH and I's anniversary.
