Where did this heat and all these people come from? The new PTR/TR link 5/7

Great update!

MUST TRY THE CREAM CHEESE PRETZEL....how in the world have I never gotten one of those before?! Genius! Now that is on the list for this trip for sure! :worship:

AK also has some yummy jalapeno and cheese pretzels. Not as good as the cream cheese ones but pretty close.

Continued prayers for Beth and prayers for your new job.

Enjoying your TR, I am getting caught up and I usually wait before commenting but I had to tell you I love this pic of the baloons, it is really cool! My DH and I were there the same week, (2nd to 9th) at POR, so to comment on your title, it was definitely much hotter and more crowded than I was expecting!

Then we slowly made our way back down Main Street where these very cool temporary works of art bid us goodnight

Was this Sunday the 2nd? We were at MK this night, too! :) These water drawings were neat, I wish I had gotten pics of them. We saw the CM's making them.

So glad Beth's surgery is working and allowing her to be pain free!

We will through a coin or two into the WL geyser for you. You know that thing has some serious power so hopefully you will get the job.

Oooh, I meant to text MeMom and ask her to do that for me....Thanks!

Saying a prayer for you about the job! :goodvibes

thanks, this would be so great for our family to start moving forward again. I'm grateful that we have been able to make things work financially over the last year but we aren't getting anywhere and that's getting frustrating.

So glad that Beth is doing well!

Prayers for that job coming your way! With a little pixie dust thrown in for good measure pixiedust:

Thanks! I can't wait to see Beth again and give her a giant pain-free HUG!

So glad Beth is doig well.

Wishing you some pixie dust :wizard: for the job.

If Jill puts a coin in the WL geyser for you, you can pretty much count on your wish coming true.

remember the story of my WL geyser wish that didn't come through...it was for this job. They offered it to someone else who then decided to move on to something else so it has been reopened. Let's hope a second quarter will seal the deal!

I'm so happy that Beth is doing well, what a relief for her and her loved ones!

I'm hoping for you on this job offer!! :worship::worship:

Her husband and children have certainly made sacrifices for her condition and although you do those things when you have to, it will be nice for them to have the real Beth back!

That is wonderful news about Beth!!

Sending lots of pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: your way for the job.

Thanks, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

I'm so happy to hear how well Beth is doing - I just can't imagine not being able to hug my family!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you on the job!!!

that was definitely the hardest part of her ordeal, at it's worst, even holding her husbands hand would cause severe pain (sometimes a light touch like that was worse than a hard touch) I can't imagine what she has been through and how she kept such a positive outlook!

GREAT news on Beth; I hope she continues to get stronger and stronger every day; and hope she has her "daughter" home soon.

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: on the job. I will say an extra prayer each night for you.

Because her condition was variable, they have been in different stages of the adoption more than once. At one point they had a child assigned to them then had to give her up because things got really bad. I know she will be thrilled to start the process again!

So glad that Beth is on the mend and without pain.

Good luck on the job. It is really hard here right now getting a teaching job. It seems they have got rid of art and a few other things and letting some people go and moving others around.

Lots of districts here are reducing their staff numbers by not replacing retiring teachers. Others are only filling their positions with new teachers who are much cheaper than someone like me (8 years of experience and a master's degree). I do worry this may work against me once again!

Wow, look at that crowd! I'm glad you were able to avoid most of that with your touring plan. Score! That cream cheese pretzel looks much more appetizing than the turkey on wheat I am faced with today. Jealous! I also love the Haunted Mansion. It's so much fun!

I could go for another day like that today...I would even deal once again with the heat, crowds and blisters! Instead, I am headed to camp with Patrick because I somehow got roped into volunteering for it!

AK also has some yummy jalapeno and cheese pretzels. Not as good as the cream cheese ones but pretty close.

Continued prayers for Beth and prayers for your new job.

I've never tried those pretzels because I have a fine line between a good heat and too hot and jalepenos are unpredictable in that way. maybe someday I'll be with someone who gets it and I can give it a try!

:welcome: Glad to have you along!! I love that picture too :lovestruc

Was this Sunday the 2nd? We were at MK this night, too! :) These water drawings were neat, I wish I had gotten pics of them. We saw the CM's making them.

Yep! It was a great evening and although we hadn't made plans to meet up with any of them, there were a lot of Disers in the park that night. We must have gotten there shortly after you because the CM's who did them were just standing off to the side.

Day 3 continued

Finally we made our way to Main Street to wait for the afternoon parade. Most of the few shady spots were already filled but like in DHS the day before, we found a small patch under a tiny tree that at least took the edge off the sunshine.

We were just enjoying talking with the dozen or so others trying to share the shade of that tiny tree when a colorful group of gentleman came out to entertain the growing crowds.

They worked their way up and down the other side of the street but apparently our side wasn’t worthy or anything other than a view of their backsides. :sad2: Before too long the volunteer portion of the parade began with some of our favorite fuzzy creatures!

And the mouseter and moustress of the ceremonies made their appearance. I liked how they were looking toward each other in this photo!

florida2010314.jpg

And a wide variety of friends and foes joined the fun

Some princesses made an appearance

Then that nasty creature came along. But I got a kick out of his antics!

When the parade was over, we made our way back to CSR to meet my parents who had arrived in Orlando earlier in the day. For those of you just joining in…my parents have a winter home in Florida near Sarasota. They had received vouchers through the Give a Day program and decided to come join us for a day in the parks. They were staying offsite so we had made plans to meet at the resort then go to dinner together.

Maybe the first quarter is working..... just slowly.

As always Katie I am enjoying ALL of your outstanding pictures!! You have gotten so many great shots!!! It's so fun to read through your report and gaze at all the pics!!!! That gummi bear cake is AWESOME and I too may "steal" it from you!!! LOVE IT!!!!

SO GLAD to hear how wonderful Beth is feeling and that she is able to really get going back to things she is so looking forward to in life!! What great news!!

:wizard:I hope you get that job too!!! I will be thinking good thoughts your way during the holiday weekend!!!

Awesome parade pics!! The pic of Mickey and Minne looking at eachother is wonderful! I love capturing moments like that too!! You and Shelby sure saw and did a lot at the MK!!!!:goodvibes

I've never seen that parade, so I really enjoyed looking at your pictures! Was that the Dapper Dans performing before the parade started? Too bad they never turned around; their costume colors are awesome!

Awesome parade pictures!!!:thumbsup2 I love the one of Mickey and Minnie looking at each other too
:rotfl2: at the IASW escapee...and yeah where is her leg? That is one odd picture!! It can't be an employee because they don't just walk around in costume....there were some schools/ choruses there that week I think..right? Anyhoo that is funny!!:lmao:
Great news for Beth...so happy everything is working out for her...she must be so relieved :goodvibes
pixiedust: for the interview

Tracy

Love your parade pictures, Katie. The one of Mickey and Minnie looking at each other is priceless. I love how you "described" Stitch...too funny. :lmao:

Great update! I never get the chance to sit and watch the afternoon parade, I haven't seen one in a long time--It might have been the "Mickey Mania" one that was back in the late 90's I think to tell you how long it's been, maybe we will watch when we go next time (hopefully next year but time will tell)

Love your parade pictures. I haven't seen any of the parades in years but will at least see one this time.

Oooh, new PTR! Heading that way next..

2 quick life updates:

1. I wanted to share Beth's FB status last night "I CAN HUG MY HUSBAND AND SONS WITHOUT PAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ALMOST THREE YEARS! IT WORKED! PTL!!! Don't take the "little things" in life for granted." This just makes me SO happy!! Beth hasn't complained much through this entire ordeal, her attitude has just amazed me! But in her times of weakness, she has shared how her life has changed and it has been incredibly difficult for her. I'm so happy she can now return to the way life was (including finally bringing home the daughter from China they have been wanting for 3 years)

2. I wasn't going to say anything because I have had very bad luck in this area in the last 2 years but I really need some prayers and good wishes! My "old" Dis-friends know this but my newer friends don't. I was a high school teacher for 8 years and left for a variety of reasons. since then, finding another job has been much more challenging than I ever anticipated. There were 2 retirements at the middle school in my town which I thought would be the perfect new job for me. They ended up filling both with people already a part of the school in other positions. A couple weeks ago, one of those people backed out and the job was reopened. Yesterday I interviewed and hopefully will get a job offer soon (it may not be until after the holiday weekend) Wish me luck please!!

Glad to hear that Beth's operation went well.

Like everyone else, I've got everything crossed for you.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of the MK parade. They are beautiful! Yes - I love Mickey and Minnie looking at each other. I wonder if they were sharing a private joke or a private spat? :rotfl:

Thanks for letting me see the parade through your camera lens! One of these days I'll actually get to watch an afternoon Disney parade....
