2010 Armed Forces Salute

I've read that with regular tickets, if you write down/take a picture of the serial number, if you lose the ticket, you can use that number to get a replacement ticket.

Is this true for the salute tickets as well? Thanks.

We just got back recently and left one of the salute tickets in our room during a visit to MK. Since they are tied to:1- the military person 2-the guest name, they were able to cancel the old one and issue a new one. It took about 3 minutes. We were quite relieved. We did not know the "serial number"

All WDW Tickets have a combination which includes letters, numbers and the date the ticket was printed. This number cannot be duplicated within the Automated Ticketing System and the combination is the serial number. Any ticket can be looked up in the system and reissued if necessary. Note that when a lost or misplaced ticket is reissued, if the original is found the original will no longer work in the turnstiles.

When we bought ours the lady at the ticket counter said to just show DH ID card if we lost any and they could be reissued.

Last year, I forgot our MNSSHP tickets at home...we called the front desk of our resort, who put the call through someone . I thought all was lost, because I didn't have the credit card with me or anything that I used to order them with (I ordered them online), after some basic questions, they said is the Mrs. _________, from _________? I answered yes, and they said I could pick some new ones up at Guest Services at the MK. I was shocked, it was so effortless, and definitely felt the Pixie Dust!!

I have a 100% disibility but only have a Veterans Administration health care with a photo ID. Will that work>

The selling of the tickets is supposed to stop on August 31. However, the tickets may be activated and/or upgraded through September 30. The cost for the Hopping option and for the WPF&M option is $25 (plus tax) per option.

Note that all tickets will die at 11:59:59pm on September 30 and cannot be used after that date (unless Disney decides to change policy again).

So ticket sales are now thru August. Here is my question;

Even though I bought tickets for my adult kids for our trip this past March, I didn't get one for my retired DH (he was working and unable to make that trip) nor did I buy my entire alotted number of tickets.(I only bought four) Can my DH who is actually the service member, now buy one more ticket for himself for our August trip at GS at WDW?

This is from the official notice: "Permanently Disabled Veterans are also eligible for this offer. These military personnel will have a military ID with a DAVPRM status."

Technically you bought the four tickets under his name. He is still able to purchase/activate two more.

Cheshire Figment you are the best! Thanks for such a quick reply.

I have another question about military discounted MNSSHP tickets being offered this year. Do you purchase them at GS on the day you want to use them or are there advance sales?

Also, are they only good for certain dates? I believe the same people that are eligible for the Arm Forces salute can purchase these tickets, ie active and retired service members?

I haven't heard about this offer....is it merely the normal price of ticket, minus taxes, or is there a special "discount"? TIA!

The Military Discount MNSSHP tickets are available at any Ticket Window or Guest Relations Office. They are not available at the Resorts, SoG, or military bases. Limit is six tickets for any one night. The specific dates currently available are all in September: 14, 18, 21, 23, 28 and 30. Pricing, including tax, is $40.23/$35.75.

So, for those of you who have already gone on your trip and used your military salute tickets, I have a question... How did you use your 4 day tickets?

Did you do one park a day or did you get the hoppers and hop around? I'm looking for ideas to get the most out of these tickets. We plan to add the hopper and the waterpark options and we're staying for 8 nights total with the QS dining plan.

How do you think we should spend these tickets? How did you spend yours and how did it work out? Do you have any tips?

Just a little FYI about our family, we have three kids ages 13, 11, and 7. All of us love rides and my kids are huge waterpark lovers. The youngest two are video game obsessed boys who can't wait to try Disney Quest. We have a lot to cram into a short time! Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Is there a discount on the Very Merry Christmas Party tickets also or just Halloween? Thanks!

Sounds like you will want to hit all 4 parks. You can see most everything at AK in a 1/2 day or so.... so you should hop to MK or EC after that. That way you will want to get more time at EC (huge park) and MK. Our kids are older dd 19, ds 16 and ds 11 and the boys LUV the water parks and our youngest son will want to do Disney Quest I am sure. My older son will probably go too. He liked it better when he was younger. I would go to the water parks on the week days because the locals get GREAT PRICED Annual Passes and will be there on the weekends. Just an FYI. Also, MK is better on Wed. too. If you are trying to get the most bang out of your passes then you will want to sacrifice SLEEP and do the EMH's. LOL We avoid the EMH's now but we have been to WDW 16 times and we don't feel the need to see and do everything. Since we are a family of 5 too...we are actually letting the boys and my husband use the Military Salute tickets. My dd and I are getting 9 day MYW hoppers at SOG. The three guys are getting one basic ticket and one with hopping and water parks. When we go to MK and EC they will use the basic ticket. When we go to AK and DHS they will use the hopper because we usually end up at MK or EC for part of those days. That way they have 8 park days and 4 water parks and more. They do not go to the water parks all day so they can still hit a park that night. Good Luck........have fun.

Poohie, missed another deal, going in Oct...wonder if all this ends the end of September thing has something to do with the Fiscal Year? Oh well, we can still get the DVC price, tho not as good a deal.

At least that is all that was announced, and it was published two months ago. There is nothing yet about MVMCP.
