Once Upon a Christmastime! A Nov. 2010 PTR! *Update 12/12, Disney Blues, pg 61! :( *

Wow $398, that's great! Why are you furious with the airline?

They've changed our return flight twice already. Granted, I get an extra four hours in Marco, but we were originally scheduled to be home by 2 p.m. so I could rest up to go to work the next day. Then it was 6 p.m. and now it is 9:55 p.m. which means it will be midnight before we get home (after getting luggage and limo home). And on top of that our return flight now makes one stop. I hate flying to begin with and to have to go up and down and then up and down again on the way home is driving me crazy. :scared1:

November 13-20! :cool1: We went this same week last year and it was perfect! Perfect weather, no crowds, and the Christmas decorations were amazing! The whole time Brandon kept saying he never wanted to go again at any other time, so while we were there, I asked him if we could go again the same week next year and he said yes!

This made my day! We just booked our trip for Nov 14-19 and having only been to DW in the summer I had no idea what to expect. SO excited!!!

HEY!! I'm here!! I am so sorry I'm late- my internet has been out for days and I'm just now getting back on. I'm gonna go back and read everything right now I just wanted to you to know I'm on board!!

Okay I'm all caught up!

I love your title! Very festive and creative, and I love that you got it from MVMCP! :thumbsup2

That jar is so cool! That thing is going to have a lot of money in it when it gets full!

I wish I could make some suggestions about your resort dilemma. Unfortunately, I've never stayed at a deluxe so I'm not help. But I've always dreamed of staying at WL. One of these days!

Yay on the plane tickets! We are having major issues with my cousin and his gf's tickets for our trip. I'm gonna update on that soon on my PTR.

Sorry again for being so late. I was so mad at myself for missing the start of this! Can't wait to read more!

Ugh, that's too bad. :( That's why I like SW, I feel like they don't change flight times the way other airlines do...or I've just gotten lucky with them! I don't think I could get home that late at night and go to work the next day, I like have a day to rest and recover from vacation mode.

You're going to love being in WDW that week, it is the best time, in my opinion!

Yay, you're finally here!!!!

I don't know what to do about the resort problem...I keep having all these obnoxious things come up that cost lots of money (I need new tires on my car, and I have to go to the stupid dentist next week, which is expensive even with my insurance ) so I feel like I should switch back to POR. But at the same time, if we are able to stay in WL I really want to, which is why I'm keeping it as is for now. :confused3 REALLY hoping for a free dining pin or that they extend it past October! That would be SO great! Or if I could just get that Monster pin!!!!

Don't worry about being late, you're not missing much yet! I was so anxious to start this PTR, now I'm wondering, what am I going to talk about for 5 more months??? :rotfl: My next real update is going to be my ADR's so that will be something fun to talk about!

So, I finally got Brandon to agree to watch Toy Story 2, since I'm kinda hoping to see 3 when it comes out this weekend!

For those of you who don't know, Brandon has not seen Toy Story 1 or 2 and I've only seen 1, and it was a long time ago. So my sister let me borrow both movies...we watched 1 over the weekend and really liked it!

But Brandon kept putting off watching 2, so I finally got him to watch it tonight...OMG, it's SO sad!!!! :sad1::sad1::sad1: The part with Jessie thinking about Emily and that song...I was trying to hold back my tears, but I just couldn't, I started crying like a baby, I felt so stupid!!! :sad2: :rotfl:

That's almost as bad as the Lion King when Mufasa dies. Jeez. :sad1:

It was a really good movie though, I liked much more than the first one! And now that Brandon has seen them, I can finally push for us to go on TSM!!!! Woo hoo!!!!

I love both of those movies! I know TS 1 by heart, 2 not so much, but I used to watch 1 over & over! I was hoping to see TS3 when it came out...but Disney awaits!!!!! I can watch TS3 another day!!!!!:rotfl2:

Okay I have been thinking about the resort issue, and I really think that even though it costs more you should stick with WL. I have always heard that it is gorgeous there at Christmastime, and if this is going to be your last trip for a while you want to make it special!

Yay! I love both the Toy Story movies. I am sooo excited for Toy Story 3. It's going to be awesome!

I can't wait to hear about your ADR plans!!

Oh, I HATE that song. I was crying just listening to it last night. We're debating seeing Toy Story 3 before our trip or while we're in Disney. Seeing it AT Disney would be special - but it would take away park time!

Mark sat and watched parts of Toy Story 2 the other night (it was on cable) but I think he started it midway through. I've never seen it.

I'm in!

We'll be there the same time the 13th-21st. I agree that WL is gorgeous with all the decorations. I've never seen POL decorated for Xmas so I can't help you there, but have you seen any pics of it decorated? That may help you with your decision. We'll be at the BWV. We were hoping for the BCV, but that's the only one we couldn't get into with the DVC:mad:

I can't wait to hear about your ADRs. So far we only have TH for breakfast on the 14th. I'm trying to plan a dinner for just DH and I as a belated anniversary dinner. Since my parents are going to be there we'll leave the kids with them one night. Just not sure where I want to go yet though.

Definitely don't waste any Disney time at the movies! TS3 will still be out when you get back, have fun while you're there! (Which you should be now! Yay! :cool1:)

As of now I'm sticking with WL, but I was going over the numbers again this morning and staying at POR would just make soooo much more sense. And if they extend free dining, there's no question that I will go back to POR! I LOVE WL, it was amazing last year, but it's just sooooo much money, you know? I have to stop thinking I'm a deluxe person and that I can just stay in any deluxe any time I want! :rotfl2:

I'm having issues with my ADR's too! Big surprise! :rotfl:

If I ever watch TS2 again, I'm going to skip that part! It's so horrible, so sad. :( Even if I think about it too much I'll start crying!

I would see TS3 before you go to Disney...why take away any park time? :thumbsup2

Mark sat and watched parts of Toy Story 2 the other night (it was on cable) but I think he started it midway through. I've never seen it.

It's cute, if you like Toy Story you will like 2. Just be careful of the part with Jessie thinking about her previous owner, it's awful! :sad1:

Hi, :welcome:!!

That's so cool that we will be there at the same time! I keep considering adding and leaving early in the morning on the 21st but I think I'll just keep it the way I have it, the 20th so I can still have most of the weekend to recover before I have to go back to work. I think I have seen pics of POR decorated for Christmas, I'm not sure, I know I have seen CSR which looks beautiful during Christmas! But nothing can compare to WL, not even GF with it's huge gingerbread house! *Sigh* I just don't know what to do! I'm going to stress about it for the next few months until I can make a decision!

BWV should be fun! I would rather be at BCV too, but BWV will be just as good, I like the Boardwalk, it's just that clown pool that freaks me out! :rotfl:

I am going to put up my ADR's in a little while, I have to run to the bank first...I got married over a month ago and still haven't switched my bank stuff or my credit cards to my new married name yet so I'm going to try to take care of that today! :yay:

Hi, Jen! I noticed the link to your PTR in your siggy and had to check it out! I'm excited to read all about your plans! popcorn:: I've got some catching up to do, so I'm off to do that now!

Oh, and I'll definitely be checking out your May TR as well! I'm very interested to read about your Disneymoon! :goodvibes

Hi, :welcome:, glad you're here! :cool1:

I'm going to check out your TR from your January trip as soon as I update here! :)

Hey everyone! Here are my ADR's that I made almost a month ago! I booked my trip and my ADR date was like, 2 days after, so I had to plan everything out really fast!

These are very tentative ADR's right now, there are a few places I'm not sure about, a few days I'm not sure which park I want to be in...well, let me just tell you and then I'll comment later!

Oh, one more thing-these are NOT my pictures! I borrowed them from wdwinfo.com because the only pics I had of restaurants I already used in my TR so I didn't want to use them again! And wdwinfo.com has very nice pictures of each restaurant! :)

November 13, Saturday, arrival day:

Originally, the plan was take an afternoon flight to Orlando, so our room would most definitely be ready, head to DTD and go here

DD-marketplace_Fultons-Crab-House.jpg

Fulton's! I have no interest in this place, but every time DH sees it he wants to go. I have yet to make the ADR for it, but I'm going to, although I'm not sure if it will be arrival day...

We weren't going to go to any parks the first night, just walk around DTD and have dinner and relax! BUT, there are 2 things that are most likely going to change those plans-

1. The Food and Wine festival at Epcot is still going on until Sunday, so I think we are definitely going to want to check that out! and

2. EMH's at Magic Kingdom!!!! There is no way I can wait until the next night to see the castle all lit up with it's beautiful Christmas lights, so we are definitely going there! This is what we did last year too, Epcot, then took the monorail over to MK to see the castle!

So I'm guessing Fulton's will just have to wait until another night! :rotfl:

November 14, Sunday:

Breakfast at Crystal Palace at 8:25 am

DSC00026.jpg

I did this in May and I loved it! And DH liked it too, so we figured why not, do it again! However, I don't know if he's going to be thrilled going to MK late the night before and then early the next morning, so again, this might be moved. :confused3

Dinner at Les Chef's de France, 5:30 pm

DSC08540.jpg

I've always wanted to try this place, because I LOVE french onion soup, and it looks so pretty there! If anyone has been here, please let me know how it is, I keep reading mixed reviews about it!

November 15, Monday:

Breakfast at Tusker House at 8:35 am

DSC09978.jpg

This will be a first for us, and I'm really excited about going here, I've heard it's supposed to be one of the best character breakfast's at WDW! I'm just not sure about going to 2 character breakfasts 2 days in a row, so this might get moved to later in the week. Either that or I will move CP. Not sure yet!

Dinner at Mama Melrose's at 5:25 pm

Streets_of_America_53.jpg

We went here last November and loved it! I love Italian food, and after trying Tony's this past May and not being all that impressed with it, I knew I wanted to go here again!

I'm just having a problem with my DHS days...Sunday is the only time I can see Fantasmic if I want to. As of now, the way I have it planned, we are not seeing Fantasmic at all. I'm ok with skipping it, but then again, I've only seen it once, our first trip in September 08, and we were all the way in the back. So I kind of want to see it again. But DHS EMH's are Monday night, which is what I was planning for us to do, because I can't miss magic hours there, I just can't! So we will see...I have 4 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days to think about it and decide! I'm sure all the Fantasmic dinner packages are sold out! :confused3

No ADR's for November 16, Tuesday, that is the day we are most likely going to Universal, I'm thinking we will either eat somewhere there or go to DTD after. Maybe I will make the ADR for Fulton's for this night instead of our arrival day, or we will just eat something at WL, or whatever resort we end up at! :rotfl:

November 17, Wednesday

Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern, 12:00 pm

DSC09715.jpg

I'm excited about trying this place, I've read very good things about the lunch here! I would rather go here for dinner but I don't like that it's family style for dinner. The lunch menu looks soooo good, I don't know why they wouldn't have that for dinner as well! :confused3

November 18, Thursday

Dinner at Ohana, 5:00

DSC02344.jpg

Not sure about this one. This is the day we are going to MVMCP, and last year, before the party we ate at Kona and really liked it. Brandon said he wanted to go again, so I made us an ADR there and that was it. Then my sister got back from her trip, and said Ohana was really good, so I switched it. But I just don't know...again, the family style kind of bothers me, I like being able to pick out what I want to eat, and I've been reading really horrible things about Ohana lately. I don't listen to every review I read, and my sister really did like it, and there are people who say it's great...I'm just kind of on the fence with it.

I'm thinking since Kona is the one place other than Crystal Palace that Brandon said he wanted to go back to, I might just switch back to Kona. I know he wants to get sushi from the little sushi bar they have and since it is his trip too, I will most likely switch. If anyone has had dinner at Ohana, let me know how it is!

November 19, Friday, our last day. :(

Dinner at Le Cellier, of course, at 7:15!

DSC08517.jpg

I always like to end our trips at Epcot, although in May we ended at DHS, we usually start and end at Epcot. I'm hoping we will have a nice dinner at Le Cellier, get finished around 8:30-ish, and go out and watch Illuminations! I love Illuminations, we didn't really watch it when we were there in May, we would stand there for a few minutes and watch, then go do something else. And there are EMH's at Epcot this night, so again, that's another reason I wanted to end here, I like staying out as long as I can our last night to soak up as much Disney as possible! :)

That's it, the next day we get up and go to the airport and go home! :sad1: I will most likely move things around over the next few months, because although I'm happy with most of the restaurants I got, I'm not sure about where I want to be and when. I have a very basic itinerary planned but it could change. I'd like to find a time where we can go to Boma for dinner, I'm kind of thinking Wednesday maybe, or after Universal on Tuesday. *Sigh* I LOVE planning WDW vacations...but it's so hard knowing where you will want to be 6 months ahead of time!!! :rotfl:

If anyone has any comments or suggestions, please let me know! I'm especially curious about Les Chef's and Ohana, let me know if you like these places or not! :rotfl2:

I love your ADR list! All of those are on my "wish list"! :thumbsup2 That's funny what you think about LTT - I'm the opposite. I'd rather have lunch there, but want the food that they serve at dinnertime! :lmao: As for O'Hana, I really recommend you give it a try! It was such a fun experience, and if you can get an ADR time during Wishes then you might get to see the show from your table - we ended up doing that on our last trip and it was just magical! :cloud9: Plus, all of the food is amazing! I'm a big O'Hana fan! :thumbsup2

HI!!! Your ADRs look great!! We love LTT (only had the family style meal) but it was SO good. Like a great Thanksgiving meal :lovestruc

Ohana is our family's favorite meal!!! Don't be scared about the family style meal on this one..they have SO many different flavors and options coming so fast at you the whole time..it is so great :cloud9: The smells are so amazing (think pineapple and grilled meat) and the entertainment keeps the kids busy all night long! Ask for a seat by the grill and you can watch Wishes from the window and see the CMs cooking the meat on the flame grill/fire pit!! It is awesome :thumbsup2

I love your ADR choices. We've done a good majority of them -- we love LeCellier, Crystal Palace and Mam Melrose. We've done done Ohana or Chefs or Tusker House (Tusker House will be on the list for next trip after this one). We did Liberty Tree Tavern three years ago. We had a LONG wait, but lunch was very good (I wouldn't do dinner either -- not a fan of family style or Thanksgiving dinner food).

Now, for Fulton's! One of our absolute all time favorites. We ty to go every other year because it is expensive and it is NOT on the dining plan. But we have always had great service and great food. Here is a link to our dining reviews from our 25th wedding anniversary trip which has Fulton's in it (along with pics of the food). If you are not a seafood lover, they do have other food besides fish. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1952509&highlight=25th+anniversary

I've never eaten at Les Chefs de France, so I can't help you there. I have always wanted to eat there, though. The restaurant looks so pretty!

As for 'Ohana, it is my favorite restaurant in WDW. I adore 'Ohana. I know it has been getting mixed reviews lately, but I have never had a bad meal there. I'll be eating there in a little over a month, so I'll definitely let you know if it's gotten as bad as people have said. But I definitely think you should try it. :thumbsup2

I completely forgot to comment on Tusker House! You're going to love it! I think, food wise, it is the best character buffet (although I've never done CP breakfast and I hear that's really good). :thumbsup2 They've got so many more choices there than they do at some of the other buffets, and the variety is a little different because they've got some African dishes (nothing too, exotic, just enough to be "different"). Plus the juice they serve you is so good!

I've read that the character interaction there isn't that great, but we didn't find that to be the case. Goofy proposed to me at TH! Hehe, so it holds a special place in my heart! :rotfl:
