Where did this heat and all these people come from? The new PTR/TR link 5/7

Eewww about the smudges and fingerprints all in your new room. But the view from the new room looks pretty-:) -I'm sure it beat your old room.

Wow - Your new room location is fabulous! It couldn't be a prettier view! Nice! I am so glad that Shelby arrived safely and you were able to catch a quick cab to your dinner location.

Why did I just know that that lady was going to spill her drinks all over. If she had just let you take one of them off her hands things would have turned out so much better! :rotfl:

Nice. :cool2:

Such a pretty place!
I know I say this about every Disney resort. I mean it about all of them.

Beautiful pictures of CSR! I've never been attracted to that resort, because of the conventioneers, but it's growing on me.

The new view is much improved! I just booked some friends to stay there in July. I hope they have fun I am still not convinced I am going to overcome my dislike and stay there. Coronado will probably be the last resort marked off my list.

Ewww, can't believe those smudges stayed for your entire trip! Not cool. On a positive note, your pool view is beautiful!

In general CSR looks delightful. The grounds seem beautiful, I hear great things about Pepper Market and I love the room decor. I am bummed to hear that the smudges stayed there for your whole stay despite the call to mousekeeping. Why on earth did you need to be in the room for them to resolve it? :confused3

Oh well, can't wait to hear what you did next! popcorn::

great pics of your new room! Sorry about the smudges and fingerprints! The pics of the grounds are so beautiful! can't wait for the pics of dinner!!

Great pictures of the bash party and the new room/surrounds. Your pictures are making me seriously think about doing the mad dash in October for 3 days!!

The first time I stayed there I had a less than Disney experience. I only booked there because the conference was being held there. 3 years later the conference returned there and I tried it again. Much better experience even though I too had to change rooms, at my request. Third time over New Years and I am really looking forward to either a family trip or the next conference there. Give it another try.

I got sucked in too. You can see by my tickers below and I just booked that July trip to see the parade and fireworks. :rotfl2:

Ew.. about the smudges and finderprints. That would gross me out.

The view is very pretty though. CSR looks like a great place to stay. I love the bedspreads.

Great Block Party pics Katie! Fun to see the other float, we were right by the Toy Story one and never saw the inside of the Monsters Inc. one! It's a great parade, VERY high energy! CSR looks so beautiful!! Those fountains are gorgeous!! The updated rooms look so nice there too!!! Looking forward to more!!!!!!

I would like to see it next time from closer to the front with the toys to see what differences there are.

All the Casitas have fountains in their courtyards except the one I was in because of course the pool was there. It really is a beautiful part of the resort and I was SO glad I had decided to move. Best of all, the bus stop was really close so it was very fast getting to the busses and back!

That's too bad about the smudges and such in your room. You think that housekeeping would have just let themselves in, weird.

Shelby has arrived!

I was very confused about why they didn't let themselves in :confused3

Our first dinner is coming up!

Ewww to the smudges that is not good! I like to have a clean room when I'm on vacation! At least you didn't let it get to you too much!!

Great pictures of the parade...looks like a lot of fun!!

YAY for the arrival of Shelby Can't wait to hear all about your dinner plans!

I figured getting worked up about it wouldn't help but it was disappointing they didn't get taken care of! Block Party Bash is a blast and I had a great time, even solo which I wondered how I would do.

Katie, nice update. Sorry about the smudges...that would bother me too (I keep reading how mousekeeping is going downhill at just about every resort :sad2:). That is a MUCH better veiw; we had a view like that one of our stays in Casitas 4 -- love it.

Given I had paid for a standard view, that room was a pleasant surprise! I was completely expecting to overlook the parking lot

How odd that mousekeeping didn't just let themselves in, and odder still that they never cleaned it even after it was brought to their attention :sad2:

Great parade pics!

That was what really got me. I called to bring it to their attention, I simply asked them to leave a note for tomorrows workers to pay a little more attention to those spots. I wasn't really expecting anyone to come out right then.

Love the pics of your room. Sorry it wasn't that clean. I have heard that many times before here on the Dis. I stayed at Pop last year and ours rooms were clean or else I would have complained. Wonder why they didn't let themselves in.

I choose to believe that the rest of the room was immaculate!! If it had been the bed or bathroom, I would have had to make a much bigger fuss!

Eewww about the smudges and fingerprints all in your new room. But the view from the new room looks pretty-:) -I'm sure it beat your old room.

It sure was great to step out from our room and see that sight! We didn't use the pool but it sure was nice to look at!

I'm sure she thought I was trying to scam one of her drinks but I really was just trying to be helpful...really :rolleyes1

dinner coming up next!

Nice. :cool2:

Such a pretty place!
I know I say this about every Disney resort. I mean it about all of them.

I know it will never happen for me but it sure would be fun to stay at each resort at least once!

Beautiful pictures of CSR! I've never been attracted to that resort, because of the conventioneers, but it's growing on me.

The convention center definitely makes a difference in the flow of things but with so many people staying at the resort, getting to the parks and back was a breeze!

The new view is much improved! I just booked some friends to stay there in July. I hope they have fun I am still not convinced I am going to overcome my dislike and stay there. Coronado will probably be the last resort marked off my list.

Aww Jill, what happened that you dislike it so much?

Ewww, can't believe those smudges stayed for your entire trip! Not cool. On a positive note, your pool view is beautiful!

smudges = bad!
beautiful room = makes up for them a bit!

We only went to pepper market once but the quesadilla was WAY cheesy which is always good!!

I don't have a clue why she didn't let herself in :confused3

great pics of your new room! Sorry about the smudges and fingerprints! The pics of the grounds are so beautiful! can't wait for the pics of dinner!!

It was nice to wander through the courtyards and admire the fountains, very peaceful!

If the jetlag wouldn't get you, I would be tempted to suck up the rediculously long flight! But I'm sure that's easier in theory than in practice! Hope your DH enjoys

Yes, but Princess has a much longer commute there than you would! ;)

Ew.. about the smudges and finderprints. That would gross me out.

The view is very pretty though. CSR looks like a great place to stay. I love the bedspreads.

The bed decor is really lovely, the colors are understated and the Disney-ess is subtle which I appreciate!

After a day filled with golf lessons, a lunchtime visit from some family and an afternoon at the pool...I fulfill my promise of a SECOND update in 1 day :cool1:

Day 2 STILL!!

The taxi dropped us off at our dinner destination and we had only a minute to snap a couple pictures on our way in

florida2010619.jpg

I had been dreaming of wilderness lodge for so long and it did not disappoint!! We checked in at Artist Point and were given a buzzer despite the fact that the restaurant was half empty. No worries, we would find SOMETHING to do at the bar! We sat down and perused the menu a bit. There were only a couple other people there so the bartender was very friendly and helpful, he even sat down and discussed some of the drink options and made some suggestions. Shelby ordered the sangria and I ordered some sort of citrus/rum drink. Rolando went to make our drinks and Shelby suddenly saw something else on the menu she wanted instead so I went over to the bar and asked if he would make it for her.

When he brought our drinks, he set in front of us a sangria and Shelby’s mango mojito. I hated to tell him that he had made the 2 drinks Shelby had ordered instead of mine. He looked a bit embarrassed and told us the sangria was on the house and he would go make mine, SCORE! He came back a minute later and handed me a magical star cocktail. As soon as he set it down, he realized it was also the wrong drink (I had discussed the 2 drinks with him so I understand his confusion) At this point, he told us to enjoy all the drinks…no charge, SUPER SCORE!

We snapped a quick picture of Shelby with Rolando, left a major tip and headed off to our waiting table.

florida2010622.jpg

Some shots of our drinks. Mango mojito (I don’t care for mango but Shelby loved this and ordered it a couple times on our trip)

florida2010624.jpg

Magical star cocktail. It was good, but I partly ordered this because I knew my boys would love the flashing ice cube

florida2010625.jpg

Sangria. I must say, I’m not normally a fan because I really prefer white wine but this was VERY good!

florida2010630.jpg

The bread came

florida2010629.jpg

And I admired the restaurant

florida2010635.jpg

I love the décor of WL and I was really bummed we got here so late and didn’t get a chance to take it all in. I’m a huge fan of craftsman architecture and this reminded me so much of the great lodges of the western national parks (a strong contender for Disney vacations in my mind!)

I started my meal with
Smokey Portobello Soup - with Roasted Shiitakes and Chive Oil $9

florida2010631.jpg

This was absolutely AMAZING!!! Very rich and creamy with a nice smoky tone. The roasted mushrooms on top were crispy and delish!

Shelby chose
Mixed Greens Salad - with Roasted Pear and Champagne Vinaigrette, Black Diamond Cheddar, and Candied Hazelnuts $10
florida2010632.jpg

It was pretty good, she liked the candied nuts and I thought the cheese was awesome

Entrees were a harder decision because I love bison steak and don’t get it often but I wasn’t thrilled with how it was prepared so I asked for
Grilled Beef Tenderloin - with roasted fingerling potatoes, sauteed baby spinach, blue cheese fritter and port wine reduction $40
But subbed the beef with the bison striploin

florida2010636.jpg

I was very happy! I was expecting that blue cheese fritter to be like a hush puppy but it turned out to be a big hunk of blue cheese battered and fried…YUM!

Shelby choose
Marinated Grilled Berkshire Pork Chop - with butternut squash ravioli, wild mushroom ragout, and roasted garlic demi-glaze $31

florida2010637.jpg

She doesn’t normally order pork but had decided this trip would be a good chance to break out of her patterns. She liked the ravioli a lot and thought the pork was OK, she didn’t care as much for the mushroom ragout, just too many for her taste I think

For dessert I went with
Artist Point Cobbler - Seasonal berries and housemade black raspberry ice cream $9

florida2010640.jpg

And Shelby choose some sort of chocolate dessert not on the AllEars menu

florida2010639.jpg

I’d had chocolate cake the night before at CG so that’s why I went with the berry dessert but that was no cake! It was sort of a cross between fudge and ganache and was SO good. It came with some berries and a hazelnut brittle. Shelby hadn’t ordered the berry dessert because she doesn’t like fruit ice cream but she really likes sorbet which this was really closer to. Turns out we liked each other’s choice better and ended up trading after sharing several bites

After dinner we stopped for just a few minutes to make a wish (which still hasn’t come true for me, and NO it was not for another baby!)

florida2010642.jpg

florida2010643.jpg

and of course I had to say Hi to Humphrey

florida2010644.jpg

I know it’s not everyones taste but I just love this style, I dream of a home with details like this floor…

florida2010641.jpg

It was dark when we left so I missed seeing the geyser…something to put on my next time list! But this turned out nice.

florida2010649.jpg

Finally we headed to the boat dock because our day was NOT over!!

florida2010653.jpg

Aww Jill, what happened that you dislike it so much?

I hate the way Pepper Market is set up. We are huge food court people and I do not like the way they have this one. The little grab and go that they did have was crazy prices even for Disney and then I encountered a hateful CM. Just not a great experience so I am currently avoiding it and maybe I will give it another chance eventually. I'm sure Brooklynn would love the pool over there since she is now a water slide girl!

What great updates!! I'm sorry your room was icky though. I'm not really a germaphone but obviously that room was NOT clean. Bummer.

Your food looks delish! I will definitely have to put that Artist Point on my list, especially because Wilderness Lodge is my dream resort and I've never even see it. I just love that style too. :goodvibes

Oh my gosh, that soup sounds delish! I may have to put Artist Point on my list just to be able to try that soup!

I finally made it back over here and got all caught up again! You got some great pics of HS. And yay for free drinks! :yay: I know someone else who really liked a blinking ice cube...:rolleyes1
