Our dinner at Sanaa

We celebrated by son's birthday here with a custom zebra cake. It was a yellow cake with amarula mousse filling and white chocolate icing. It was FABULOUS!

We loved the bread service! We ordered four orders of Naan (not the other breads because the Naan is so fantastic!) We tried all the dips and they were all great!

Service--spotty--hot and cold. Had a lot of the disappearing server syndrome...

Atmosphere--start to finish fantastic in every way. The native singers (for birthdays etc.) are wonderful! What a GORGEOUS restaurant!

Entrees--solid. I have a couple of sons who really dislike curry so that was difficult. My parents enjoyed their steaks. I felt the stewed ribs were just like my pot roast with lots of cinnamon added. I liked the red chicken curry. One of my sons hated his shrimp in green curry--but that's him--he's picky.
My 23 year old claimed this to be his favorite meal. He loved those short ribs...

French presses of Kenya AA were enjoyed here with the birthday cake.

I tried some of the famed chai creme for dessert and loved it! I will order it again.

I can't wait to come back to Sanaa!

Oh, yeah...I just wanted to add that initially we only order two of the orders of bread service, but the naan was so yummy we sent for two more.

Thanks for the review! Sanaa has quickly become one of my fav places @ WDW...I have eaten there 9 times already and it's only been open just over a year And next week I will be making a ressie @ the 6 month mark for dinner there for the 1st day of my trip in Dec.

We had dinner at Sanaa this past Tuesday. DH and I are vegetarian but kids are not. DD doesn't eat much so shared with us. DS had the tomato soup/cheese toast appetizer and since he doesn't eat much meat they made a meat free entree for him. He loved his meal!

DH, who is Indian, said this was possibly the best Indian food he had ever eaten. I had to agree. Our meal was superb. We wanted to squeeze in another meal there before we left but didn't have time. Can't wait to go again during our September trip. The food here is truly phenomenal.

Service.....started out pretty good....but declined as the meal progressed. I think our server was a bit put off that DH and I shared an entree (two curries and rice) and the dessert sampler. Honestly, with two appetizers and bread service that was MORE than enough food. I couldn't have eaten another bite. And since we were not on the DDP we were paying OOP and were trying to keep the cost of the meal down (was $75 with tip). I guess his disappointment was due to the fact the gratuity is calculated based on the amount spent and the restaurant was not crowded at all that night so I'm guessing he didn't make a killing in tips that night. He wasn't inattentive.....just became a little, for lack of a better word, rude toward the end of the meal. We will still go back here again and again - just hope the service is a little "nicer" next time.

I'm one of those "don't like curry" people, and I loved my meal at Sanaa because I stayed away from the curry dishes. (Anything with the red or green curry, no thanks!) The entree I chose was the sustainable fish, which was an arctic char. It came with shrimp and scallops and was fantastic.

I like the bread service appetizer, too. That with my entree and I was a happy camper.

I have only been there for lunch and have always been very happy with Sanaa. One of my friends ate lunch there for the first time yesterday. I will have to hear what she thought.
I am not a curry person either. But I do like theirs. It's flavorful, but not overpowering.
Love their Chai cream (or creme) dessert. I would like to think they still offer that. It was heavenly.

Two orders is a good start. You can always ask for more like we did! The problem is, it really does fill you up. You might want to limit it to two and then, after your meal is done order more if you're still hungry.

With 8 people I'd go with two orders to start also; and next time we are going with 100% naan also. That is a good idea. We liked them all, but the naan was the big winner with mhy family.

I'm glad all of the reviews of Sanaa here are positive. It makes me want to give it another try.

My family had a less than stellar experience there with both food and service. In all fairness, there were certain things that we truly enjoyed (the bread service that everyone is raving about is truly wonderful and the short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender). However, a few things were not up to par. For example, I had the shrimp in green curry sauce. The shrimp were overcooked and the green curry sauce was unappetizing. As I've listened to your reviews, I think I might enjoy the meal better if I ordered the fish.

The restaurant itself is georgeous! I think everyone should eat here at least once.

Yes, my picky 6 year old LOVED Sanaa!!!

We cannot wait! We have an ADR here on our AK day for lunch (1pm). We heard it's a great place to lunch because of the views, and the food of course. We love Indian food (and ethnic foods in general), so it should be a nice treat for our family.

We had two dinners here last weekend. Service was impeccable both nights! The first night, the kitchen was a little off - scallop app's took forever, so they brought us a bowl of complimentary soup, then when we did get scallops they were undercooked and when they finally came out done correctly, we had our entrees, so they took it off the bill which was nice. Rice pudding for dessert was not like any rice pudding I've had, I think the rice was raw it was so rock hard! All that being said, the atmosphere, service and entrees were so good we decided to give it another try and were so glad we did. We walked in the second time w/o an ADR and were able to be seated w/in 15 min. b/c of a no-show. Lucky us!!! Highly recommend!

We will be eating at Sanaa and Boma for the first time in November and can't wait! I have loved reading everyone's reviews and am now starving!
