Let's hear what unusual Disney souvenirs you have purchased. Pics if you have them.

Way back in 1997, I bought a balloon ball for my DD. They were very new then. She just had to have one. The pattern on it was the Earth. It was semi-educational at the same time cause it had continent names and areas of interest. It wasn't Disney but she alway referred to the ball as her Disney ball.

Our Minnie jewel-crusted wine stopper. Spent a ridiculous amount of $ for a wine stopper, but I HAD to have it. Love it.

The pewter wine goblets and pitchers sold in Germany.. I fell in love with them and started buying new pieces each trip... as of last trip I had them all but I am hoping they have a new piece or two next month.
Oh and a ceramic giraffe my DD bought me at ALK 2 years ago.. I collect giraffes and this one is so beautiful..
Everytime I look at either they make me happy and I think of WDW...

We have a stationary phone that is Mickey Mouse. Everytime it rings it's Mickey's voice telling us "we have a phone call, I wonder who it could be."
We all smile everytime it rings.
I actually didn't get it at WDW but at a second hand shop. My 3 year old wouldn't leave the store without it!!

My favorite souvenir is my bathrobe from the Disney Institute. I loved the DI and am sad that it's gone. I took a photo class there years ago and saw the robe while browsing in the gift shop. It was expensive so I didn't act immediately but on our last day as we headed out to the airport I decided I had to have it. It was a good investment, it's probably been at least 8 or 9 years and it's still good as new. I also have a DI t-shirt that I "baby" so it doesn't wear out...LOL. Just wish I had a souvenir from River Country!

WOW! River Country. I forgot about that park! I really loved the slides there. I wish I have gone to the discovery cove (??) back then too. My mom and dad have some great pictures of that place with all the flowers, plants and birds.

How about our "DOOM BUGY" License plate?

There was also the mouse ears pepper grinder, but maybe I'm a Disney nut, cause I don't find that that weird. :)

This is from our past trip this March.

My husband is REALLY into barbeque and he saw the tubs of cotton candy with Goofy on it. He turns to me and says, "Hey Babe, Bela (our niece) can eat the candy and then I can use these tubs for baked beans!"

Ha! So now we have Goofy tubs in our tupperware drawer for his beans.

Lets see we went to Disney World for our Honeymoon and exactly 9 months to the day we had our son! But it could have had something to do with the second souvenir it was a horrible ugly monkey head cup you purchased at Pleasure Island and then you could get a mighty powerful adult beverage for only a few dollars when you brought it back. Kinda like the resort mugs but adult version.:rotfl:

My favorite souvenirs are ones that aren't so obviously Disney. I love a handcarved jewelry box I bought in a shop in Harambe in 2000. I always go back and look to see if they have anything like it, but they never do :confused3. And it was cheap to boot! My other favorite is a watercolor picture of the water mill at POR. It hangsin our living room and people always comment on how much they like it. When I tell them what it is, they are always so surprised. WDW is not all Mickey Mouse and Princesses people! :rotfl: I only wish I had more than one. Hopefully they will be there next time.

:santa::santa:The Animation Academy at HS allows you to draw characters under the skilled directions of an animator. In May, 09 and Dec, 09, my wife and I attended the 30 minute class OFTEN and now both have portfolios with many character sketches some even signed by characters at meet and greets!
Should make great inheritances to our grandchildren!

my favorite? the Christmas ornaments. Our first trip was over a holiday and we bought several, now we add each trip and it's amazing all the memories they bring back every December when we unwrap them.

My husband's? the mouse ears bottle opener we bought in the kitchen shop at DD - one of those not so "in your face" things that we use frequently, and it always gets smiles.

And the kids? that's easy. Their lanyard pins.

The replica of the keys the dog has in the pirates of the carribean movies haha they are so ridiculous I used them for my pirate halloween costume in 2007. I took my BFF on her first disney trip ever october 08 for my sweet sixteen we had an amazing time and she saved a water bottle full of the water in the pirates of the carribean ride cause "Johnny Depp was on this ride! WHAT IF HE TOUCHED THE WATER?!!! WHO ISNT TEMPTED TO TOUCH THE WATER! HE PROBABLY TOUCHED THIS WATER!!!!" That water bottle sits on her dresser haha. I also save stickers, maps, a shopping bag or two anything from my disney trips that I can and put it in a memory box full of movie/concert tickets and other things like that.

One year, I tried bringing seeds back from one of the beautiful flowering plants on the grounds at OKW. I couldn't get them to germinate. :(

Okay, I'm almost embarrassed to share this since I KNOW some folks won't understand...my most unusual disney souvenir is something my daughter collects for me on each trip. When you do rope drop opening at the magic kingdom they throw mickey confetti in the air. As we go into the park my daughter will always bend down and grab a few pieces of confetti for me and I carry it in my purse and see it every time I open my wallet. My own personal pixie dust that lasts me from trip to trip!!!!!

Oh, I absolutely understand and would treasure something like that too. It's the "little" things that can make such a big difference.

At the time my oldest was 3 and my youngest was 15 months old. We went to AK and ate lunch at Restaurantasaurus (sp?) that serves McD food at least at that time not sure if they still do. My oldest got a kids meal and inside of it was a Dino Water Gun. My youngest took it from her big sister and still has it from 2005.

I grabbed the 'please re use your towel' card from the vanity at our hotel and put it in our bathroom at home..tired of washing towels.it didnt help, in fact, the card didnt last very long at our home..:headache:
