Need to find some kind of earphones that actually stay in place!

Help!! I don't know what the problem is but I have gone through 4-5 sets of earplugs in the past few months. I have tried the over-the-ears type, the around-the-ears type, the head-band type & and the in-the-ear-canal type...no luck. Everything falls out of my ears, and I am constantly adjusting them which is a pain when I'm doing something active like exercising or doing housework. Ugh!

Where can I get a pair of earphones that actually stay in place?

Go to a local audiologist and have custom ear molds made. It's the best thing that I ever did!

I don't really have an answer, but I know what you are talking about. I think one of my ears is bigger than the other. One earbud will stay in, but the other one will fall out. I use the over the ear ones. That's the only thing that sort of stays in my ear. I have even used the inner ear ones, but they were just kind of uncomfortable.

I have Sony ones. Yes they were pricier, but they have volume control and come with different sized buds.

I know where you're coming from, I'm beyond picky.

Two of my boys and I have the Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds. They come with 3 different size earpieces so you'd be able to mix and match to what fits best for you. My 8 yr old and I both use the smallest ones and my oldest uses the medium ones.

Buying Sony's Bumpin Buds was the best thing I've ever done for my ears! It comes with interchangeable soft pieces that fit on the end of the earphones to fit your ears. They sound quality is awesome and they aren't even that expensive at less than 20 dollars :cool1:

I recommend the good 'old bulky head sets with full ear covers. I use them on planes and my kids use them with their DVD players in the car. They make some that are pretty fancy these days. And, if you want real high tech/high quality, go for Bose. You can get noise reduction/ear phones in Bose that are awesome for air travel and listening to music/dvd's.

Thanks for the advice so far! I wish that you got a return policy on the headphones I've bought recently and haven't worked with my ears!

I must have really weird ears. Hmmm....

The skull candy Ink'd ones fit well and sound really good for me.

My Mom has had the same problem as the thread starter. She has gone thru numerous pairs for her Ipod since they fall out or are uncomfy. She finally bought some Nike Sport ones (in white headband style) at Best Buy before our WDW trip a few weeks ago and LOVES them. She said ther were worth the 30 bucks since they are so comfortable and dont fall out.

We use Philips SH3910 headphones in our house. They have a neckband and actually fit at the back of your neck and go over your ears.

Earbuds are not used, except as a last resort in our house. I just had to buy a pair, as my son realized that he forgot his Nintendo DS headphones at home. I got a cheap pair at the Dollar Store.

We just don't like the earbuds being in our ears. The ones we use are comfortable, and don't hurt our ears.

They are relatively inexpensive too.

Check these guys out. I work out at the local YMCA and one of guys works there. They are custom made, not sure about cost, but have hears they rock. No punn intended.

I absolutely hate earbuds, and ponied up for these. They look a little large, but they are very light, and I can hardly hear anything from outside. Sound quality is great, and the price was even better IMO. Gave up on buds a while back, and the smaller over the head/behind the ear models seem to wear out, so I decided to go a little old school with my next choice.
