wind blowin',sun shinin',Soarin'on a magical celebration!April/10: Final thoughts!

off to "Pirate's of the Carribbean" with only a 10 min wait...we actually walked right on with a very small wait at the very end to get into our pirate ship!

a picture from the same area from last year!

no pictures from the ride; my camera takes terrible pictures without the flash so I didn't even try this year...

after getting off the ride we found a restroom, found the stroller and ECV and were on our way...as we were walking I told Danny I really want a Dole whip...so he and I shared a soft serve version, mom and dad shared the juice and soft serve version...it was soooooo yummy! Ashton shared with us both  after a short Dole whip break we were off to find the dangerous jungle cruise we had heard tall tales about (we missed this last year--so it was a fun adventure)...

our cruise continues in the next post...will we make it ?!?

look in the corner the little blue hat (I thought I had caught her face) she and Ashton were tripping on what our guide was saying...at one point they both looked a little scared...than it was funny because they were looking at him like he was crazy :rotfl:

well, we made it back through the jungles safe and sound! and were off again...

Just before we were getting on our jungle cruise we had felt a few rain drops...so, we had decided that after our jungle trek we would head back to the resort for maybe a quick dip in the pool (if we made it before the weather) and a bite to eat...our hopes was that the rain would pass quickly and we would be able to return after a short break and rest for EMH...after all I still had to ride BTMRR!, Peter Pan, and I really wanted to do HM at night...along with riding Buzz and the Fantasyland rides all again...THAT WAS THE PLAN! :rolleyes1

well, as we were walking out something blue caught the corner of my eye...what could it be?!?

After meeting with Lilo and Stitch (they were GREAT! by the way; there was a little boy before us who had a stitch doll; Lilo stole the doll and ran away hugging it...the little boy just stood there with this lost look to his face and Ashton says really loud "Lilo is not very nice...she took his toy!" with that she turned around and gave the little boy his doll and acted as though she was going to cry...Stitch came over and gave her a big hug!)...
so, from here we worked our way out to the resort bus...

We were unable to return to Magic Kingdom sunday night...the one and thank goodness only rain storm we were to have was that night. It was a major downpour...we made it to our resort as we exited off the bus the rain started, we walked through Classic Hall to our bldg with out getting too wet. We went up to our room refreshed a little, watched the weather channel, found the older kids in their room. Dayne had told me that he and Luke were invited to EMH at DHS with the cheerleaders (DHS was open by invitation only until 2 am)... the older kids had just finished eating and we were heading there next.

By the time we left our room (which could not have been more than 15 min) it was storming (I had given Dayne and Luke their ponchos for the evening), got Ashton dressed in his rain gear, opened Danny and I's heavy duty rain ponchos (I bought the heavy duty ones this year, after last years monsoon), we met mom and dad outside their room. I had asked them if they had their ponchos (I told dad to buy some when they decided to join us at the last minute--I had found some at the local Dollar General and sent him there). So, he ran into the room to grab their poncho's. As we were in ther elevator Danny and I were putting on our poncho's and covering Ashton and the stroller with the stoller cover. As I pick up my eyes (I sooooo wish I would have taken a picture for you guys....so you just have to picture it) I see a picture on the package in my dad's hand; do I see this correctly?!?
hmmmmm...... Dad is that a picture of batman and dora the explorer on your rain ponchos?!?
:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:
he bought children's ponchos! they were soooo cute! (I told him the ponchos were $5 so he just grabbed the $5 ponchos!:confused3)...
Danny gave mom his poncho and he and dad just ran for it...

we walked over to "Everything Pop" after putting away all the rain gear...
Mom, Dad, and I had the fried chicken that they serve on sunday night along with mashed potatoes and green beans...it was soooo yummy. Danny had a double burger and Ashton had hot dog and fries along with food from my plate. Mom, Dad, Ashton and I went walk through the store from there...they sell the new Crossban Crocs (mickey style) and they also sell (gosh I thought I took a picture and cannot find it) "FIT FLOPS" like the tennis shoes but flip flops...

by this time it was really coming down! so we decided to call it a night...we knew that no one was making EMH and I would have to figure out a new night to catch "Wishes" and "Spectro magic"...Dayne and Luke were headed to DTD with some of the cheerleaders and were still hoping to head over to DHS...I found out the next morning they ended up just haniging out at "EVerything Pop" eating Pizza and just hanging out!
later that night I was awaken to some really bad lighting and thunder...but was so happy the next morning to see Dayne and Luke safe in their bed and the weather was beautiful...

up next...breakfast with Donald and friends...:donald:

Hi Connie! Congratulations to Dayne on his graduation! That is wonderful! Also, I loved your parade pictures! We missed that parade and I kept trying to tell myself it was okay, but now I'm really sad we didn't get to see it! :sad2:

Another side note - do you think they came up with "Grand Gatherings" as a way to help ease some of the pain of travelling with large groups?? :lmao:
Thanks! for that laugh! with the GG...
it was a really cute parade you'll just have to catch it next time...now you just have another reason to go back soon!

YAY!!! Congrats to Dayne!!! :goodvibes
Dayne said "Thank you! very much"

Congratulations to Dayne!!!! :cool1::banana::yay::woohoo:
Thank you!

My Paige is graduating on Sunday. I feel so old to have 2 children graduated! Thanks goodness for my little one. She keeps me young
We must have kids close to the same age! and both be young mom's at these there graduation's!:goodvibes

Congratulations! to you, your DH, and of course Paige!:cheer2:

First off, CONGRATULATIONS to Dayne!!!! That's wonderful!!

I'm loving your last few updates!!! We didn't get to see a parade last year, it was too, too hot in the afternoons, the pool breaks always won. So I enjoyed your pics. We'll have to make sure we do see it in sept though. At least we'll have the boo to you parade at MNSSHP!!!

Can't wait for more!
Pam it is a really cute parade! I'm sure the girls will love it...but, I'm sure the MNSSHP parade is just as cute and alot cooler to catch...I hope you guys are able to catch them both!

Too funny about your dad buying children's ponchos.

Bummer about not getting to go out anywhere that night and missing the parade and Wishes. Keeping fingers crossed that you worked it in on another night of the trip.

Connie, love the pics of Dayne's graduation and the updated pictures of your day at the park. Sorry about the weather...but glad to see the next morning it was a beautiful day.

Sorry I'm behind Connie. You know I've been super busy at work trying to get things ready for when I leave.

Your pictures are fantastic! I like how you take them from your perspective and then some from Ashton's perspective. I used to give Hunter a camera and let him take pictures when he was little so I could see what he was seeing.

Ashton looks like he was having a great time but I can tell he was getting tired.

Too funny about your dad buying the children's ponchos! Too bad you didn't have a picture.

Great great updates Connie!!!

First off, CONGRATULATIONS DAYNE!! What a wonderful accomplishment!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Loved reading all about your MK day!!! That was a big storm Sunday night! We made it back from Epcot just in time also!! I was so happy that the rain stayed away the rest of the week too! Sorry it ruined your Spectro and Wishes plans, hopefully you guys still got to see it!! I did a lot of "we'll get back to that later" and never made it back to things too! Looking forward to hearing about your breakfast!!!!!!!:woohoo:

Congrats to Dayne on graduating!!!

Great update too. Sounds like you had a great MK day. I'm planning on trying a Dole Whip this year. I've been meaning to do it for two years and I think this trip is going to be the one that it happens on. :goodvibes

Sorry about the rain but at least it was only one night and not 7 days right! :goodvibes

I enjoyed your parade pics immensely!! We missed that one sadly. Such a great idea to get some pics from Ashton's point of view too!!:goodvibes

Congrats to Dayne!!! Great graduation pics!

I love the Jungle Cruise! It's cheesy, but it never gets old to me!

Hee hee!! I'm cracking up over the children's ponchos!!! :lmao: Too funny! Yeah--I think I could take one night of rain over 7 full days anyday, right?! The pics with Lilo and Stitch are precious!!

Good grief! I can't believe I'm such a BAD DISfriend. :guilty: I missed 13 pages...but thankfully only one day!

Sorry about the rain and the headaches of traveling with such a large group. I keep thinking it would be fun to travel with my brother and sister-in-law and their girls, but then I think about the realities of ALL those people and the way I like to tour the parks and think.....maybe not!

Ashton looks like he is having so much fun! I love all the character pics! We met Lilo and Stitch in that same place a few weeks ago! Love them!

Well....I'm here now and ready to be a part of this trip!! Can't wait for more!! ;)

It really was one of many great moments! We did make it another night but gave up meeting several dis friends to do so...

Connie, love the pics of Dayne's graduation and the updated pictures of your day at the park. Sorry about the weather...but glad to see the next morning it was a beautiful day.
Thanks! It was a nice sultry morning and day to follow...but, isn't that how Animal Kingdom usually feel

Ashton was having a great time with ALL the attention! and yes he was getting tired. I think I'm getting him the children's digital for Christmas so we can start recording his sights in the future.
Great great updates Connie!!!

I hope you get a chance to get one (although I know you will not read this until you get back now:rolleyes1)...and yes I night of rain is definately better than a week of rain!
Bummer about the rain
Yumm, Dole Whips, can't wait till I can have one again!
Congrats to Dayne on graduating!
Thanks! Sara --you'll be having one very very soon! I can't believe your dream stay is almost here!

Alicia, Ashton and the little girl across from us was so funny as our guide was hamming it up! I guess they thought he was serious :lmao:

Hee hee!! I'm cracking up over the children's ponchos!!! :lmao: Too funny! Yeah--I think I could take one night of rain over 7 full days anyday, right?! The pics with Lilo and Stitch are precious!!
Thanks! Becky I hope you guys are able to miss the rain this week also...can't wait to hear all about it!

You are here now! :yay: I bet if you let them know your touring style it would be great. My biggest problem was my parents planned to keep up with us (and mom can't) so the older kids and Danny were ready to fly...and I wanted to ride a few rides with Danny :confused3.... but, I just gave in (isn't that what most mom's do) and hung out with my parents and let Danny hang out with the kids...
Enjoying your trip report! Planning to follow along.

:goodvibes
:welcome: to my TR! Annie Thanks! hope to keep it enjoyable!

Congratulations! on your upcoming trip home!!! I can't wait to hear all about it...I had seen on Leanne's PTR that you plan a TR be sure to let me know!:thumbsup2

GREAT update!!! We loved Pirates and the JC! Ashton looked SO happy to see Lilo and Stitch :goodvibes Sorry that you could not make it back to MK~but the kid poncho story is soooo funny!! Glad your son made it back safe and looking forward to seeing what you do :goodvibes

Oh, crappy rain, but glad to hear that it was the only day! We enjoyed lilo and stitch too. He took my daughter's pen and wasn't giving it back and then threw one of our autograph books on the ground. Ashton certainly looks happy to see them!

Great update, Connie!! I was LMAO:lmao:picturing your Mom & Dad in the Batman and Dora poncos!! I wish you had a picture!! :rotfl2: Bummer your night was cut short by the storm, but thankfully the next morning was back to sunny skies!:thumbsup2

I love the pictures you and Ashton took together. :) I know I need to figure out about a hat--I am not a fan of them but I really do not like sunburns on my head either! :lmao: Hats seem the lesser of the two evils.

Whew, I am glad you only had one rain storm. Sounds like you made the best of the night as you could. Dayne and Luke seem to be having a great time too. I am not surprised they hooked up with the cheerleaders :rolleyes1
