DISmoms Round TWO! Don't Axe, Don't Tell!! 4/30-5/4/10 updates 9/17

I also should have added in my other post that I did not know you could order take out soup and pretzel bread from Le Cellier. This information has changed my life I think. Haha. I love steak don't get me wrong but one of the main reasons I go to Le Cellier is for the pretzel bread and soup. I am def. doing this for my October trip. Thank you for the information!

You're welcome- and I know how you feel- I was pretty excited when I read that little take-out factoid, too! :thumbsup2

To have "Sunshine Day" stuck in your head. :scared:

Regarding not driving at night, I cannot "see" well in darkness, driving or just walking. I tend not to see the opening for driveways, etc., if walking, I miss seeing the edges of curbs, etc. I see fine when it is light, with and without my glasses but once the light is dim I am a dangerous driver or walker. It is no big deal, I just have other folks drive for me. It is just one of those little hiccups we all have in our lives. The plus side, I am never scheduled to teach a night class nor an 8:00 a.m. class. ;)

Opps, edited to add, sushi was very good. It is the first time I have had eel on sushi and I liked it!

Glad to hear it's nothing serious! :goodvibes Oh- and it wasn't just Sunshine Day...it morphed into, "We're gonna keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on, dancin' all through the night!" complete with all the Brady dance moves and hair swinging. Oops...Oh CRAP!!!!

Hello Ladies :wave2:
Joining in very late here but love your TR
The photos are great and you look like you are having an absolute blast
Can't wait to read more of your adventures popcorn::

Hi there Linda!! Not that late- it's only the second day! Very happy you've joined us!! :cutie:

aahhhhhh......great breakfast food porn to start my day!! Great update, Ellen. We LOVE Kona, but I've never been there for breakfast. As you know, we usually do the Deluxe Dining Plan, and I still contend that the best use of 1TS credit on the dining plan is either Le Cellier or Kona.

ahhh....Kara wearing the now-infamous flip flops of pain. Looks like Cammie and Kara were having trouble walking a straight line....or at least walking like an Egyptian. (Shouldn't there be an Egypt in the WS?)

Love the "All the single riders....All the single riders....whoa oh oh...if you like it then you shoulda got a FastPass for it! (sorry...just trying to contribute.)

Great update! Looking forward to Kona breakfast!

Flip flops of pain....... yes, yes they were!!!! I thought Egypt was where the Ditch is? There IS a pyramid there, right? ;)

Love your version of the song, and yes, I'm singing loud and proud right now!!!

Holy updates Ellen! I can't keep up - had a little too much "fun" at my 5 hour lunch with a girlfriend yesterday and still trying to recuperate..... Back to add MY comments later!!!!

Again, it's not "lucky" I thought you were going to try to rhyme in your limerick....... My poor poor puppy......

Great updates Ellen....Just when I thought I could see ALL pictures at work - darn - foiled again. My office computer still has the blocker and I am trying to hide from an ex-patient who is on the hunt to get narcotics. I don't want to say too much except this guy already went "psycho" on me on the phone. Jeckyl and Hyde type personality. Nuf said!

Despite the lack of pictures (which I will view tonight from the comfort of my own home), I love all the fun you are having. Sake flight - yum. So much alcohol I missed this trip cause I had to go back on Flagyl. :sad2: I really enjoyed the sake there last June. I am sure the food was amazing!

Kona cafe is still on my must do list. I have got to try those pancakes!

Poor Joan freezing her A$$ off on the couch! brrrrrhhhhh! I will say that the temperature was perfect at the WL villas.

We were going to try Kona for dinner in November on the night we left WDW for the Darkside- but ended up canceling and having dinner at HRH instead. It's on my list for must-do's for November 2011- hoping to stay at BLT for that one. Nothing like planning ahead! :goodvibes

What's the matter Kara- a little LACTOSE INTOLERANT from all the chocolate milk???? :rolleyes1

ANd I kept that poem CLEAN as possible- I've gotten in trouble on here for using $$ for SS after another letter, and i don't want to get shut down!! :scared1: Besides, it's harder for me to rhyme with wrong and long or sick and lick....;)

Don't you mean BUTT???? Good luck with the psycho drug addict- sounds like an interesting day you've got there....

For the record, if Ellen refers to TD, she means Tokyo Dining, NOT The Ditch, as I thought...... Guess that shows where MY mind was, huh???

So now here is how I remember that night.....

ImportedPhotos00035.jpg

This was not the woman that named Ellen the smartest DISmom, she is the woman who didn't have a freakin clue what Ellen was saying!!! So if Ellen BELIEVES that she said she was the smartest DISmom, then okay.....

I really hope she uses her tip money to order some of those socks from the 1970's with the individual toes.....

ImportedPhotos00036.jpg

ImportedPhotos00037.jpg

WHERE is my curly straw??????

ImportedPhotos00038.jpg

Am I the only one who noticed the hidden Mickey here?

2010_0504dismoms2010water0093.jpg

I am so glad Ellen and I split the two sushi apps, it was so good and the PERFECT amount of food after eating and drinking around the world......

Now, for the story of Bucky (real name, Buckeye, but we all call him Bucky). Let's just say that he had a, um, er, "issue" a few weeks back and I had to call the vet about it. Something popped up and wouldn't go away.... Vet laughs, tells me it's rare but not dangerous, and next time I might have to take action to "correct" this rare but not dangerous "condition." Uh...... NOT!

How was that for keeping clean for the censors????

I have no idea where all my pics are but I seem to be missing a LOT from this trip!!!!

YUM! Those Kona pics...the food looks fantastic! I swear one day I am going to get that Tonga Toast...but then those pancakes look soooooooo good too! We have not stayed at the Poly yet either (one of the downfalls of living so close that we don't often get the whole WDW vacation "experience") but it is so beautiful...it is really at the top of my list! :thumbsup2

Loving the new TR and loving Kara's new hair!!:thumbsup2 This TR is keeping me sane until my husband and I sneak off to the world to enjoy some adult time sans kids. We even talk about it in code around them..."When Mommy and Daddy go to Jumanji...".:rotfl2:. I'm not sure where we got Jumanji from, but they have no idea what it is..so it works.

Great updates.

Tokyo Dining looks like a great place to eat and if you are lucky enough to get the window an awesome view of Illuminations :)

I love sushi and those pics were making me crave

Kara I noticed the Hidden Mickey, cool pic :thumbsup2

Kona Breakfast looks awesome and I love that you got a mimosa to go with breakfast, fabulous idea :goodvibes

sounds like buckey might need to read the warning that come on those little blue pills. Poor guy. I can only imagine how you guys were laughing at that.

Love the chocolate milk and the kool aid pictures. Tim will have to be the Designated Driver when we go to Epcot....darn staying off property. ( can you tell Im not too excited about it :( )

Hi everyone-
It’s me, Joan, or wannabeadismom….I really need a new name too as I feel that I am truly now a DISMom….and it’s a great thing to be!!! I can’t believe this TR is already nine pages long. No wonder Ellen gave me a stern, “you REALLY need to post on the TR!” today. Sorry about that, Mom! :guilty:
Without going back over everything covered (and we DID do a LOT in the first 24 hours), I only want to say--
1.I absolutely LOVE this picture….It truly portrays the DISMoms2 trip best!
This had to be the most amazing trip of my life. Doing the World with the DisMoms is truly the way to go. Who would believe that I didn’t know four of the women until our arrival!?! I feel like we’ve all been friends forever. Disney has a way of doing that for people.:grouphug:

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms 2010/2010_0504dismoms20100065.jpg

2.I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much in my life….my sides STILL hurt!:lmao:
3.Who is that fat chick eating the cheese soup and pretzels? That can’t be me! (But it was delish!):confused3
4.Skechers tone-ups are life (or feet) savers!:thumbsup2
5.Love, love, LOVE absolutely everything about the Ditch.:cool1:
6.Chocolate milk? Whatever you say, Kara!
7.All the Axe Murderer talk….totally true!:scared1:
8.It was COLD in the LR but, hey, I was in WDW and I’m a tough old Iowa farm girl at heart. I can take it!:cold:
9.BTW, every day was a , “Sunshiny Day!” Ooops, it’s now in MY head!
10.The Samoan at Kona Café….to die for. The perfect breakfast food, especially for me, who really doesn’t like pancakes and the like for breakfast. Lots of delicious smoky, pulled pork…YUM! BTW, birthday shots and sake flight not a good mix,:rolleyes1 however this breakfast made everything all better!
11. OMG, Kara, that poor woman at TD with those socks. They look painful….:rotfl2:
12.Finally, I LOVE being part of a hidden Mickey. It makes me feel SPECIAL!.:goodvibes
Ok, that’s it from me for now. Back to the REAL storytellers……:worship:……

Joan - Great update for something like your 10th post! Very funny! It looks like you are having a great time in every picture Ellen has posted (and in every text message she sent me where you unknowingly giving a pictorial tour of Disney Day 1 to an internet stranger). You are smiling in every picture and I am dying cause I am at work and not scheduled to leave for two more days! :rotfl:

I love your list! Very funny! After that post I think you can consider yourself an official Dismom. You have earned that honor with distinction! :thumbsup2

Love that all you guys are posting on this TR. It just keeps getting funnier!

Ellen - FWIW - my crazy patient never stalked me at work today. But I have a feeling he might come back tomorrow! :scared1: SE CURRRRRRR I TYYYYYYYY!

Mary Ellen

I'm with you on the Tonga Toast--it looks and sounds great, but my blood sugar would not do well with it! :rotfl: That Somoan would my choice, too!

i'm in the mood for some japanese food now after reading about tokyo dining!

sounds like you ladies know how to have some fun! :thumbsup2

It’s me, Joan, or wannabeadismom….

Awesome, Joan is here! I think that is a GREAT photo of you guys.

We also had "coldness" issues at BCVs the first night of our last visit. We ordered extra blankets for the rest of our stay and were very comfortable after the first night. I love BCV, it smells so great! I also love the smell at AKL Jambo - um, I must have something about smells. :rotfl:

Love the update!! Kara i'm ready for more from you!!;) I wanna make that trip one day. insert violins playing sad music for me. But alas, i have one coming up in a little over 30 days. yeah!!

Joan, i think you did a great job of an update.

Ellen, I love all the food porn that you took! I will have to break in my BFF about that soon. My family would just think that i have totally lost it if i start taking pics before they can eat.:lmao:

Not to hijack but Mary Ellen, i so agree about pyscho patients. I cringe when i find out i have patients like that. Had a schizo and a wandering dementia one last weekend. Made for a rough time at work! Enough about work! MUST HAVE MORE!!!!!

Okay I have been following along for the last few days and WOW. It looks like you guys had a great time.

By the way. Pam and I live in the same town and I have to say I am soooo jealous. Looking back now I should have sneaked over to her house and hid in her luggage. :rolleyes1

I am counting down the days to my July trip. Ugghhhh 10 months is too long between trips. You know it's funny some times I think I just don't get to Disney enough then I think about all the people who only get that once in a lifetime trip. I am such a whiner when it comes to WDW.

:lmao: Kara, you absolutely crack me up!! Ellen, you are SOOO busted! The smartest DISmom?....as according to the lady in desperate need of individually-toed socks, circa 1974. That's hilarious!!! I was literally laughing out loud when I read this!! Kara, you rock!

So what you are telling us is that Bucky's "condition" entails him getting lucky? This limerick just keeps getting funnier!

Awesome post, Joan! I know what you mean about feeling like you have known these ladies your whole life. We all met last year on the DISboards, became friends, and got to meet on their DISmoms1 trip, sans axes of course. (Hey....you never know nowadays, right?) It is nice to "meet" you here on the DISboards and I look forward to your updates as well.
