1 Child and 10 Adults--A GG to Celebrate DD's 4th Bday :) TR Link is Posted

Did you enjoy POFQ? I heard that it was really nice. Great Sci-Fi pics! I really want to try that one day :lovestruc

We did like POFQ but we do not live near New Orleans like you do. :goodvibes The pool is nice and the resort, for us, was really quiet. The food court, while busy at times, was never so that we could not get a table the few times we ate there. The bus service was good--only a few times we had to wait for longer than 10 minutes. The night service felt slow but we were tired by that point. With POR and POFQ sharing service, it could be really crowded at night or have to wait for the next one. It is a great resort overall! :thumbsup2

Sci-Fi is such a fun place because of the atmosphere. You should try it!! .

Sorry about IASW :sad2: What fun flashback pics!

It's okay Mary!! There will be so many things to do and see, while I enjoy it, I am sure we will be quite happy with everything else we get to experience.

I love reminiscing about old trips. :goodvibes Can't wait to see more!

I am bummed that IASW will be closed. Ashlyn LOVES it. But at least she's too young to remember that she loved it so she won't miss it. She's starting to get to that age where she is starting to really be attached to stuff, though. Just this past week she's developed a few obsessions. She carries around her stuffed baby Simba (that we got her when we went to WDW in October 2009) absolutely everywhere and she has developed a strong love for Mickey (she just says "Mi-ey") and Minnie ("Mimi"). :)

Ashlyn is adorable! I wish our trips would have worked to have met. I bet she is even cuter in person. :cutie:

Lilian would have loved it but we will go back again some day. Hopefully then it would not be closed.

What great flashback pictures!!! I love going back and seeing older Disney pictures and comparing them to newer ones!

I am looking forward to comparing ones from our first trip to our second. I also want Lilian to take a few photos (not with my new camera :rotfl:) to see her eye's view.

I love flashbacks to earlier trips. You all look so happy at Scifi!

And it's also amazing how little POFQ has changed.

I think that was, I am in Disney glow on all of our faces! :goodvibes It is good to know it has not changed. I wonder if Disney might do a refurb of POR and POFQ with Tiana from there and it not have been refurb in quite a while. Especially since they just did CSR and CBR last year.

Love looking back an other's (and my own) past trips...it is such a fun part of the planning I think, thinking back on what you have done, to look forward to the new trip and things to do...

looking forward to more popcorn::

I am enjoying looking back too! It is making me so excited for our trip. :goodvibes

Love the flashback pics!
(And Hope isn't old. I graduated college in 1993.)

Amanda

Nope, Hope is not old (and neither are you!!) :rotfl2: It is fun to look back at the whole pictures and think about how this upcoming trip is going to be different. :goodvibes

Great flashback Stephanie! You all look so cute in your Sci-Fi car.

I agree with Wendy. Make sure you have some tissues handy. It's so sweet to see your little one immersed in magic.

Thanks Leanne! I will have to make sure I add that to our packing lists! Lots of travel size tissues packs. :thumbsup2

I really wish our trips would have worked out, too. I'm still disappointed, but like you said, you'll be back again and we will too so you never know!! :)

May 16th: Our second day we spent the morning at Animal Kingdom. Favorite photos from that part of the day:

DBF and I--get a look at those sunglasses! :lmao:

We arrived at AK way early, one of the first there. We experienced RD (all by accident). We experience the KS, KRR, both of the paths, Dinosaur and Tree of Life (but not ITTBAB).

Our favorites of the day:

DH: Safari, zoo atmosphere overall
Me: Dinosaur--don't ask me how this is but that is what I wrote down.

After we spent the morning at AK, we headed back to POFQ to cool off. Then we changed clothes and hopped a bus to MK!! A first picture of the Castle :lovestruc:

We ate a late lunch at:

Disney5-16to5-17004.jpg

Both DH and I had the Focaccia Sandwich (not sure which one though). I remember us thinking we should have split the sandwich because it was so big!

Our first character encounters:

This first experience at MK we went to TL and road Space Mountain (which I don't remember :confused3 so it is possible I did not), Buzz and CoP. We moved onto Frontierland and rode BTMR and Splash Mountain (I did not ride). We finished up in AL with Tiki Birds and POC. :goodvibes

We got to see the Castle and Main Street lit up at night, Spectro Magic—which I am so glad since it may not be running in September. We also stayed for Wishes, again I am glad I was able to see it as it is rumored to be changing too.

So many changes but Disney needs to keep doing to draw in more people! Not everyone are addicts like us here on DIS. :lmao:

Bless you- I still FEEL old some days.

I do have pictures but they were taken with a film camera and I don't have a scanner. I might try to do pictures of some pictures and upload them on my PTR.

What fun! It would be great if you could. :goodvibes

I really wish our trips would have worked out, too. I'm still disappointed, but like you said, you'll be back again and we will too so you never know!! :)

You never know--something to try to look to do on another trip. It would have been great if it worked out. :goodvibes

How funny that you also have no memory of riding Space Mountain. I distinctly remember standing in line, the conversation I had with my friends, even the 'your wait from this point' sign but as for the actual ride... nada! It must have been kind of forgettable!

Loving your flashback TR- so fun! :goodvibes

The castle with the Medallion thingy:confused: I never saw it in person, but generally I don't like when they mess with the castle. The Christmas lights are an exception. Loving the memories!

 I really cannot tell you if I rode it or not. I am not a huge fan of roller coaster style rides with drops, so with Space Mountain not really having any drops, maybe I did ride it? :confused3 Funny how it is the same ride for both of us.

Thanks!

I think it is from whatever campaign they were running at that time. Million Dreams perhaps? :confused3

I was at WDW in 2006 and the Castle had that same Medallion thing on it. It was for Disneyland's 50th Birthday. There were also gold figures of different characters all over the Castle. I know there was Peter Pan, Wendy and Tink flying around one of the turrets. Dumbo was there....lots of characters.

Space Mountain was the 1st roller coaster I ever rode! I was probably 6 or 7 years old???

Amanda

Fun flashback! I love how you have notes from the trip! That's so you!!:rotfl:

I remember when the castle looked like that. That was on my first trip back. I liked all the characters around the turrets but the huge thing in the center was a little much.

No Splash? Why?? :scared1:

thanks Meghan! I knew someone would remember what it was for. :goodvibes

I am not a huge fan of drops. I used to love the log rides at other places but SM is a little big for me.

Love the latest flashback; you got me into "flashbacking" and "missing" when my kids were little, so I did a little flashback on my PTR. Can't wait until your next installment.

Day three: Golfing, DTD and Epcot

May 17th was our morning off day. The guys went golfing and ate lunch at the clubhouse. The gals went to DTD for shopping and lunch. We went to Fulton’s for lunch. I had a salad if memory serves me correct.

I think the lego statues and cityscapes are amazing.

The gals of the trip—one of the only pictures of the three of us. A very nice passerbyer offered to take our picture for us. I traded off and took their picture for them. :goodvibes:

That afternoon, we headed off to Epcot for our first time. It was during the Flower and Garden Festival—such a beauiful sight to see all those lovely toparies and flower beds.

Yup, the arm is still on Spaceship Earth.

We headed off to World Showcase, enjoying the views on the way back. Love the topiaries and the plantings! We also went into the butterfly house.

We ate dinner at Rose N Crown, out on the deck.

DH ate Fish and Chips
I had Bangers and Mash
(We are heading back to R&C when we go in September—one of our favorites)

We walked around WS a bit more but decided not to stay for Illuminations as our allergies were starting to drive us crazy. On the way out, we took one more picture:

Another great flashback. One of these days, I want to go for the Flower & Garden Show as well as at Christmas time.

Awwww, you and Alan are so cute cuddling for the Spaceship Earth photo!!

Ugh, that arm on Spaceship Earth! It was cool when it said "2000", then when they changed it to "EPCOT" I dealt with it, but when they finally took it off, I was happy to see SE the way it should be. Just the big golf ball!!:thumbsup2

Anyway, we had fun at the park today! Can't wait for Wednesday and more flashbacks!!

Yeah, I'm glad they took that arm down. It did NOT look good! But all of your pics turned out cute. You look like you were having lots of fun!
