Coaches Gift

Ok I am one of the Team moms for my daughters softball team (JV Highschool). The girls took up a collection of money for the two coaches a gift. They want to give each of the a prepaid visa/mastercard at the end of the season party and a small gift at the Spring Sports Award Ceremony that is a few weeks later. So far they are planning to give them a prepaid visa gift card (which I have to go get this week) and a Keychain each that says Coach.
But the problem is that they need something small to give them at the awards night. They would like to give the female coach flowers but we have no clue what to give the male coach if we get her flowers. Do they get flowers too?

It needs to be $10 or less as they will only have $20 left for gifts for the awards ceremony.

ANy ideas??

Also if you know the best place to get Prepaid Visa's this week that would be great to know also.

As someone who coached youth sports, this would be my vote also. All those trinkets are nice, but something to remember the team by is "priceless".

You should be able to get prepaid Visa cards at your bank, or Walmart has them for about $3, and they are re loadable up to $1500.

The problem with the team photo is that not everyone was in it. But could be doable. I thought of an autographed softball also..

It is a daughter/father coach team. So would you give the same things in general or flowers for the female and a hat/mug/ball/?? for the male.

Oh and all I know about the coaches is that the female is early 20's, went to VT and has a lot of VT items. The male loves vitaminC - he takes like 5 capsules a day the kids say he is obsessed with Vitamin C. lol.. He also wears those baseball type caps.

She is the main coach I would say and he is the asst. coach. She gives the signals during the games, calls the time outs, talks to the other coaches, etc and he puts in the plays into a pda.

Oh and this small gift is just for the award ceremony. When my daughter had only female coaches they would just get flowers. I have no clue what to get the man. What do you get men instead of flowers.

Just my .02, but I like the signed photo or signed ball idea for both. Flowers die, but the picture or ball will be around as a keepsake forever. As for the Visa giftcard, most of those due charge a fee of about $5.00 per card. While they are good at many places, that is less money they would receive than if you went with a GC from a local mall, restaurant, or grocery supercenter. I am sure the coaches will appreciate whatever you decide and I think all of your options are good ideas.

My DH has coached our son's baseball team for 6 years and his favorite gift has always been a framed signed team photo or a signed ball. Even if everyone is not in the photo, they could still sign the photo mat. If you want to do a signed ball, you can get a small glove trophy to hold it for about $5 or and acrylic case for around $3.

DH and I are coaching our DD10's team and to say it has been a headache and a challenge is putting it mildly!!! We would SOOOOO appreciate a thank you from the girls and a signed ball would be really lovely. There has been so much stress and headache and drama that we have tried to shield the girls from, plus each girl brings her own drama to the team. Bah! In fact, I don't see the kids doing anything, I might do the ball for DH on my own. Sigh.

Ok we decided we are doing $50 visa gift cards for each coach and a small keychain that says Coach at the end of the season party.

And of the night of the awards ceremony they are going to present them an autographed softball each.
