Another HOB giftcertificates.com question - just checking

I missed getting a House of Blues gift certificate at 90% off, but still managed to get 80% off using code: ZOO. Still, paying $3 to get $25 off a $35 meal sounded really good. I just had my mom get a HOB gift certificate too (so I can verify this code still works today :thumbsup2).

I know that you cannot use 2 certificates at the same meal and that each person is entitled to using a gift certificate once per month for the same restaurant. I'm not intending to do that.

I just want to know if it's ok for my family (with my mother) to go to HOB two separate days, once using our certificate and once using her certificate. My mom and I have different last names, live in different houses, and used two different giftcertificates.com accounts. The only problem I could think of was that if all the reservations are in my name will that be a problem? :confused3 Or when they validate the gift certificate will it be completely separate from the name on the reservation, proving that I'm just paranoid about something not working here?

Jen that shouldn't be a problem AT ALL. I've used rest.com cert's for our pizzaria back to back Saturday/Sunday, and it was fine. I'm sure at HOB it will be the same especially since they are under 2 different names.

You are being paranoid :)

I used my restaurant.com HoB certificate the other day. :cool1: Assuming that is similar to what you have.
I don't see that would be a problem unless the certificates were somehow linked to one name/address. And it doesn't sound as if they are connected in any way in your case.
Only saying that as on my certificate read can only one can be used per month. Now I am sure HoB does not track that.
However HoB has to call in the authorization code to restaurant.com and get their approval. I am guessing restaurant.com does keep track. (And later I even got an e-mail survey on that meal.)
But since you used two different accounts, etc, I can't see how that would be an issue.
We happened to go at a very slow time for lunch. And it took quite awhile for the certificate to be called in. The server even apologized for it. Just so happens another server was calling in a certificate at the same time. She said it was more popular than they anticipated.

I think these boards just might have something to do with that popularity. ;)

Did you have to give all your details for them to call it in, or did you just hand over the certificate? Reason I ask is that I have been given one as a gift, so do I give my details or the purchaser's name? Or does it matter at all?

You don't need to do anything, you just give them the certificate at the beginning of the meal, and they take care of the rest.

I ordered one of the rest.com certs to give to my aunt/uncle and another for myself. They are traveling the same time as us. Will we not both be allowed to use the certs even if we go at different times since they are both under my rest.com account?

Just wanted to say congratulations for such a great deal. I love HOB, wish I had checked this thread out earlier.

Did you do this at restaurant .com? Where did you put in the code ZOO? Sorry haven't been on for awhile:surfweb:Thank you

They do keep track of the 1 per month under the same account. My MIL bought 2 certs. for the same restaurant and gave 1 to SIL and my SIL couldn't use it because MIL had dined there using cert. within that month. If you want to use 2 cert. you will have to but them under 2 different restaurant.com accounts.

Is there a way to move the cert to a different account once it's bought? No big deal if we don't get to use it -- it was only $2, so won't be a big loss -- but would be really great if we could use it!
