DISmoms Round TWO! Don't Axe, Don't Tell!! 4/30-5/4/10 updates 9/17

HELLLLOOOOOOOO everyone!! Here we are again, DISmoms, a group of now SIX women, leaving their families behind to visit WDW in STYLE and kid-less-ness! Yea...that's right! It's all about US, not THEM, and it makes for some pretty funny tales to tell...unless we don't tell...we'll have to see how that goes!

Here are our Moms-

From L-R, podsnel (me- Ellen), Cammie, wannabeadismom (Joan), Karajeboo (Kara), LovinLife (Pam), and Loni (can't remember)(eta-GroovyLZ).

Loni was my college roomate, we've been BFFs since the 80's! Karajeboo & Cammie are my creepy internet friends.... :rotfl:

we met here on the DIS, and have become great buds, all of us, since last year when we took our first DISmoms trip to AKV concierge. :cloud9:

This year, we have increased in numbers by two, and were joined by my girl Joan (wannabeadismom) who is my close friend here at home & has been a DISNEY geek for years, and LovinLife- who was Cammie & Kara's creepy internet friend, and whom none of us had ever met before- an axe wielding psychopath, no doubt. :scared1:

For both of them, this would be their first trip away from the DH's and kids in WDW, on everyone's favorite- the all about US trip! :cheer2:

This year at BCV! :banana:

Hope you'll join us on another joint TR between us all (although I'm sure Karajeboo will hog up most of the posts as usual :rolleyes2

) that will be even BIGGER and BETTER than last years!! Because women let out of their Mom cage....GO WILD!!! party:

Who you callin a thread hog????? HERE I AM!!!!! And ready to relive the crazy adventures that began with this...

My buddy Laura (crdismom) who I met on the Control Freaks and Worry Warts thread, sent this to me a few weeks before the trip because we all know what can happen when you finally meet people in person that you "met" on the internet! :scared1:

Stories of axe wielding maniacs, etc.

Last year as I was getting ready to leave, my hubs Jeff said to me, "Have fun, but I really hope you are not a 20/20 episode waiting to happen!"

As we all know, we all survived last year's trip, but this year there were two more crazy DIS moms I hadn't met! So just to be safe, I brought my axe...... So while we were ALL maniacs, I pride myself on being the only AXE WIELDING maniac on this trip. See? That makes me an ORIGINAL on the all about US trip!

BTW, Ellen, is "Loni" her screen name and you don't remember her REAL name????? Hmmm, some BFF you are! :rotfl2:

Let the crazy Dismom adventures begin!!!!!! All I can say is all your Friday depature day text messages / pictures were pure torture! When I received the GGS picture I was ready to go to the closest computer and change my flight from Sunday to Friday night! I almost convinced myself that it was possible to leave two days early with 6 hours notice! :rotfl:

With the usual hum-drum, i'm going to Disney attitude, :rolleyes:

I popped out of bed an hour before the 5 am alarm to shower and get ready to go!! Joan was dropped off at 5:45 by her DH, Peter, and the town car was dropping us off at Newark Liberty Airport 20 minutes later. We were smart enough and lucky enough to be traveling 1st Class on this trip...can you say hooray for the day before flying $59 upgrade??? :woohoo:

Gotta love a great big seat, and a real coffee cup on a 7:30 am flight-

What was even better? I could check TWO pieces of luggage, including all the stuff I was hauling down to WDW to fill up my brandy-new Owner's Locker with!! AND...the movie? Finally got to see the Princess & the Frog!

Ok- so by the time we had landed, I had already had about 3 sappy-crying jags under my belt. You can be SURE those were not the last Disney induced sappy tears of the trip. Anywhooo.... we arrived before 10 am and were on the DME in NO TIME!! Looks like we had some major transportation MOJO goin' this trip!

We were checking in at the BC front desk at 11 am!!! Could not believe it!! I did do the online checkin, and were able to get our keys but our room was not ready- the nerve!! :rotfl:

So Joan & I checked our carry-on luggage and we were on our way to EPCOT-

Where Joan would trade in her GAD voucher for $84 towards her 5 day park pass. And by 11:30 am...we were KIDLESS in DISNEY, BABY!!

Too early for a Citron Slushie, we headed to Le Cellier to get some take-out...Joan's first ever Cheddar Ale soup & pretzel bread-

I have to say...those people standing in the lobby waiting to be seated were in AWE....nobody knows about take out cheese soup & pretzel bread like a DISER!!

Dining Al Fresco-

It's a hit! What a shock!

Joan tried to get some Moosehead from the cart but it was still a minute too early...so we made the better choice and went for another Joanie first, the Grey Goose Slushie cart in France!

Well, ya know THAT sucked...NOT! I had a call that our villa was ready- and that Kara had almost arrived...so back to BCV we went....

Up next...it's Krazy Kara time!! :yay:

You might be the only axe wielder, but I'm the one Jeff put in charge of hiding the weapon...umm,axe....

Well, I think Loni doesn't remember her real name EITHER, so what do you expect?? EDTA- Just to confirm, she does NOT know her name, she just sent me a text that says, "i have no idea..I'll check when I get home, cause i don't use it much at all." FWIW, to those of you reading- if you can't remember your name, maybe you should leave it on a piece of paper in your pocket instead of at home. Never know when your name might come in handy during the course of the day....

I had so much fun sending those messages to you guys- to get you psyched for your impending arrival! Come to think of it, I probably could have made it into Epcot an hour earlier if I hadn't stopped to send so many!!

And I think you should have worked harder at convincing yourself to get there earlier! Have you started your TR yet? You're doing one, right? ::yes::

wow..took me a while to get here. I know I am bad for giving Kara a weapon but I was in Target and nearly peed my pants when I saw the axe. I can only imagine her expression when she opened the box. Now when we go in October I am getting an AP so I will have very little excuse not to join you next year unless you go on the church carnival weekend.

This definitely should be a lot of fun! Would love to stay at BCV someday (have stayed at BWV and absolutely love the Epcot area). I need some friends so I can take an all girls/no kids trip too!

Ellen and Joan weren't scheduled in until around noon so I decided to leave home about 9:30 as it's exactly 2 1/2 hrs door to door. But around 10am, just as I'm seeing the Jacksonville skyline in the distance, Ellen calls to say they are on DME already - say what????

So as she was texting me pics of DME, I sent her pics of KME (that's KARA's Magical Express). Shot a couple pics of the dashboard showing 80mph and out the front windshield. And it is magical. I really think I could leave my driveway, tell my car to head to Disney, and I could fall asleep and wake up there. Heaven forbid I would ever want to head further south on I-95 - poor car would be shaking and shuddering passing the I-4 turnoff!!!

I think I pulled into BCV around noon and the mighty handsome sailor boy out front escorted me straight to the front desk, cut in front of all the other poor schleps waiting to check in, and got my key for me (since Ellen had already officially checked in). Did I mention he was mighty handsome? Wonder if it was my charming personality or incredible good looks? :snooty:

I snapped a few pics of our AWESOME 2br villa and before long there was a knock knock at the door!!!

Our view, although I looked and never did see pretty sailor boy again. Guess after his experience with me he called it a day, knowing the highlight of his day was over..... :rolleyes1

The minute Ellen and Joan walked in I was finally on vacation!!!! It was great to see Ellen again and from the minute I met her I felt like I'd known Joan my whole life!!!!

We quickly changed into our suits and headed down to relax by the pool before Joan and Ellen headed off for their spa treatments....

But wait! First things first!!!!

NOW the trip has begun for me!!!

It's been a very crazy and hectic couple of months for me. We are being transferred BACK to SC and none of us are happy about it. We LOVE living in Florida, and of course the proximity to WDW! So my stress level leading up to this trip was seriously in the red zone.......

But for now, what stress????

Pretty soon Pam shows up and E and J leave to get pampered. Then Cammie rolls in followed by Lonnie - it's gonna be a great weekend!!!
