Walking from Resort to parks

Hey there folks,

Just wondering if there are any tips/threads on walking from your resort to the parks. Just thought it would be a nice change to walk rather than take the bus. We are staying at Caribbean Beach Resort, so I know we are close the back entrance to Epcot and MGM.

I don't believe there are any walkways from CBR to ANY park. Sorry.

There is but only kind of. If you exit CBR at the NW corner of the property and walk across the grass to the intersection of Buena Vista Dr. and Victory way thier is a cross walk over Buana. For no reason a Walkway just of the northside of Buena starts here. It goes west to the waterway which is between Epcot and DHS.

It's an oddity of the park because this walkway by Buena vista doesn't really go anywhere.

Also be cautious because WDW has very segregated traffic modes and nobody in car would have any reason to expect a person crossing the road. Even in a cross walk.

Also I doubt it will save much time. Even if you stay right in the nw buildings of CBR it's a good distance around Epcot to get to the gate. The Buses may be going a further distance but will also travel at a much faster pace.

BC and BW has walking access to rear of Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.

CR walkway to MK.

Like Peabody58 says it's along the waterway that passes between the beach/yatch clubs and the boardwalks resort. It's called the International gateway.

It enters between the UK and france.

You may of seen post of people going in the back for character meals. But that is only a special case.


I should also add that I saw a report where the writer recorded the distance walked in the parks. I think it was about 12 miles for a day spent inside Epcot. I didn't believe it until I saw similar reports.

I haven't seen any tips or threads about walking to the parks from your resort, because it's just not done (with the exception of Contemporary to MK and Beachclub and Boardwalk to Epcot).

I've heard WDW described as bigger than the island of Manhatten. It's 47 square miles. I mean it's a 20 minute bus ride to the parks from some of the resorts, depending on where you are located - who wants to walk that far when you are going to be walking ALL day? My oldest daughter likes to wear a pedometer while we are at the parks and we can average between 9 and 14 miles per day.

Just take the bus

Caribbean Beach resort is close enough that it may be possible to walk to EPCOT and DHS,but it's also far away enough that it's likely that if they put a more pedestrian friendly path to reach the Boardwalk it might not be used that much,it would probably take 35-45 minutes to walk to EPCOT and almost an hour to get to DHS.CBR's main entrance is basically on the other side of the street from Germany in WS,however there's no entrance there and no real sidewalk from CBR until you get to the other side of Buena Vista dr. on Victory Way.You would need to reach this sidewalk and walk along Buena Vista dr.until you reach the Boardwalk on EPCOT Resorts blvd then you can enter the Boardwalk and turn right to go to EPCOT and left for DHS.IF they put a bridge from CBR to cross the very busy Buena Vista Dr. and built a new entrance by Germany you could walk to EPCOT in 5-10 minutes.But for now CBR is a bit too far away to walk to the parks unlike the Y&B Club,the Boardwalk and Swan and Dolphin which are 5-15 minutes from EPCOT and 10-20 minutes from DHS.Contemporary is also a 5-10 minute walk from MK.
