Hi all! So, I've FINALLY gotten around to doing our dining reviews from our past trip! Yeah, yeah, I know we went in December, but a LOT has kept us busy (plus my DH's father's passing). So, just in time for the hot months ahead, here are our reviews on some of our favorite places to eat, and some a couple of new ones that we tried.
We'll honestly tell what we thought about each, snack, meal, restaurant and such. So, without further ado, let me introduce who went on this trip:

To start with, there's me, Monica, age 31 (lover of all things, and foods Disney)
IMG_4841-1.jpg

My DH, Kevin, age 33 (lover of fast cars and all foods Disney)
IMG_4602.jpg

My niece, Paige, who is only 3 years younger than me (so basically we're like sisters), age 28 (lover of frogs and all foods Disney)
IMG_4603-1-1.jpg

Niece's DH (so my nephew-in-law?), Chuck, age 31 (lover of the History Channel and all foods Disney)
IMG_4713.jpg

Ok, so as you can see, we're just a bunch of Disney, fun-lovin' characters that we hope Mickey (and his pals) would be proud of:) Well, now that you've met us. Here is a list of where and what I will be reviewing:

Flame Tree Barbecue (Animal Kingdom)
Sommerfest (Germany, in Epcot)
Sci-Fi Dine In-Theater (Hollywood Studios)
Liberty Tree Tavern (Magic Kingdom)
Pecos Bill (Magic Kingdom)
Yakitori House (Japan, Epcot)
Crystal Palace Character Dinner (Magic Kingdom)
Wishes Dessert Party (Magic Kingdom)
Picnic in the Park (Animal Kingdom)
'Ohana (Dinner, Polynesian)
T-Rex (Lunch, Downtown Disney, Marketplace)
Sunshine Seasons (inside The Land, Epcot)
Le Cellier Steakhouse (Canada, Epcot)

Of course I'll review some of the snacks we had as well, and let you know what are the favs we always seem to crave! Hope you'll check back with me and enjoy reading along as I post my Disney Dining Reviews!

Good Morning from Drizzly England,

Am really looking forward to your reviews of your meals and snacks (mmm snacks), you have visited some of the restaurants we have ADR's for in Nov. So fingers crossed we have made some good choices.

How was your Saturday there in England? It was quite windy here in South Carolina! I hope reading some of my upcoming reviews gets you excited to eat in Nov! Glad you're joining in:)

Hi there
sounds like a great line up
look forward to hearing more :)
Welcome aboard!

Signing in - some great meals.
Yes, some of my reviews are of some of my favorites! Hope you'll enjoy the reviews!

Welcome aboard! Okay, so first off I guess I should explain that my nephew-in-law is in the Army Reserve, so he goes to drill at least once a month. Such was the case the weekend we went down to Disney. My DH, niece and myself drove down and then he met us the next night. So, the three of us got down there, checked into Old Key West, and decided to head over to AK for a bit. Of course the first thing we thought of was lunch...and Flame Tree was the unanimous decicion. Yes, yes, I admit...it was cruel of us to eat at Chuck's favorite counter service, but we were HUNGRY! And it smells so good when you walk past! It may have been unfair of us to take a picture of the Flame Tree sign and send it to my while he was at drill...but that's just how we are:) Well, we have all eaten at Flame Tree before, and we all agree that it is one of our favorite CS meals in Disney. This trip all three of us ordered the same thing at Flame Tree, which was the pork barbecue sandwich plate.

IMG_4303.jpg

This is my plate, which was the pork barbecue sandwich, baked beans, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Like I said, we all had the same (what can I say...). I had Coke to drink. Everything was tasty and there was a good bit of pork on the sandwiches. Yes, it was all very good. So far we have always had a good meal here. Flame Tree seating is very large, and all outside, with some covered tables also. We usually don't have any trouble finding a place to sit, and a favorite spot to sit is down where you can see Expedition Everest, towards the very bottom seating area. Always a nice place to eat while in Animal Kingdom.

So, this next picture is not from our Dec. trip, but from last spring when my Paige and I did the Quick Service Dining Plan, and went down for a few days, for just a girls getaway. We ate at Flame Tree and I got the 1/2 Slab of St. Louis Ribs

IMG_1032.jpg

I just wanted to say that I very much enjoyed these ribs! They were tender and plentiful! I don't even think I was able to eat them all.

Well that's it for the Flame Tree review. Join in next time for another exciting adventure in Disney Favs and a few craves! Up next: Sommerfest (CS in Germany, Epcot)
Sci-Fi Dine In-Theater (Hollywood Studios)

What's that!? It's a bird...it's a plane...it's....old B movies on a big screen in a fun themed setting! *Gasp!* After spending half a day at Epcot and eating a quick (and somewhat early) lunch at Sommerfest in Germany, which is the Kiosk right outside of Biergarten, we headed back to Old Key West for a little break before going to DHS for the EMH that night. Sommerfest is the one place that my niece ALWAYS insists on eating at, at least once during any trip to WDW. She LOVES bratwurst, and black forest cake, so we always eat here, or at least stop here so that she can get something from there every trip that she's with me. We all got bratwurst, which came with sauerkraut (which I was the only one who likes sauerkraut, so I was the only one to eat it), and a roll. We all agreed that it was very good. For dessert they didn't have their usual black forest cake slices, but a variation of it that was Black Forest Cake Roulade. I got that, and Paige and DH got Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce. I tasted DH's and it was okay, but a little dry I thought. Here are the photos of what we had:

This is my plate with the Black Forest Cake Roulade, but we all had bratwurst as pictured.

So on to Sci-Fi!
We went straight to Sci-Fi and checked in just a few mins before our ADR time, and were told that it would be about 15 mins to wait. So, we just hung out right at the front of the resturant and waited, which it wasn't very long before they were telling us they were ready for us. This was our first time eating here, and I absolutly loved the theming! Our waiter showed us to our "car" and explained that we would be dining "under the stars" at the drive in. This whole resturant is pretty dimly lit, or rather almost dark because of the drive-in night time theaming. I liked it. I had read on here and other forums that sometimes if you have a small party (there were 3 of us) they may seat you in a "car" with another small party, OR they don't put you in a car at all, but at a "picnic table". We had a cute light blue car all to ourselves, so Paige and I sat up front, and DH sat behind us lol.
IMG_4500.jpg

Our waiter was funny and full of Disney magic, and gave us each a "Drive- In Driver's License" and told us a little about the menu and and then took our drink orders. DH got coke, and Paige and I got one of the lemonades that come with a light up ice cube and a souvenir cup (non alcoholic) that were good and fun:)

IMG_4490.jpg

When he came back we were ready to order. DH got the Italian Grilled Chicken Sandwich, which came with fries, which he seemed to really like. Not to dry or anything. He ate it all without complaint lol.
IMG_4487.jpg

Niece Paige decided she wanted something other than an entree, so she ordered the Double Dip, which is spinach and artichoke dip and a seven-bean chili which came with tortilla chips. This looked really good, and she said it was very yummy

IMG_4489.jpg

I had the Shrimp Pasta, it consisted of bow tie pasta and sauteed shrimp tossed with artichoke hearts, olives, baby spinach and feta cheese. This was RIGHT up my alley lol. I ate almost all of it, and they give a good bit!

IMG_4488.jpg

We ate and very much enjoyed watching the old films and commercials on the big drive in movie screen. The entire resturant looks like you're outside under the stars and everyone is either seated at a car with a "front seat" table and "back seat" table, a car with a long table for larger parties, or a picnic type table. The resturant shares a bathroom with the ABC Commissary, which I was surprised about, and those bathrooms are some of the worst in any Disney park IMO. But, that aside, everything else was very magical at Sci-Fi.

We were getting very full but we HAD to try the desserts! I mean why not?! So as we each got what we wanted. DH and Paige ended up getting the same thing: A Sweet Ending To Your Celebration... Cheesecake. It had caramel sauce and carmel popcorn and M&Ms on top of it...not gonna lie...it looked goood. And I don't even like cheesecake!

IMG_4501.jpg

I got the Peanut Butter-Chocolate Cake. It was chocolate cake with warm peanutbutter in the middle and came with vanilla ice cream and pecans on top. It was drizzled with some caramel sauce too. VERY good..and there was no way I could eat it all!

IMG_4502.jpg

So, overall we all enjoyed our Sci-Fi experience. It's a fun place to eat while at DHS. The atmosphere, the food, the service, was all very good. Even the noise level wasn't bad, I mean we were all eating and watching the big movie screen, but as I recall it wasn't very noisy. Eat here again? Yes.

Up next: Liberty Tree Tavern (Magic Kingdom)
Pecos Bill (Magic Kingdom)

Going to the SCi-Fi for the first time this trip (booked lunch the day after MNSSHP). DS chose it and have to be honest I wasn't looking forward to it but that has changed my mind. The dips and desserts look awesome.

Liberty Tree/Pacos Bill's

Liberty Tree:

WOW! I have to apologize for the HUGE delay in getting these up! After a very busy couple of weeks, I FINALLY have another Disney Dining adventure! Welcome to all who are joining in!

So our next day was spend all day (and night:) in MK. It was DH's birthday and that was where he wanted to go, as he wanted to get the birthday fastpasses. We had lunch ADRs for Liberty Tree at 1pm and after spending some time in MK, we were able to get checked in a few minutes before. We were told that a table would be availble in just a few minutes, so we waited for less than 5 minutes and were shown to our table with drink orders taken.
We had coke or sprite to drink, and the only drink picture I took was of Chuck's sprite because it was in the collector's mug that you could buy and have your drink served in

IMG_4612.jpg

This was DH (Kevin's) birthday lunch, and so we let our waitress know that. We decided to start with an order of cheese sticks, and we ate most of them before I remembered to take a picture...what can I say...we were hungry. :-)

IMG_4609.jpg

These were pretty good. About what you'd expect from mozarella sticks, and we ate all of them very quickly lol. It's usually hard to mess up fried cheese:-)

For our main entrees, we had the following:

DH had the mushroom swiss burger
IMG_4620.jpg

He said it was great! It looked very tasty!

Chuck had Delmarva Chicken and Dumplings, which consisted of chicken with carrots, celery, and something they called "slippery" dumplings. They were more noodle-like it seemed. He enjoyed it, but did have to put salt and pepper to give it more flavor.

IMG_4621.jpg

Well Paige and I both got the same thing: the Pilgrim's Feast :-) Turkey, dressing with gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans (we even asked for some cranberry sauce and they brought it to us:) Good ole Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, it was very good. The stuffing was Stoffers but I LOVE that, and so does Paige, so we were very happy! It's good comfort food.

IMG_4622.jpg

For dessert, Kevin and I decided to order the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake.

IMG_4623.jpg

VERY good!

Paige and Chuck declined dessert, but the waitress brought a special birthday treat out for my DH (Kevin) so they ate some of it.

IMG_4624.jpg

Lunch there was very good and the service was friendly as always. We really like the colonial theme. Crowd and noise level wasn't bad at all. I recomend this to everyone since it has good comfort foods. This is a favorite and we will be sure to eat here again!

Pecos Bill's:

Kevin and I ended up going back to our hotel and taking a nap, while Paige and Chuck stayed in the MK and then we met back up with them later to watch Wishes before EMH. We figured we wouldn't be very hungry after such a big lunch, but decided to stop in at Pecos Bill's. This place always has something that eveyone will eat. Paige and Chuck split burgers, so they each had one half of each: cheeseburger and deluxe cheeseburger with bacon (just so you know, Paige is a bacon connoisseur:-)

IMG_4676.jpg

I could only get the other half of one of the burgers before they ate them lol

I had a taco salad, which Kevin had a few bites of and he just got chili fries

IMG_4673.jpg

IMG_4674.jpg

I really liked the taco salad (it had chili in the bottom) and Kevin liked his fries. I tasted them and they were pretty normal for chili fries.

It was crowed and noisy here, but it usually is, and it was one of the only places open to eat that late at night, so we kinda expected that. The seating area is pretty big, but even so it was still hard to find seats.

Okay, so up next (and NOT so far away this time!) is: Yakitori House (Japan, Epcot)
Crystal Palace Character Dinner (Magic Kingdom). I PROMISE I'll have it up sooner this time! Sorry again for the delay! Things have been crazy. Hope you will join in for the next time!

Great update :thumbsup2
Looks like you had a great meal at the Liberty Tree Tavern.

Wonderful review of Sc-Fi :goodvibes
The Cheesecake looks amazing

Thanks! Yes, from what I tasted it was pretty good and I'm not a huge cheesecake fan. I think the caramel corn made it more fun:thumbsup2

I love what I have read (and seen) so far! So consider me on board for the review! :goodvibes

Glad to have you on board!

Thank you for joining in!

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, you're as welcome as can be!
Well we are up to the day Paige and Chuck had to leave and drive back home:( They were only able to come down for half of the trip, BUT at least they DID get to come for the fun for a little while. This was our fourth day, and as we decided that we would spend half of the day in Epcot, before Kevin and I went back to the MK to do the MVMCP, we didn't eat much of a breakfast so that we could hurry up and get there. That morning they were having EMH, so Paige and Chuck got up earlier than DH and I did and took advantage of that, since this was their last day. DH and I made our way there a little after regular park opening, and met up with them in The Land. We got FPs for Sorin, and then decided to look into the Behind the Seeds tour while we waited for our time to be up. We have talked about doing this tour before, so we all decided to go ahead and do it. The time that the tour would meet, was not too long after our FP for Sorin would be up, so after riding Sorin, we were able to get to where we needed to be in plenty of time. It worked out quite nicely. The Behind the Seeds Tour is quite an interesting tour. Even though we know very little about hydroponics, we learned a LOT, and really found it enjoyable! We even got to taste some hydroponically grown cucumbers:) Okay, so after the tour we split up and Kevin and I headed for the World Showcase to look around, and I had learned earlier that morning that Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog was going to be signing autographs and such in the American Pavillion! SO, of course I HAD to meet her!
IMG_4794.jpg

We decided, as we were passing Japan, to get lunch, and stopped in at the Yakitori House. This is the counter service resturant in Japan, and honestly, to us, it was the worst place we ate during our trip (at least in our opinion). The best way to describe the food here is to compare it to one of the fast food Japanese places in a mall food court. At least that is what it reminded me of. Kevin got the California roll (sushi), and it was just like what you can get at your local supermarket "sushi-to-go" section. It seemed pretty normal, fresh enough I suppose, but we could have easily picked it up at our local Pulix grocery story here in SC. I don't have a pic of that because I wasn't fast enough. I had the Teriyaki Chicken, and like I said, pretty much the same thing that I can get here in a mall food court in SC

IMG_4783.jpg

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't nessarily good either. Okay, so that is pretty much my take on the Yakitori House.

On to Crystal Palace next for dinner!

Following you from the Childfree by choice tread....
Great reviews so far....I just had lunch and I'm hungry again
