US Disney site sends you back to UK

I went online today to have a look at the prices for a room later this year. I did this on the US site because you tend to be offered more options regarding room type on there. When I went to click "Find Prices" I noticed this message:-

By clicking on 'Find Prices' you will be redirected to a Disney Online site located in the United Kingdom for purchasing, where different Privacy Policies and Terms of Use will apply.

I don't want to use the UK site. If I wanted to I woulld have gone there. I just recently booked a room at the Boardwalk using the US site with no problems. Has this changed recently? Does this mean we can't book things like concierge level rooms since they very rarely seem to be offered on the UK site. Has anyone one else come across this? Is there a way around it?

Thanks in advance.

This was happening to me the other day.

Log onto the Disney US website and scroll down to the bottom. On the left hand side there's a drop down titled "Select an International Version", choose "USA: English" and then it won't bounce you back anymore :thumbsup2

Oh I see you have also been fighting with that site and refusing to give up til you got your way .... I was trying to do a quote in USD - I can't tell you what I was saying to the screen because I really like being a DIS member ..... :rolleyes1 As soon as you click "Book a vacation package" it actually has the nerve to tell you that it will redirect you. They keep finding new ways to oust you off the site when you want to consider booking. :sad2:

If it happens again I am going to consider emigrating to the US ..... :rotfl:

I was actually concerned about what happens if you booked through them and can't access the site. Especially seeing it seems to be a recurring problem.

Thank you for that. I also already have a booking through the US site. Why can't they understand that if you go to that page it's because you want that page. Not the one they have decided that you meant!!

Thanks again!!

Typical Disney.
So now the US site isn't really the US site, it's a version of the US site for foreigners where it decides, based on where you are, what it wants you to see. Now to hunt for a way of getting back to the 'real' US site...

Actually I found a way in - it was pretty easy.
Um, I'm reluctant to post it though as I believe this site is 'monitored' and I don't want the loophole I found to be closed off...

Yep, that's what I've always used before but now it says the thing about redirecting to the UK site if you click on "Find Prices". However, if you go down to the bottom of the page then to whhere it says select an International Version and click on USA English. Then it seems to work ok. Just to clarify this is different from when you just try to get on the US page for ADR's and such and it send you to the UK one. This one send you to the US one but when you try to book a room takes yopu back to the UK one if that makes sense.

Grrrr, so annoying Disney!!

Sorry thought this was solved.

I just tried it no problem, follow SimonY's link then goto bottom left and change to USA:English you should then be able to see US prices, just did it no problem.

Edit: you just added to say you have solved it:rotfl:

That's even easier than the other way I found. Thanks! :thumbsup2
