How can I give you a Florida quiz...i've never been!!! 3-17th July 2010

glad you like it! I wore it last night to a friend's birthday party but i'm 5'10 so its a little short...haha glad i've got company on the disneymoon with no fiancees front! nothing to be ashamed of just not something you'd be revealing on a first date!:rotfl:

Oh man...that just put the best visual in my head! I will share:

(at the end of a first date)
Guy: I had a really great time with you tonight. Can we do it again soon?
Girl: Um...That depends. I'm not getting married to a guy unless it's in Disney World. So if you DON'T want to get married there, you should just tell me now and we won't even have to bother with a second date.
Guy: Um....

:rotfl2: That would be so funny. My friends and I always joke that a guy will propose to me and I will ask if we can get married at WDW and then base my answer to his proposal on his answer to that. :rotfl:

DBF and I had a conversation one day about hypothetical marriage. We'd been talking about how quickly we're moving and he asked me if I felt like he was rushing me. I said no, and that I'd tell him if I felt like that as long as he would tell me if he felt like I was rushing him. He said, "Honestly, the only thing I think you could do that would make me feel like you're rushing would be proposing to me within the next few months. Maybe six months, but not before then." I said, "Maybe you could at Disney... To be honest, if I ever get married, I want it to be at WDW." And that led to a short conversation about Disney weddings and how no, you don't have to dress up as the characters.

So... Yeah. :teeth: Maybe your guy will bring a ring on the trip! It's kinda looking like mine might :lovestruc

Hey Cathy!! :)

I can't wait to hear about all your plans!!! I am so excited for you!!

Hi, Cathy!! Just joined in, but I caught up with the report! Your clothes are awesome-- I love the headband from your mom. It's whimsical and cute-- perfect for Disney!
Totally makes sense to stay off site when you're visiting so many non-Disney parks/restaurants-- Hampton Inns are really nice. My mom used to work for the Hilton company and we could stay at Hamtons (and more) for $30/a night!
I took DBF on his first trip last summer and he LOVED it! He was so not excited to go (just did it for me:love:), but he was SOLD. He loved our hotel (POR), the Disney buses, how nice the CM's were, how beautiful and well done the parks/rides were, etc. On the fourth night, while we were waiting at the MK bus stop to go back to our hotel, he says out of no where "You know, this would be the best honeymoon place. Let's stay at the Grand Floridian":love: Music to my ears! We're not engaged yet-- but I am going to hold him to this promise!!!
My father is from Kerry, so I've been to Ireland/UK over fifteen times. Love Belfast!

Wow £10 for Candy Floss :scared1: Did it come with a side of caviar?

Glad you enjoyed it though :thumbsup2 bummer about your camera though.

:lmao: the balloon's were £5 each, I was trying to really casually say 'make sure and hold on tight!' but worth it for a nice day out...

Hi!
About the park footwear.. have you tried Havaianas flip flops?!
I got a pair for October 2008 trip to WDW and wouldn't wear anything else now!
They're made of some kind of special rubber from Brazil which keeps your feet cool and doesn't rub your feet! :thumbsup2
I have a bright pink pair, there's loads of other colours though - I'm already thinking of getting white & gold pairs for Disneymoon next year! :cloud9:

I did some research into good 'theme park footwear' after our trip in 2006, when I just bought pretty flipflops from Accessorize to wear in the parks - they rubbed my feet so badly that I got an infection in a cut.. my foot swelled up on the plane home & I had to be on antibiotics for three weeks once we got home! :scared1: .. talk about post-disney blues! lol

Hope you've had a nice weekend! Mine's been good even though I've spent most of it studying for next exam :surfweb: !

Emma princess: x

Thanks Emma, am definitely going to buy a pair of Havaianas, saw some in House of Fraser a couple of weeks ago, so next chance I get will head into Belfast for a better look!:cool1:

That's terrible about your infection:scared1:!

And equally as horrible (ok not quite:rotfl:) is revision! hope you are getting through it ok...here is a weird equation I noticed last week, why does 0.5 hours of revision feel longer than 2 hours on the DIS?!;)

Havaianas! Disneybarbie took the words right out of my mouth. They are great flip flops. I never have a problem when I walk around in them at Disney. And the best thing about Havaianas (besides being super comfy) is that they come in all different designs & colors, so you could totally get away with wearing a nice solid color with a dress :thumbsup2

OK 2 votes! now I just have to decide on what colour! maybe red or blue? thanks for the advice!

I always wear Reefs. Super comfy flips! They aren't "cute" exactly but they are not ugly. I wear them with skirts and dresses.

I haven't bought these because they are kind of expensive but how cool is this!! A bottle opener on the bottom! They make them in men's too!

DBF would love that bottle opener, very cool!:thumbsup2 have never seen Reef's in Northern Ireland, so they will be on the shopping list for Florida Mall! will look online this week too in case could get them from a UK stockist...

Nikki - I am SO with you. I wear Reefs all the time to the park. They are comfortable and I find that they "break in" with a few wears and mold to my feet. They never cause blisters, and they can get wet (rain, puddles, wet rides) and dry out very quickly. I always vote Reefs!! :thumbsup2

They come in lots of colors, are inexpensive, and can dress-up or dress-down any outfit. I wore these to an afternoon charity wine-tasting today with a cute brown dress. I thought they dressed it up just nicely.

2 Votes for Reef's also...I saw your dresses on your trip report, they are very beautiful and will be very elegant for disney yet look comfortable too!:thumbsup2

Guess it would save wasting time on a disney-hater! but then maybe needs to be balanced with your ability to convert an otherwise nice guy to see the disney light?!:rotfl: if that makes sense!

DBF is yet to be confirmed as a disney fan but he thinks me sitting on the dis for hours is 'cute' which I'm hoping is a promising sign!:lovestruc

I kinda told DBF not to ask me for at least a year, know that sounds a bit mean but just wanted to enjoy being boyfriend and girlfriend for a while! But the year is up...so who knows? :scared1:

That would be lovely to get a proposal in WDW though, good that you had that talk, at least you know your on the same general page!

Hey Cathy!! :)

I can't wait to hear about all your plans!!! I am so excited for you!!

Hi Heather! Thanks for coming by, I had a read of your reports but still have a lot to catch up on! Like the countdown in your signature!

and p.s snap with the unmanageable hair in the heat!

Well, you never know :goodvibes But yeah, I'm hoping :) I just have a really good feeling about him is all. So I'm hoping :lovestruc

All caught up! Your purchases are adorable; I hope you did well on your exams.

I tend to be less stylish in the summer. The curly hair is typically pulled up instead of flat-ironed, and I sport flip flops daily. It is humid in PA like Florida.

I also vote for the Reefs. Reef makes ones that have glitter on the strap which are a little dressier than sporty. Caution to everyone- the ones with the bottle opener are neat, but the sales person warned me that it could damage hardwood floors. (I don't know if it is high enough on the shoe, but we had just put in new floors. :scared1: so I didn't chance it.)

Looking forward to following your excitement until July. I think by June we will all be Tigger like! :tigger:

I totally get what you mean!! If they were a good enough guy, then converting them would be a very good road to travel. It is very promising that he thinks your hours on the dis is cute!! :goodvibes

You're getting super close, girl! I didn't even realize I leave exactly one month after you!!

I had no idea you had a PTR! I just read all 5 pages. I LOVE all of your purchases....so cute! In the parks, I wear regular flip flops from Old Navy. I live in them from April to October, so they work out well for me. My sister has a pair of Havianas and adores them. I tried them on once and they are great! Did you know that Nationals for Irish dancing are being held at the Swan & Dolphin during the beginning of your trip? A lot of the families from our school are heading down there and are making a vacation out of it.

Hi!!! Wow your boyfriend's reaction to Disney was ideal!:cloud9: that's the kind of statements I want!!! Think DBF is just looking forward to getting there so he understands what i'm rattling on about!!! he has barred me from showing him any photo's from the castle, he says he's really looking forward to seeing it in real life and wants to be pleasantly surprised!

I live near Ballymena, that's so cool you've visited Ireland 15 times!!!:thumbsup2 I've been to Canada 10 times to visit relatives and loved just experiencing the different way of life for a while! any plans to return to Ireland? or is florida next?:woohoo:

Just subscribing and now going back to read more - how exciting!!

I actually got one result back and got a good bit over the average, so feel marginally relieved to have at least one good pass!

Curly hair is hard work! i'd say mine will be straight for a few special occassions during the trip (maybe cali grill) but yep can't beat a ponytail!:cutie:

Tigger Like! good comparison! i'm so glad i found the dis, somewhere where everyone thinks, talks, dreams etc about disney a big % of the time! DBF has reached capacity i think!

Madison dances for Rince Na Tiarna. Isn't that a great name? :goodvibes Trinity is a huge school based out of Chicago. They even have a touring group that I've seen a few times. They are really good!

I'm sneaking a little update in before my BF arrives over!!!

Just thought i'd share some phpoto's of our countdown calendar creation evening, even though its not totally finished, I still need to get a big black marker to write on the days and then cross them off! but we had such a fun night making it! My best Friend came over to help us and we had tea and sweets (candy!)

probably not very good by DIS standards, but will be another wee thing to help manage my excitment!

I have some new purchases that I will post tommoro night,

if anyone gets a chance please check out this link, It is from Britain's got Talent and this group were on Saturday night past. Definitely gave me one of those tingly goosebump moments! I loved the Wolfe family link from Nikki's trip report and even though this isn't at all Disney related thought I'd share probably one of the most amazing talent's i've ever seen...

Wow, that video was great! I would love to see something like that live. I can see them getting jobs working for Cirque!
