Beaches & Cream - waiting times

I've heard the waits can get long for Beaches & Cream... never been there yet but would like to give it a try, especially since we're staying at the BC for a few nights in May.

I've also heard that getting there around opening time (11am?) may help keep waiting time to a minimum. Unfortunately, I don't think that will fit into our schedule. So when else should we try? Mid-afternoon (2-4pm)? Early dinner (4-5pm)? We'd be going on a weekday (before Memorial Day weekend)... would that be easier than weekends? (We'll have some time in WDW both the weekend preceding this and MDWeekend.)

And also, does the whole party have to wait? Is there a sitting area to wait? Is there a place for kids to be occupied/entertained while waiting here? Could the kids go one place with an adult while another adult waits and can call them when ready, or do they want the entire party present immediately when the table opens up?

And most importantly... is the No Way Jose worth any waiting time? :teeth:

2-4 in the afternoon, IME, is the best time to go to minimize the likelihood of a long wait, and I'd say a weekday is better. There are tables outside for waiting and they'll give you a pager (though you can't go too far). Next to B&C is an arcade that will keep kids occupied - my son loves to play air hockey there.

Having stayed at Beach Club several times, I'll only add that if you arrive shortly after a rainstorm has begun, you'll likely have a longer wait as the rain clears out the pool and those who can't swim turn their attention to eating. :)

Regardless of time of day, you'll have a shorter wait if you are willing to sit at the counter over a table or booth. We walked over from Epcot last year around 6:30 or 7:00 PM (party of 5) and only waited 5-10 min. for the counter. (It would have been 45 min.-hr. for a table) We ate, then walked back to Epcot for Illuminations. Very fun evening! (We were also staying at BC.) Our kids thought the counter seating was more fun than a table so it all worked out.

Never had the No way, Jose, so can't speak to that. Our dinner was VERY good, however, and we're going to go back again in 2 weeks! :goodvibes We thought it was a very cute place. Have a great trip!

The No Way José is worth the wait. The rest of the food....? Johnny Rockets actually does it better. I used to love the food at Beaches and Cream 5-10 years ago compared to now.

I must have a sucky Johnny Rockets because during my B&C meal a few weeks ago, I commented on how much better it was than JR!

In my experience, the reports of massive waits at Beaches & Cream have been exaggerated. It is absolutely possible to get a table without wasting an entire afternoon. My family of five people were sitting down 30 minutes after we put our name down during Christmas week!

Naturally, if you visit during off-hours, you will have an even easier time. But I wouldn't worry too much. The arcade is nearby, which should occupy the kids. It's nice to sit at the outdoor tables and watch people splashing around in the phenomenal pool!

Have fun!

Those waits are not exaggerated all that ,much. We stay at the BC all the time and have seen the epic waits here.It is possible to get a table with minimum wait, anything is possible.I will tell you I have personally seen waits 60 -90 mins during dinner and after Illuminations let out and Epcot closed

We've been to B&C in March and May,both times about noon, and both times we were immediately seated. Even if there had been a wait it would have been worth it! Their cheeseburgers and ice cream are amazing! ;)

Love B&C, we've only been once Best burger on Disney property, IMO. We waited about 20 mins for a table. CM gave us a pager and DD and I went to the arcade next door. She played a few games and before you knew it, the pager let us know we had a table.

We are going to try them again for upcoming Christmas trip. There will be four of us this time. But I believe it will be doable.

As with all Disney World restaurants the wait time is contingent on what time of day you go. I was at Beaches and Cream over spring break (2nd busiest time of year) around 9:00 PM or so and the wait was one hour. Advanced Dining Reservations are always what should be done for all Disney restaurants. That being said, going to Beaches and Cream without a reservation will result in a wait, but one that could very well be manageable. Plus--there is a great arcade at the hotel that is a fun place to spend time while waiting to eat. Have fun! :thumbsup2
