We have a 8:05 ADR at Crystal Palace on one of our MK mornings, what time can we expect to finish if we do not plan on lingering for the characters. Thanks.

I guess it depends on how fast they seat you & how fast you eat. The food is already there & waiting. I would guess no more than 30 minutes.

When it's the 3 of us it never takes more then 45 minutes and that's taking our time.

I agree with the pp, but just wanted to add that we always schedule an 8:05 am adr on a non-emh day and we have had no problem eating breakfast and seeing all of the characters - and usually we're done about 10-15 minutes prior to rope drop. So it is possible to both eat & see the characters and be done before rope drop if you so desire.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure we would be in the park for the 9am opening. We usually arrive for our ADR's 10-15 before so I think with an hour for the meal we should be fine.

I agree we have gone for 1st seating and gotten their early so weird to walk down main st and no one is around and we have been done by 9am for rope dropping it was great hit the rides and was ahead of the crowds.

We just went 3 weeks ago for an 8:05 reservation. They didn't open up early enough for us to get to the restaurant 10-15 min before our reservation. In fact, I don't think they even let anyone in until around 8am. So we had to dash to the restaurant and skip a lot of pictures :( We checked in right on time and got seated right away. We didn't wait for any characters as they came out soon after we were seated. But, our server was slow and by the time we got our bill and got out of there it was around 9:20.

This didn't work out well for us either. It was a nice breakfast but by the time we ate and all the characters made their rounds, by the time we ran to fantasyland there were already lines forming-and we didn't get any pictures of main street because we were in a hurry to get to the adr.

I do like eating a late dinner at CP and then being one of the last ones OUT of the park-then you miss the resort bus lines too. Also, I'm a night owl, not a morning person, so that could also be why I prefer that route!

Same for us. I have another one for our October trip - also 8.05 am. I wonder if this is a new thing where they only let you in much later now. We have always got in about 30 minutes early and got all our pics as soon as we arrived, which still lets us check in at CP around 20 minutes early. And as above, never more than an hour, tops.

Ask for your bill before you're finished. Like halfway through your meal or sooner. The bill always takes waaaay too long at any restaurant, IMO.

This is the neat part about an early ADR at CP. You get the see the park empty (great photo op!) Remember, the characters come around while you are eating--so it's not like you have to queue up and wait. CP breakfast is one of my faves.:wizard:

I do want to eat there one day. On many occasions the standing line outside makes me think differently. Why can't this place get it right??? U would think Elvis was in the building.

Aaah, but you've never been so you don't really know he isn't .....

There will always be a line outside because people check in early, some do so late, and so what you see is not always a true reflection of how long you have to wait. I have always seen huge lines, but never waited more than around 10 minutes to be seated. Go on, give it a try. I think it's wonderful!

LOL when I saw the original post I was going to say the same thing. The line is very misleading. I never had to wait long.

We have never had to wait long either, but this is the only time my kids requested that we make sure we are done by opening. I also agree getting the check out of the way is half the battle.

We have never had trouble getting into the parks a little early for the ADR we just tell a CM we have an ADR and don't think we have had any trouble getting in at 7:45 or 7:50 to wait.

Same here it does take way too long in almost every restaurant to get the bill, I always feel like I'm being held hostage. About half way through the trip I started doing that, after all there is way too much to see and do for me to just sit around and wait on the bill.

We do this every trip! We love the food and the characters, and with little ones it is nice to have the baby care center right next door for convenient quick change and on to Fantasy Land! And yes, ask for the check EARLY. That does seem to take too long at many of the buffets. We once waited around 20-30 minutes at Cape May and we had planned to get over to DHS just after rope drop. The food and character interaction there were great, but I haven't been back because of that.

We had an 8:05 the first week of March, were the third group seated, and were out in the park about 8:35. We waited for two of the four characters to come around, then decided pictures in front of an empty castle were more important. :lmao:

May I ask another question about CP timing? Our ADR is at 8:20 AM in June and we are staying at the Polynesian. I don't have much of an idea how long it will take to get from the resort to the doors of the restaurant, even though they are close as can be! Also, does anyone know if the MK stroller rental will be open before 9:00 or will we have to go back to the entrance after breakfast? Seems like that would be swimming upstream against the crowds entering the park!!

Thanks,
Jackie

No idea about the stroller, but I would leave your resort at 7:30. You'll get to MK before 8am, and they'll let you walk up to CP.
