We are busily planning our Disney Wedding, our DisneyMoon, and our other Honeymoon to the Dominican Republic!
****************************************************************

We are getting married at Disney's Wedding Pavillion! *yay* pixiedust:

We signed our LOA and recieved our Wedding Annual Park Hopper passes in the mail yesterday!! ::squee!::

I had originally planned to spend a few days DisneyMooning after the wedding...but now I think we'll go a few times before the wedding so I may shorten that and extend our DR honeymoon. We shall see...

I am anxiously awaiting my appointment to go to Franck's Bridal Studio! Has anyone been there? Do we get to taste the food and cake? I have no idea what to expect!!!!!

Any tips for DisneyMooning?? We want to go, but to do things besides the main attractions.

Congratulations! These boards are extremely helpful for planning your Disney wedding and Disneymoon, and everyone is so friendly. I cannot help you with information about a planning session, as I did mine over the phone, but I look forward to reading about your progress!

Hello Hello!

We are planning our "Escape" wedding; but seeing as how we now have to meet the $7,500 minimum...and are quickly surpassing that...it is beginning to feel more like a wishes celebration!

We are waiting to meet with our wedding planner...and I can't wait!!!!

We have so far contracted to have our ceremony at the wedding pavillion followed by our lunch reception and cake cutting celebration in the Key West room at the GF. But...now that I've been reading these boards...I'm thinking of asking our wedding planner (Carol) if we can explore other rooms to host these events.

Does anyone having any suggestions?

We are going to have about 25 people at our ceremony and reception.

I see that most everyone has given some backstory on here about their relationship, so I thought I would do the same!

To start with:
I am 26 years old and will turn 27 during our Disneymoon!
Paul is 29 years old, and a Christmas baby!
:cheer2:

We met in 2008 at work. We spent most of that year in passing as we did not work together. Paul worked on a special project team that created motivational/informational videos that were sent out to everyone that works with us. He is the behind the scenes whiz kid and did all the editing/directing type stuff.

Well, the project team was made up of: Big boss, two editing/camera guys, and a male and female "anchor/actor" if you will.
After a few months, the female anchor was getting ready to go on maternity leave. Instead of leaving her space empty for a few months, Big Boss decided they needed a fill in. He asked his team if they had any suggestions--and DF suggested me! (And no, it had nothing to do with my marvelous acting chops!)
So one day, Big Boss comes and tells me I've been nominated to be in this project. I immediately declined.

Me? On T.V.? In front of hundreds of people?

I. Think. Not.

Except apparently I had no choice in the matter, and was filming two days later.
During our second video shoot, DF and I were left to film a scene alone in a room.

And wouldn't you know it...I really saw DF for the first time and he was really cute.
And wouldn't you know he had the most marvelous shade of sky blue eyes?

And my, wasn't he funny!!!

A few days later, I get an email in my work box from DF inviting me to a sneek peek at the video.
Cut to the next three weeks where we exchange emails daily.

Cut to another week later where we exchange numbers and begin texting.

Cut to another week later where we begin talking on the phone.

Cut to two weeks later where we have a "date" and he kissed me and my oh my doesn't he just send tingles down my spine?!

Cut to, oh say, 9 months later and we are moving in together.

Cut to 3 months after that and we are vacationing in Costa Rica for a week with his parents.

And then...

Congratulations! According to your countdown, you're getting married 1 day after we are, and Carol is our planner as well!

Because you are having an escape wedding, there is no official cake/food tasting, but you can order a smaller cake from the Boardwalk Bakery. If you're having a reception, I think you should be able to do a tasting, but I'm not sure. I'm sure Carol will be able to fill you in.

Congrats and welcome to the DIS! Your ring is SO beautiful! I have a heart-shaped diamond too; I love them.

How cool!! When are you guys going to Disney? We will be arriving on your wedding day! Will you be adding any kind of reception to your package?

Your ring is gorgeous and so unique! I love it! Congratulations on your engagement; can't wait to read more!

Thank you Thank you! I love all things hearts so this ring fits perfectly! :cutie:

First and foremost:
Hi Mom! I introduced my mom to the DisBoards today so that she can get ideas too for the wedding...and she immediately critiqued my writing. Jk Jk!
******************************************************

So today was the most productive wedding planning day to date!
After scouring the DisBoards I found so many ideas that I never would come up with! The biggest one: We can have our reception just about anywhere!
I contacted Carol (our w.p.) today and she gave me basic information about the Attic--which is so cute!
I also saw pictures of Narcoossee's, which is very beautiful!
After all of that...I still think that the Key West room would be the best for us. While I love the Attic, I think that it lends a "casual" feel that wouldn't go with my fairytale princess vibe.
Narcoossees...may be too big. We will only be having 19 adults and 3 babies.
So...I think key West room!

Does anyone have any pictures of the Key West room decorated?

I have no idea what our options for decorating it are...and that is frustrating to me...I like to plan and have my ideas mapped out. :headache:
*******************************************************

A brief to do list:
*Get undergarments for dress
*Get ring bearers pillow (Oh! I saw the cutest one! I will upload a pic when I get home)
*Flower girls baskets (unless we go with the Disney Rose Wand...)
*Patiently wait for Patty Lejune to contact me
*DF'S WEDDING BAND
*?Unity Candle?
*Parent's Gifts
*Invitations
**Boutonierres for Duke of Honor and Best Man
**?Boutonierres for fathers?
**Corsages for mothers
**?Corsages for grandmothers?
**Altar flowers
**Aisle Runner
**Aisle Petals
**Altar runner

I'm sure there are other things that I am forgetting...but at least this is a start! :cheer2:

Oh exciting, you are really planning now! This is definitely a great place to get ideas. It is a little frustrating that sometimes you have to wait for your planner or someone at Disney to let you know what your options are and how much they cost - especially if you don't live near by. But one thing that I have learned is that you are unlimited in your options; if you want it, Disney will make it happen (you will just have to pay for it:)). A lot of the things on your to do list will get done in your floral meeting, which is great! I found that I had a better idea of things after my floral meeting, but the amount of choices you have is a little overwhelming. Happy Planning!

Okay, here we go!

Yesterday I became a little overwhelmed thinking about all the great "Unknowns"...you know, The Unknown Amount of Money to be Spent on Decor, The Unknown Amount of Money to be Spent on Food, etc.
So I called Jessie, the assistant w.p. and expressed some of my concerns.
She pretty much told me that all the answers I need are in the hands of The Great Rosie.

But! What she did was to forward my information over to Rosie, and I heard back almost immediately heard from Jennifer on behalf of Rosie. She was emailing me to find out when I could do a phone consultation with Rosie. I emailed her back right away...but I got an auto reply saying she was out of office until Friday. No big deal, I can wait. :cutie:

I also spoke with Jessie about my concerns for our room. I am afraid that the Key West room may be too small for 23 people. She let me know that she would set up a phone consult with Carol--for today!

Carol called right on time--1:30 on the dot! :cheer2: She gave me her expert opinion--The Key West Room is too small! She instead recommended Salon 8.

Does anyone have pictures of Salon 8?

Carol sent me several pictures, but she said they were of Salon 7, 8 and 9, so I can't really imagine the size/space.

The best part?

I get to go see her and see the rooms in my planning session! :rotfl:

I am so excited!!-->See? I had to bust out with the party banana!!

I am going with DF and Mom to see the rooms and other such things!! Woo Hoo!

We also discussed the menu options. My brain is full of food menus taht I have been sent...but I don't really like any of them. :guilty:

She said to highlight what I like and bring it with us to the planning session and we can try to mix and match to customize the menu.

It seems as though we will do a pre-reception for our guests while we take our pictures, and then we'll come in and do our lunch and cake/champagne.

::SO EXCITED::

Congrats! Your story is so cute and I love your ring! I like your to do list! Looks like mine! hahha.

I had the hardest time finding undergarments....I don't know if you need a strapless bra....but it is hard to find a "pretty" one. and I ended up finding it at H&M (random?) so if your looking! check there they have lots

anyway...can't wait to read more about your plans!

Yay for your site visit on Thursday! I hope that you have a great time, be sure to let us all know how it goes!

I'm soo jealous you got to go down and look at stuff! Not that I would get a planning session with my Escape wedding but I want to be able to SEE the things we have booked ;)

Everything looks great can't wait to read more.

I'm confused...

First off, congrats! I love the story on how you got together! tee hee....

But did you say you're an Escape bride? I'm just curious if they are doing planning sessions now for Escape brides? (As I'm sure other Escape bride-to-be's are too).

Can you just clarify?

WOW. Very cool that you got to meet with your planner and see some sites etc. and meet with Rose.
I'm actually very surprised they let you do this because I know there are a number of Escape brides that have gone way over $7500 as well but did not get a planning session even after they've asked.

Maybe they'll start to make exceptions or have new regulations as far as if you spend a certain amount you can meet with a planner etc.

That would be great for Escape brides! It's like you've broken through the "glass ceiling"! :lmao:
