Hi all

I will be in Disney for my 22nd birthday and want to have a character meal on my birthday. As I have never been to Disney before I don't know which time of day is best for a character meal or which is the best restaurant for this.

I am thinking Breakfast would be the best time so then I would start my birthday with Micky and the gang but are the evening meals more fun?

I am staying in Disney (Saratoga Springs) so I guess I can get early transport to the park restaurants for breakfast?

Also once I have decided how would I book this as I can only see a phone number on the web sites but would prefer to book online if possible as I live in the UK and the meal is not till September (6th).

Thanks for your help in advance.

definetly go to chef mickeys!!! it is a blast! you can make online reservations....just click on dining reservations and search for chef mickeys. breakfast and dinner are both really fun! make sure that you add in the notes that you are celebrating your birthday for some special treatment ;)

If you want to see Mickey, you have a few choices for breakfast.. However, only one is in a park - the AK.

Tusker House at the AK - has Mickey, Daisy and Goofy with Donald as a greeter. This is a buffet, breakfast only.

'Ohana at the Polynesian Resort - has Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. This is my favorite character meal, btw. :) The meal is served family style and the characters are only at breakfast.

And finally Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort - Last time I read it was Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto. This is also a buffet and is also offered for dinner as well.

Hope this helps a little! :goodvibes

Actually, these characters are only at breakfast, and a wonderful breakfast it is...they first serve you a nice fruit salad and delicious pineapple bread. Then they bring a large pan of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and roasted potatoes. They also come around with Mickey waffles. It's all you care to eat, so they'll bring you more of whatever you like.

I think that would make a great birthday meal! Happy Birthday and have a great time.

Thanks for catching my mistake. See that's what happens when I don't proof read my posts. Argh!

It is a fantastic breakfast. My favorite in all the World. The food is fresh and wonderful. And the characters are awesome as well.

'Ohana has a yummy breakfast, but would you rather see Lilo & Stitch over Donald and Daisy/Goofy? I haven't been, but people on here really like to Tusker House. Chef Mickey's doesn't have a good dinner, breakfast is much better.

I have never loved Chef Mickey's, but it may be the best option for you. It's your first trip, and eating with Mickey and the gang is a particularly special and memorable experience. Breakfast is safer than dinner.

Another option for dining with Mickey is at Tusker House at the Animal Kingdom. The food is a tad less traditional, but it's wonderful. It's probably my favorite character meal. The one potential snag for you is that the characters are in safari garb instead of their typical outfits.

You can make reservations 180 days before the trip. Because Chef Mickey's fills quickly, I recommend booking as soon as possible.

Have fun!

I've been celebrating my birthday at WDW for the past few years. I love to start the day with an 8am breakfast at Crystal Palace with Pooh. I just LOVE walking up a nearly empty Main St on my birthday. This year MK is open at 8am for EMH so I'll be having a late breakfast with Pooh instead.

I really enjoy the breakfast there-lots of great choices there. Love the omlet station and really enjoy the "french toast" that is really more like a deep fried donut.

Then I have dinner at the California Grill.

Just 3 weeks from today for me!
