Ferb, I know What We're Going to Do Today! - Updated 9/30

The show however was still fantastic. Sadly, I forgot to take any pictures. The jokes are a bit corny, but there is something in the show for everyone. There is something I like about a show everyone can enjoy. They actually had added in a few Christmas songs, and each performance gets tweaked a bit depending on the audience. I've seen it about 4 times or so, and I still love it. It never gets old to me - lots of fun for everyone. The food wasn't bad either. Since it was included in the price I had beer with my meal. Everything is served family style, for you and your party. We were given a big pan of cornbread with fresh butter, salad, bbq ribs and fried chicken, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Nothing fancy, but really tasty. I really loved the cornbread, and we had to get seconds on our chicken and salad. Everything is served in old-fashioned cast iron style pails.

When we got back to the room we went over the plan for the next day. My BFF asked where we were eating dinner the next day. When I told her the restaurant in Mexico, she gave me a funny look and told be that she didn't really like that place when we ate there the last time. My wonderfully relaxing, stress free day was erroding quickly. The waiting around comment had been the first ding in my day, the seating issues at dinner had compounded it, and this news was nearly enough to make me lose it.

I don’t know how many times I had asked my BFF about where she wanted to eat on this trip and where she didn't. I know that I had asked if there was any place we had eaten on our first trip that she didn't like. I had emailed her copies of all the menus for the places I had made ADRS for before hand and asked for her thoughts. I had never heard one word in response to any of that. Until now.

Thank for the review on Hoop show. I have never been as I usually station myself in the parks. :rotfl:

I'm hoping to branch out a bit and visit more resort entertainment next trip. I will have a car as I'm probably staying off-site, so that would be nice to check out this show. Especially if it has good food! LOL!

I'm sorry about your BFF. I got that way too. I like to have a plan & not waste time.
When I was with my BFF & goddaughter at Magic Kingdom, I asked her about the same things - what do you want to ride? not ride? eat? not eat?, etc. I sent her links to check out, etc. Then on the day of, in the park, I get hemming & hawing, "I don't knows", & it irritates the living daylight out of me.

We've been friends long enough where I can let it show a little bit. I just closed my eyes a minute, take a breath and try to still have a good time. She knew that she annoyed me; I said you ahve a choice between this & this, now pick. That was enough to get us back on track. Especially with a 4 year old in tow.

I appreciate her (& my goddaughter!) coming & spending time with me, but there is only so much I can take. :upsidedow

You're making her plan all the ADR's for the October trip right??

I'm EXACTLY the same way...and a Libra, too!!!! That comment about the restaurant would have gotten to me, too. I know what you mean about not speaking up about what you want to do just to make everyone else happy. That's SO funny that we do the same thing! For that reason in particular, I wanted to be sure that I get enough time alone in October to do everything I want to do! I seriously can't wait. :yay:

The signs of true libras! Normally I'll just stew about it for the rest of the day, and by the next day I'm fine. This trip I just couldn't drop it for some reason. Sigh. That pared with the crowds everywhere just started getting to me.

It's fun. The show has barely changed since I first saw it back in the 70's but there are portions that are improvised when they interact with the crowds. I've always had a lot of fun seeing it. It's not something I'd do every trip, but every few years (or in my case every 10 years) it's fun.

Ha! I got that too. Luckily that doesn't bother me too much. (At least it didn't early on in the trip). I've come to expect that.

I wish I was able to feel more comfortable being honest. I probably would have felt better during the trip.

You're making her plan all the ADR's for the October trip right??

Heidi, are you reading my mind? :rotfl: I shot her an e-mail this week, asking if there was anywhere inparticular she wanted (or didn't want) to eat. I got another every where is fine. (Completely ignoring her dislike of the San Angel Inn). I would make her do it, if I wasn't so much of a control freak. :lmao:

:confused3 I'd send her another email with a list of fake ADR's that you know she doesn't like (including San Angel Inn a couple times....one lunch one dinner) and she what she says.

Seriously thou....if she really is your best friend than you should be able to say to her "remember back in Dec. you didn't want to eat at SAI but you never told me until the night before, even after I had asked you to review the list/menus. I don't want that to happen again."

It really comes down to one of my mottos "If you don't Vote, you can't B*^%$"!

The Boardwalk grounds are just beautiful! I could definitely handle staying there one day! The Pina Colava looks delicious! I could definitely handle one of those right now!

I don't blame you for getting annoyed -- I would have been the exact same way!

I'm sorry that your night had a rough ending. I hope the trip improved!

Thanks. The rest of the trip was mostly good. A few rough patches though.

That was my motto this trip too. I didn't really go crazy trying to change out the SAI ressie. I can tell already that she going to put in the same amount of input, so this trip I'm not even going to worry. She doesn't like it, she can skip dinner. ;)

I could use one of those too right about now. Anything alcoholic would do actually. Is that wrong for 10 am on a Monday? :rotfl:

I guess we all have our trip diva moments. This one was definitely mine!

Everything ok, Crissy?? Haven't seen you in a spell! :goodvibes

I woke up feeling slightly less irritated than I had been at night before. We checked at the concierge desk to see if we could find someplace else for dinner that night besides the San Angel Inn, but nothing during the times that worked for us. We ended up just keeping the ADR we had. My friend said she'd find something.

Staying in a concierge room we had access to the concierge lounge for breakfast, so we headed over to grab ourselves something before heading out for the day. The concierge lounge was just 2 doors down from our room, making it incredibly convienent. You have to love being able to grab your breakfast, and be backin your room in about 5 minutes. :thumbsup2 We could have eaten in the lounge, but I had been dreaming of getting to sit out on our balcony.

It made for a wonderfully relaxing start to the day. The quiet pool outside our room was peaceful and it was a perfect day to sit out enjoying a meal.

The offerings were pretty basic, but this is pretty much what I eat for breakfast on a normal basis anyways so I was happy. The fruit was all sweet, and the pastery was really good too, and just the right size.

We were off to the studios this morning, so we chose to hop on the boat. We were able to snag seats at the very rear of the boat and enjoy the leisurely ride. The ride to the Studios from the Boardwalk takes about 20 minutes. The Boardwalk is the first stop, so your stopping at all the other resorts. For Epcot it's the reverse. You go directly from the Boardwalk to Epcot. We didn't mind at all. We had plenty of time to enjoy our ride.

A look back at the Boardwalk from the middle of the lake. The resort side -

And then were off to Hollywood studios with a last look at the Boardwalk -

We got to the studios right at about rope drop. Is there any question where we were headed off to first thing? (Do they even let anyone wander anywhere else anylonger? :rotfl: )

What a perfect way to start your day, especially after a tough ending to the night before. Hopefully you weren't crushed in the rush to TSM!

Breakfast on a Boardwalk balcony sounds heavenly!!! :lovestruc

It was so relaxing! No running off to a restaurant or food court. Just a few quiet moments in the room.

It was great not feeling the rush that morning. I was surprised how quiet the boats were that morning.

Just catching up a little. I would have been annoyed too. There is alot of planning involved that some people don't realize. And though I am a control freak too I still would want some input.

The grounds of the Boardwalk look beautiful.

Can't wait to read more.:surfweb:

I love your breakfast on the balcony.

Note to self, must stay concierge again at some point. Too much fun!

Sorry about your friend. It's so frustrating, especially for a Libra, to plan and plan and plan and then have someone be less than enthused. I have these issues every time I go with my extended family, and it can get downright grating.

I think that has to be the best way to have breakfast on vacation.....grab some yummies (that you don't have to wait in line to pay for) and then just go sit outside.....ahhhhhh I feel relaxed just thinking about it!

It drove me nuts this trip for some reason. I really should have known better. This year when we go I'm refusing to let it drive me crazy.

The Boardwalk grounds were great. I loved how peaceful and relaxing it was.

Breakfast on the balcony was wonderful. I'm hoping we get one at the Beach Club in Oct.

I just wish my friend would give me a little bit of feedback. I was trying so hard to plan a great trip for both of us and it was frustrating to not have any idea what she really wanted to do.

Traveling to Disney with my family I have the opposite problem. I never get to do anything I really want to do on those trips.

I think that has to be the best way to have breakfast on vacation.....grab some yummies (that you don't have to wait in line to pay for) and then just go sit outside.....ahhhhhh I feel relaxed just thinking about it!

It was nice not having to go "out" for breakfast for a few days. So much more relaxing to just hang out in the room.

All caught up and looking forward to the next installment!

:flower3:

Soon, I promise!

Arriving at DHS right at rope drop, we entered the fray to make the dash over to TSM. Luckily there wasn't too much dashing. ;) The crowd was very well behaved. My friend took our tickets and headed over to the line to get on the ride. I loved the Army men that they have out doing a bit of crowd control at TSM in the morning.

At TSM they will let you enter the outdoor section of the line without one member of your party, but once the line enters the building you have to have your entire party with you. My friend caught up with me while I was still outside so I didn't even have to hang back at the door letting people go in front of me. :thumbsup2 I love the queue line at TSM. It's always such a flash back in time for me. I used to play with so many of these toys as a kid.

My friend loved the ride, as I knew she would. She is the most competitive person ever on Buzz so there really wasn't any doubt in my mind she'd be hooked on TSM. After TSM we headed over to my favorite ride in any of the parks. Tower of Terror! Seriously, I could ride this all day. For me it's more about just the ride itself, it's about the complete attraction. I love the theming of the ride. I'm such a geek that I love when there is a line outside the attraction so I can wander through the grounds checking out all the decaying details Disney adds in. I even have the music they play in the lobby and on the grounds on my ipod. Like I said, I'm a complete and utter ToT geek. Of course I had to stop and take some pictures, even though I think I take the exact same pictures every time I go to DHS. It's a sickness. :rolleyes2

I love the ceiling in the lobby of ToT.

Every time I see this dead flower arrangement, it makes me think of Miss Havishams rotting wedding cake in Great Expectaions.

I rednecked the picture on the way out. I'm in the tie dyed Mickey shirt.

4ToTRedneck_opt.jpg

After ToT we headed over to RnR when I saw this garbage can. I can't express how much I hate the stupid hat being were it is. I use to love seeing Grauman's theater as you walked into the park. It used to feel so much more wide open through that area, now it just feels crowdeded to me. At least the pretty view lives on the garbage cans at least. :lmao:

5Can_opt.jpg

Nevertheless, after RnR we headed over the the hat where we saw Pooh and Eeyore. Being the two big kids that we are we had to stop for pictures. Pooh and Eeyore were great. They played around with us for awhile, since there wasn't a big line to meet them.

6TiggerEyore_opt.jpg

Afterwards we took our time wandering back to TSM to use our fastpasses. The park was beginning to get a bit crowded. On the way we stopped to ride the Great Movie Ride for the second time that day. We had ridden it earlier in the day on our way to ToT, but we both really like this ride. My friend had never seen the Cowboy scene so we were hoping it would be running. When we had ridden it earlier in the day only one of the cars had been running while I was on, but when we were entering into the final room where they show the film clips, I could see that the group in front of us had been running all of the cars. I was hopeful we'd luck out. When we got up to get on the ride I could see that all cars were running. (The first two cars get the cowboy scene, the back two cars get the mobster). They directed us to one of the rear cars, but I nicely asked if we could pretty please with sugar on top ride in the cowboy car. The CM's laughed and let us up to one of the front cars. :woohoo: It's been so long since I saw the cowboy scene I really enjoyed it.

We hit Star Tours as well before heading over to TSM. After the ride the line to meet Buzz and Woody wasn't terribly long so we hopped in line to meet them. Hands down best character interaction of the trip. Buzz kept pretending to hit on my friend, and leave the meet and great area with her as if he was going to go home with her. It was hysterical. The CM's who keep order in the area started getting into it too. At one point he was nearly out the door, and she started yelling at him and pretending to grab on to him and drag him back into the room, complete with bracing her leg on the wall for more leverage. While all the madness was going on, Woody and I just kept shaking our heads together.

7aBuzzandWoodyedit_opt.jpg

Just the perfect reason why adults should have just as much fun as kids meeting characters. It was definitely one of my favorite character meets of all time. Rates up in the top 3 along with the first time I met Donald Duck, and when I got to meet Captain Jack a few years back.

After our meet we headed out of the park to head to a mystery resort to check out some Christmas Decorations and have a bit of lunch. The plan was to hop on the first bus that showed up, that we hadn't already visited or one that we were planning to visit later in the week for a meal. Such a mystery, were would we end up? :confused3
