Looking for a one night stay outside WDW before arriving at POR

We are driving down from the midwest and will arrive one day prior to our checkin date at the POR. I want to stay close to WDW and POR so as to not have to drive far on the morning of our check in.

I am looking for a decent but budget minded place to stay. We wont be there long as our day will be long enough from the traveling. So I am not looking for a lot of flare or amenities...but I am not looking for a roach coach either...lol.

I will be on Rt 75, then I would imagine end up on the Turnpike and even Wester Expy.

Any tips on a great one night place to stay?

I would even be open to staying at a memorable quirky place too...any of those around?

We just stayed one night at the Orlando Vista on SR 535 a few weeks ago. It's just off property at the end of "Hotel Row" where the DTD hotels are. We were able to book it via Hotwire for $43.00! The room was decent sized (about the size of a Moderate) and clean. We would definately book there again for a one nighter.

For some odd reason, I thought your thread title was "looking for a one night STAND" :rotfl2:, I think I may need to get more sleep:confused3

Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista is right around the corner from DTD and very affordable, recently renovated, gated parking, fairly quiet, and decent continental breakfast with optional paid hot breakfast. Good spot for a short or one night stay.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express right by DW. The rooms were huge and clean. Kids loved the water slide/waterfall pool (small but effective). We got a great deal online for around $70 last summer. Includes a decent breakfast. My only complaint was that the elevator ran slow.

I have a couple of nights booked here for this summer-the special was $39! The only thing is the cancellation fee is $20. And I will have to cancel one night, but still a great deal for our arrival day before we check into the Poly.

ETA: Looks like they have it fro $49 now, still a great deal!

My Dh and I are escaping to florida for a cruise and we are getting there a few days early before our ship leaves and of course we need to stay and go to disney  our first kid free  so we booked at Buena Vista Suites for 88 a night and free hot breakfast. The pictures and reviews are great so this is where we are stayin, we also have 2 days inside at the value we decided to check them out with out the kids so when we come back in Dec with the kids we will know if we want to book here or eleswhere.. good luck;)

Try Priceline! I got us a room at the Springhill Suites not too far from DTD for $40 during Christmas week. Hotwire also has a deal going for a 3 star hotel near Maingate for $29 a night right now.

I am only interested in hearing about deals if you actually have stayed at the place you are recommending. Thanks.

We usually do this too and this is where we stay for night one. It is not fancy but clean and safe. It is right down the road from property and downtown disney. There are also numerous good places to eat within walking distance. I have never paid more than $45 for a night by booking online at least 30 days out. Good luck!

Hello,

We have gotten Regal Sun on many occasions through Hotwire and paid $59 was the price the last time we went (last June). We love it there and have actually stayed there for a longer period of time once. Its close enough so that you can get to your vacation hotel. It clean (and I a true Hotel snob :rotfl: )

I think that you will like it. Also the Buena Vista its absolutely cool. Its next to the Caribe Royale and its right across the street from the 7-11 which helps when you arrive late at night and you happen to be hungry. We have done this one December 2008

I hope this helps. Have a great time :wizard::thumbsup2
