I don't know if this could be true, but is there a cool/updated fanny pack? I usually use a drawstring backpack at Disney, but I hate looking for my stuff all messed up at the bottom of the bag. I was think having a hands free bag would be good, but some fanny packs are too "nerdy" Any suggestions would be great

I'm not sure that "cool" and "fanny pack" can go together in the same sentence:rotfl: just kidding....

I bring a couple of different bags.

1. sinch sac and I put my stuff in zip lock bags to keep like items together. (when I have quite a bit to carry) I'll put my lip balm/hand sanitzer etc. in a sandwich size zip, etc...
2. vera bradley mini hipster
3. I got this cool bag/purse thingie (technical term)...on each end of the strap are clips then the actual bag(s) have loops so you can interchange what size bag you want to clip on, or you can clip on all 3. Each one is a different size. And its adjustable so you can wear it over one shoulder (like a purse) or across your chest.

another thing I purchased on a visit to "the World" was a camera strap (I am not a big photo person) but it was a small skinny strap that I could wear around my neck (I know, looking like the tourist that I am... And I have the nerve to make fun of a fanny pack)... by wearing the camera if free'd up space in my bag & also I ended up taking alot more pictures because it was handy.

I beg to differ. :goodvibes

My fanny pack rocks! I get lots of compliments when I'm in the world and people wanting to know where I got it. Put it on and you mostly forget about it.

Please note the dual water bottle holders and multi-compartments. ;)

There are actually some Baggallini bags that can be worn around your waist or as a cross body/shoulder bag. Go to ebags.com and search "baggallini waist" and they should show up.
I once had someone comment on a fanny pack I was wearing at Disney ... he had a not-so-nice-name for it ... I had to point out to him (he was there with just his girlfriend) that he should get back to me in few years when he was chasing a couple of kids around the park as to how he felt about having both hands free.

Right...I never thought I would wear a fanny pack but after being at the world a couple of times now with my kids I am really considering it - if I can find an ok looking one

In high school, I traveled with a tour group all over Europe - and we all wore fanny packs. I think they are super comfortable and convenient... But they are dorky ;)

Who cares! You're on vacation - you're never going to see any of these people again! (Which is what I tell myself when I go into the pool at my resort, LOL).

:wizard:

What about a cross-body bag? Much more hip, and pretty much serves the same purpose - you can get at all of your stuff easily without taking it off, and if you get one with a comfy strap, it really is comfortable to wear all day.

I did this for our last trip, and it didn't bother me even with heavy stuff in it over 7 days.

Haven't been to the mall much this year, but last year they were everywhere and at every price point. :goodvibes

I've been looking at cross-body bags, but can't decide on one! Which kind do you carry? Most of the reviews, on the bag sites, are from people who carry it as a purse or whatever. Not very helpful if you're going to Disney World for 10 days! Whole different situation! ;)

I love Mountain Equipment Co-op's Pod Slings. Cross body, comfortable, VERY well made. My husband carries a regular one daily (I tease him and call it his Murse), and I just got the larger size one for our Disney trip. Go to www.mec.ca and search for "pod" and you'll see the options. LOVE them.

Wow ... I've never seen a bag like that before sammielyn. I would probably consider it but in FL I'd be concerned about a tan line. :rotfl:
I do prefer Baggallini crossbody bags to fanny packs. The sale ends today that they have going on but I'm sure they will have another sale start up tomorrow. Just be sure to check the size of the bag if you do place an order ... some of the Baggallini bags are small. I have a couple that I'm considering but I'm planning on getting another Vinylmation Mickey to get signed this trip and I want him to fit in my bag.

I bought a lunch bag that is a packpack I found it at kmart with the lunch boxes its insulated, waterproof and small. We taken it to the land. many of our friends have borrowed it to take to dw. It has actually gone more than us considering this will be our first trip to the world:lmao:

Fanny pack and cool just can not be used in the same sentence - no matter waht brand, what style they just can't. I agree they are convienent but in no way are they cool.

Personally I have never used one. We have a great sling bag we always use.

Happy travels.

They are definitely nerdy, but chasing after two young boys, it's a necessity for me. The cross body bag is too hot (we go in the dead heat of summer), so I like the fanny pack. Plus mine held a water bottle, which made it perfect. This time I'm going to get better at putting it on my fanny side when I take a picture!!! I look like a complete nerd! But on the last day of our last WDW trip, my fanny pack broke. It was about 10 years old and I loved it. Now i'm going to try and find that North Face one... looks like my old one.

I'll admit that the North Face Fanny Pack did look pretty good!!! But it's nothing I would use... We always have a sinch sack for one of the kiddies... But Im pretty partial to my back pack!

I am with the op. I have tried several hipsters and messenger bags. They always get my way or just plain weigh me down. I am leaning towards the Kipling Presto. It is a convertible fanny pack. It has two pockets on the outside and a zipper pouch behind it. I also like this vintage Mickey Mouse fanny pack that I found on Ebay. Here is a link to it on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Classic-Mickey-Mouse-Fanny/dp/B000TAGVWM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1271090495&sr=8-1 It has the same idea but it Mickey on it:thumbsup2

So I will not be "cool".....

but I will be at disney!

How much stuff do you plan on putting in your pack?? If it consists of just a few items like cellphone or small digital camera, your cards and some money..I would check out the site below It is used by runners and it is super thin..I think a few of the dollar store ponchos might fit in it as well.. I have one and I love it!!!!! It really does sit flat up against you does not ride up and down. http://spibelt.com

by the way I am not a runner NOR am I runner sized :rotfl:

Does the model's body come with that? :lmao: Ah, to be in shape again. Very cool little pack though... if my trip was further away I'd order one!

Judging from your arm I'm going to venture that you're a dude. I think guys can carry off a fanny pack far better than women can.

(If you're a woman- oops...sooooo sorry!)
