I just booked the Hilton Tokyo Bay for our Japan/ Hong Kong trip in April. I am so excited to visit my last two Disney parks in the world and so glad there is now a place on the Dis to discuss both of these parks as I am going to need all the advice I can get. Looking forward for the 100 plus minute wait for the Pooh ride the most. :rotfl:

Does anyone have any pictures or advice for staying at this hotel and getting to and from the parks?

Mel

I don't know about the hotel, but to give you advice....get to TDL and RUN toward Pooh's Hunny Hunt, THEN get a fastpass first, and get in line...by that time you may only have a 15-20 minute wait...or less. I did that and was able to enjoy it twice without waiting a long time ;)

It also may be lucky that the new Monsters Inc. ride is open, so people may be going to that ride first.

Yep...Hunny hunt first...lol...

It was a 170minute wait by about 11am with a 15min wait for a fastpass.
Buzz was 150min a this time.
You feel like royalty in the FP queue with these massive queues :lmao:

Haven't stayed at that hotel but it looked very nice when we visited.
Getting to and from...the monorail :D I would allow 20mins I guess at least for this? The TDL station is right AT the park entry. The Disneysea I think was slightly further but not far...at all...just not right at the security check point :lmao:

Oh and I guess this should be posted generally but for the photographers out there NO TRIPODS of ANY kind are allowed. Even the mini gorilla pods.

I would skip Pooh first and head straight for the stand by line for Monsters Inc as its currently the most popular attraction in the park. Than go grab a Fast Pass for Pooh and than head into the stand by line for Splash Mountain followed by the Haunted Mansion and Its a Small World. If you follow the advice and arrive early you can get a good head start on everyone else.

Monsters Inc. Ride and Go Seek is where you need to use your Fast Pass. We got our FastPasses at 8:50 am, before the park opened to regular guests and our return time was 1:30 pm. Standby queue times exceeded 180 minutes during my visit (mid-week, mid-July 2009).

Pooh's Hunny Hut still gets long lines, but from personal experience, they dropped to less than 30 minutes during the evening.

Hi,

New to the forums, long-term resident here in Japan and have lost count of the number of TDR visits.

RE Fastpasses - be aware that once you have a fastpass you won't be able to get another one until the time has expired on it. Definitely need to prioritize.

Quickest way to Monsters Inc from the entrance gate is to head straight through World Bazaar, but don't go straight all the way through. About half way through you hit an "intersection", head to the right for Monsters Inc and Tomorrow Land. This is also the best option to get to Pooh's Hunny Hunt too.

Also, from the official TDR website - Closures
March 23, 2010 - April 30, 2010 Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek!

If you're going to be here after 5th April then you're hitting a good time as all the kids will be back at school. The end of April gets busier again with multiple holidays.

Welcome to the boards Di-inJ, hope as a regular to the Tokyo Disney Resort you'll be able to provide your experience frequently to the many who are planning trips. Its also nice to have more members from Japan with first hand knowledge on here.

My husband and I will be in TDL April 20-23. How are these days in terms of crowds. any holidays?

I hope not very crowded. I'll be at the parks April 18 - 21. Say Hi if you see me. :goodvibes

We're all there at the same time! 19th to the 22nd for us.

Where is the info for closed attractions on the TDL website? Just want to see what else might be down for maintenance while we're there.

I posted this in the other thread, but here is the crow calendar I found.

TDL04-10-sunny.png

Expected number of guests in colored boxes (x1000) if weather is nice. Goes down like 30 ~ 40% if rainy. Green supposed to be lighter crowds. The darker it gets, the more crowded.

We were there last year around April 19-23 time frame, and the lines were pretty short overall. The standby for Hunny Hunt was about 40 minutes. I don't think we waited more than 35-40 minutes for anything, and most stuff was more in the 20-30 minute range at TDL, and 5-20 minute range at TDS. The one major exception was Monsters Inc. which had about 180 minute wait in the standby line. We just got a fast pass for that, and one ride was enough.

We thought it was a great time of year to go! I hope everyone who's going this April has a great time! Be sure to check back here and give us a report when you get back!

Welcome to the "I've been to all eleven Disney Parks" club!

I stayed at Hilton Tokyo Bay hotel last time and enjoyed it. There is a monorail stop practically across the street. Buy a multi-day ticket and use the monorail for both TokyoDisneyland and TokyoDisneySea. You can take a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the monorail, but the monorail is so close to the hotel that I just walked.

If you are a HiltonHonors elite member, they have a great lounge with free breakfast and wonderful views of Tokyo Bay.

even if you're not a hilton honors member, it pays to sign up before you go to the hilton at tokyo disney....hilton honors members sometimes are upgraded and receive better treatment..

i enrolled my daughter right before her trip to TDR, and when she got to the hilton there, they upgraded her because she was hilton honors (even though she was a brand new member)..

and if memory serves, there's no charge to join....

I may be a couple of years away from my trip to TDR, but I joined Hilton Honors just now. Thanks for the info.
