A Six Thousand Kilometer Road Trip to Disneyland and Back- TR has started on page 37!

It's great to finally see someone from the same area! And I am glad to hear from someone who is doing a similar trip. Are you doing a trip report or anything?

This has nothing to do with my current trip report, but I thought I would share some exciting news anyways.

After reading so many TR's over the last couple weeks, I've been thinking about how nice it would be to see a Disney park at Christmas Time. So I mentioned the idea of a possible Christmas 2011 trip to WDW to my boyfriend, and all he said was "as long as we don't have to drive". I didn't hear a "no" in there, so of course, I took that to mean we are possibly going to start planning a trip to WDW as soon as we get back from DL!!! :woohoo:

Woohoo!!

I may have spoke a little too soon about a possible trip to WDW, but we will see what happens. My boyfriends brother has decided on getting married in Mexico next March, so as soon as we get back from Disneyland, we will have to start saving for that. I am hoping if I can find good enough prices that we might still be able to squeeze in a WDW trip. I would like to go there before we have kids. And now that I am almost 30, I really need to work on the kid thing soon!

Ok, I know I am a little old for video games, and I really don't play that many. But the other night I watched Nightmare Before Christmas for the first time (I know! I know! shame on me!) and the music just brought back so many memories of playing Kingdom Hearts 2, that I am considering playing it again. It's the only game I have ever actually finished on my own, and I just loved it. Probably mostly the Disney aspect of it, but it was still a great game for me. I mostly loved the music, and everytime I hear music that was played in it now, I think about how much I want to play again. So maybe I will and use that as a means for passing time and it will for sure help get me in the Disney spirit! As if I need any assistance though! :rotfl:

I love my video games. I have my own PSP and my own DS. I am the one that buys the video games and all that. So, if you are too old, goodness I am ancient.:rotfl:

I love them too, and I play them, I just never like a game enough to finish it. There are so many that I have started and just lose interest, or get frustrated and then I never touch it again. Kingdom Hearts is the only one. My boyfriend is obsessed with computers and video game stuff, so we have every system you can think of. He has even rebuilt 2 arcade machines, which we now have sitting in our basement rec room. Now he wants to rebuild a pinball table, but I have no idea if we have the room for it! :confused3

I love the Final Fantasy games. I can play them over and over again. I am an addict. :rotfl2:

I have been debating getting into those. Just the later ones though. Dillon plays the older ones all the time, and I just don't think I can play those ones and like them. Then again I am not sure the only reason I like Kingdom Hearts is the Disney. I love that I can summon Stitch to come and lick the face of the boss I am fighting to distract him! :lmao: And I just LOVE the music, that pretty much made the game for me. I ended up getting the soundtrack for KH2!!

I tend to enjoy the storylines that go with them. Geeky I know.

I really do want to try a FF one of these days. Maybe the new one is a good place to start? Or go a little older?

I still have to play Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, which I got when it was released for PS2. It was originally a GameBoy Advance game. But I am contemplating playing KH2 again. I will probably do it will Dillon. He hasn't played it, so we can take turns, and just go through the story together. Should be fun!

I think that FFX is the easiest to start with, but if you want a game that has women as the heroes play FFX-2. They are all great fun but I never tried FFXI it was internet based so it didn't do it for me and frankly FFXII wasn't that great. We don't have a PS3 otherwise I would probably be playing FFXIII as I type this.

I was talking to Dillon about them, and he was saying that I might enjoy the Cronicles ones, as they are a little closer to the Kingdom Hearts type of game. As in you actually get to fight the opponents instead of telling your character to fight and letting the game to it on it's own. I always thought that part about those games were silly!

I have been thinking if I should start buying Disney gift cards for our trip. But not sure how much money I will need. Do they work everywhere in Disney? I was thinking about using them mostly for eating and souvenirs. Do they work at food carts, or just restaurants? :confused3 I'd like to start getting them now, so that I have less money I have to worry about having at the time of the trip.

I have the Chronicle games but as far as I am concerned they suck. Sorry Dillon. The fighting style is more like Kingdom Hearts though.

I will try a FF game one of these days. I will look into them a bit more and see which one I like best to start. I decided to start Kingdom Hearts 2 tonight in the mean time. Love it so much! I recommend it to anyone that loves playing games, and is of course, a Disney fan!

Ok, so I have been watching the airmiles site for their Disney ticket deals, as we have enough to pay for the majority of the tickets. Until just the last couple days, the tickets they had up could only be used until the end of April. Now they have a 5 day for the price of 3 deal up, but you have to use it before Sept 30th...our first day is Oct 2nd! :headache: So frustrating! 2 more days and it would have been fine to order them! I just hope they post something by August at the latest. This will save us over $400 by using airmiles. Also by August, we will have enough to pay for both tickets in full. So here's to hoping!!

I would consider trying to get there 2 days earlier, but I don't want to ask for more time off work, as I am already taking 2 extra days over top of my holidays. They are overtime hours that I will have saved, but still. I don't want to be away for that long when it's hard enough for them to be without me for just one day, let alone 7.

I hate doing the waiting game with ticket prices and such. I am always afraid I am going to end up at the ticket booth waiting to buy tickets and that is a total bummer. I am sure the prices will go down again before your next trip. They will probably run the same deal they ran before this one where the adults play for the kids price.

That would be nice if this airmiles thing doesn't work out. But I see Airmiles updated their site a month before the tickets are able to be used, so as long as they do that again and it doesn't take a month to ship them ( a lot of businesses for some reason say 6 to 8 weeks) we should be ok. Then tickets are free!

Free is a price that can't be beat!!

That's right! That's $400 that can be used to spend on all that yummy food I keep reading about and souveniers!!
