Oh man, I gotta' get crackin' on the shirt!!!!

Ok guys,

DisneyFed is going low profile for a bit.....off to MIL's house in Myrtle Beach for the weekend, then going over to Lake Seminole for some Bass Fishin' with a buddy from Texas...

They've been catching some nice fish over there recently, hopefully it keeps up!! I'll be at Wingate's Bass Fishin Resort for all of next week!!

You guys have fun without me:rolleyes::lmao:
Fed: Our DD's inlaws live in Calabash, just north of Myrtle Beach. We've been down a couple times. Last time, we had a oceanfront house in Holden Beach, which was great! Have a good time! :thumbsup2

I like this best. The same character with personalization is great. Thank you for all your work on this.

Can this be added to the front page or the Dis Dad 4 front page, so that everyone can get in on the action.
Thanks! Nate gets half of the credit, too. We combined ideas. I don't know if it can be added but I don't see why not.

well didnt have a good day today. went out to the garage and noticed some paper on the floor. it was from taco bell.:confused3 we dont really eat at taco bell. called dw and she said the 3 dollars in cash was missing from the ash tray. i called the local police and the officer,(i went to school with) said im the 3rd one today. they took about $300 of meat from our freezer and 3 bucks from dws car. the mini van was locked!!! they didnt take power tools, snow blower only food and money. the cop took the reciept from taco bell, said its 2 weeks old there tape probley only runs for 24 hrs. im more upset that someone has to steel food. they left my air compressor, everything, just took food. the other break ins only food and change taken. dont know what to make of it. :confused3

WOW! Sorry to hear that, Dave. Eventually, they'll get caught and you might get an answer for why they are only taking certain things.

Here's the math for a T-shirt printed on the Front Side only:
No discount code
White shirt - $16.95
Shipping to PA - $4.50
Total - $21.45

Using the 10% off code:
White shirt - $15.25
Shipping to PA - $4.50
Total - $19.75

For printing on the Front and Back, add $4.99. For colors, add $2.99.
I guess that's it. I guess we just have to decide if this is what we want to do for a DIS Dad's T-shirt.

Thanks to zuperdaave for sending me Deb's list. I have done an old fashioned cut and paste to get it off of the note card set up that Deb had it on. If any of you want it like that, please shoot me a PM. However, the file is 55 pages long after the cut/paste and increased font size. Also remember that we're headed to WDW this weekend for a few days, so it may be a while before I can get back with you. Just an FYI for everyone.

I received Deb's list from Zupperdave also, thanks again. I found that going to the page setup under the File header and changing the paper size from index to letter worked great. I then enlarged the font size so it was easier to read. I hope this helps.

I assume you will post pictures once you get your first batch made up?

You bet. :thumbsup2

Thanks for spear-heading this effort for a Dis Dad T-Shirt. :thumbsup2

I also like this Goofy image for my T-Shirt...it's the look I get when I see Aloha Isle...or the Castle...or Spaceship Earth...or the Tree of Life...or etc...

you bet. have a great trip!

I only want to vacation at WDW especially while our kids are young. The DW wants to go maybe every three years and go to other places inbetween. That would be great when the kids are older and can do all of the physical stuff we enjoy like water rafting and hiking. She wants to go see a broadway musical  talk about a bummer. I just believe with small kids there is no better way to get the most value out of our money than disney. Especially since we are DVC members. How do i manipulate without getting put in the doghouse. :eeyore:

take her on a DCL cruise!!! great food, broadway style shows, beaches and a fantastic kids program for all ages. and you can get her a day or more in the spa. that should put her in the mood. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Guys, I'll probably be off the boards for a little while here. (Barry, stop cheering)

We're heading out tomorrow for our Southern Swing road trip. Not sure what my internet access will be like. In any case, have a great week and when I get back I'll look forward to:

  • The exciting conclusions of Barry, Tim and Nick's TR's
  • The stunning final design of our Club t-shirt
  • Hopefully, an excellent fall discount so I can book my September trip to WDW
  • More excellent movie quotes in our TR hijackings
  • Picking up exactly where I left off in Don and Steve's TR's

I'll see if I can post some updates to Facebook while I'm gone if any of you are bored enough to want to know what's going on, and I'll have some pictures on FB when I get back. See ya! :cool2:

Have an awesome time away! Enjoy it, relax, refresh and have fun with your family. :)

I don't know if you guys saw this yet or not, but WESH in Orlando is reporting that a 10 year-old boy was struck and killed by a Disney bus in front of Ft Wilderness this afternoon. It was a very short blurb on their website but it mentioned that the driver was charged with careless driving and was placed on leave. I noticed it when I was looking around on cnn's site. Absolutely horrible. Everybody go home and hug your kids.

hope everyone has fun on there trips this weekend!!! it may be dis dads iv by the next time you get on.:thumbsup2

hearts and prayers go out to the young man and his family.:sad1:

Since I was totally unfamiliar with Zazzle.com a few days ago, I figured I’d better look into how we can share our T-shirt design with our membership, as we seem to have quite a bit of interest in the current design(s).

This is what I have found out:

The design we choose can be stored as a Template on Zazzle, meaning it can be accessed, customized by our members and used for a wide variety of products ~ T-shirts, hats, bumper stickers, ‘fridge magnets, aprons, etc. The prices seem pretty good for all of these things. That’s the good news!

Now for the slightly less than good news:

In order to make a design/template, like a T-shirt, available to the public (our members), it must follow these Zazzle guidelines.

1) It has to be listed as a product in a Zazzle “personal store”;

2) In order to sell something in a personal store, it has to have a minimum 10% Royalty Fee attached.

Since I am not out to make a profit off the DIS Dads, I don’t know how to go about sharing the design with our membership without the Royalty Fee attached. I believe we have two choices for having a standardized Disney-themed logo via Zazzle.com, if that’s what we want:

1) I can set the template and shirt design up in a “personal store” and make them available to our members with the minimum required 10% Royalty Fee. That would add about an extra $1.69 or so to each non-discounted, basic white T-shirt purchased. The fee does take discounts into consideration, so with the current 10% shirt discount, the fee would actually be around $1.52 or so per basic white T-shirt. If we do that, I would be open to suggestions for what can be done with any “profit” I make from the Royalty Fees. I don’t expect this to be much but I really am not out to make any profit from our group. The 10% fee would also apply to any other items with the logo that might be in my store: hats, bumper stickers, kids shirts, etc. I enjoy designing the stuff, I just don’t want to make a profit off my DIS Dads friends for doing it.

2) I can make the details of the approved logo available to anyone who wishes to create their own shirt on the Zazzle site, thus saving the Royalty Fee. That would mean giving our members the Font information and the Goofy image information. To have a “standardized” logo, each member would then have to go to the design section of the site and use that info to duplicate the design Nate and I came up with. Such items do not have to go into a store since they are just being made for personal use. They can be purchased outright and saved on the site for future use. I don’t know how many members would want to spend time doing this as it is a little tedious and requires some familiarity with the design section of Zazzle. It isn’t difficult, though, once you get the hang of it.

Keep in mind, if we go with a standardized logo in a personal store, it can still be set up so the logo can be modified by each individual member. Fonts (type, color, sizes), wording and slogans can be changed to suit each person. I haven’t found a way yet to change the Goofy image without starting the design process over from scratch, but there may be a way to do that, too. Images can also be resized. A template can also be set up so only certain parts can be modified, such as the member name and membership number, leaving everything else the same.

The current design uses a basic, white T-shirt printed on one side (for cost purposes); Goofy’s image, since that was requested by various members; lime green for the lettering (the DIS’s official color); a font (AdLib) suggested by Nate; and www.disboards.com to help advertise our club. Nate also likes the slogan “Will work for Dole Whip”, as opposed to “Man Laws and Cheese Balls”, so the slogan would definitely be something each member could modify. A template with each slogan could probably be set up in the store to make that easy. Other styles of shirt and different shirt colors can also be used, if anyone would like to pay extra for those (Zazzle costs). That includes shirts with printing on both sides, as well.

I would appreciate some feedback on this. Thanks!
