DON'T CRY OR WE'LL RIDE DINOSAUR AGAIN! A Spring Break TR---Final Thoughts 5/5

We went straight to Fantasy Land and it was a madhouse! The line for Small World was weaving all around even outside the street! We managed to see Mickey’s Philharmagic, and ride IASW, Peter Pan, and Pooh.

Here are the kids in line for Peter Pan-

After a looonnggg line, ready to ride IASW-

We caught the Haunted Mansion at a good time; wait time was about 10 minutes.

We went over to Adventure Land to ride Pirates, but it was broken! I’ve never seen this ride shut down in my nine trips. So we headed over to the Jungle Boat Cruise.

Now, I’m not a fan of this ride, but it was pretty crowded, and I thought Meg might like it. The stand-by time posted was 30 minutes, so we decided to jump in line. OH MY GOODNESS! The line went on forever and forever and forever! At one point, my sister commented that we’d been in line since yesterday, and the lady beside us, said, “Really?” Then the lady said, “Well, maybe it will be worth it.” :sad2: We didn’t have the heart to tell her that “NO, IT WON”T BE!”

It was time to grab some dinner at Cosmic Rays---the first of too many burgers and fries.

Then we headed out to watch “Wishes.” :goodvibes

I have to admit that it’s almost easier to get pictures of “Wishes” with my point-and-shoot, than with this DSLR. Kevin could probably do better than me, since he was a photo. Major in college---He knows all about that aperture stuff. :confused3 It’s all Greek to me, so I have to shoot on auto mode most of the time.

Magic Kingdom had been scheduled to close at 11, with a Spectro at 9 and 11, but it was announced that it would be staying open an additional hour. We grabbed a bench right in front of Liberty Tavern, to watch the 11 o’clock Spectro parade. I tried not to take so many pictures of Spectro, because I have must have hundreds from previous trips.

After the parade ended, we decided to head back to the resort.

We needed to get showers, unpack and get to sleep…….Well, we hoped to get to sleep, but somebody in our group had different ideas…………..

Joining in & Subbing:-)
Can't wait to read more!

Hi Sara! :wave2: I think I've seen you around on other PTRs I'm subscribed to. I popped over to your current one and remember that I've read parts of it---not sure if I ever commented though.

I have a 13, almost 14 year old daughter too, who like you, has been to DisneyWorld nine times! :)

Glad you're here. :thumbsup2 I know you must be getting excited for your trip. It's getting very close!

Great start to your trip IASW, Peter Pan, Pooh, Jungle Boat, Mickey's Philharmagic, and Jungle Boat Cruise all in one afternoon. Then wishes and light parade that night with great pictures. You got a lot accomplished for an afternoon arrival.

That's so cool that your daughter and I are almost the same age and have been the same number of times!

I am very excited for my next trip:-)

Looking forward to more of your TR

Ok the Red Lobster for breakfast is just disgusting! :rolleyes2

I love that y'all hit the ground running straight to MK. I guess those were maybe Spring Break lines at IASW? I can't believe POTC was closed either. I hope you got to go later in the trip.

Hmmm... I wonder who has other plans?

OH NO YOU DIDN'T :scared1:. Not a cliff hanger :lmao:. I'm loving the report so far and your pictures are great. I hope I can get some that good when we are there. If you shot those in auto mode then that is the setting I'm going to use :thumbsup2.

All caught up and loving it! Can't wait to see who your night owl was! We sure had some crowds when we were there, can't wait to see if the parks stayed that way for you or left with us...

First of all, your pics are awesome, even if it was done in auto mode.

Second, it sounds like such a wonderful day. I remember getting that text last year. I get all excited knowing that my room is ready. I'm hoping to get the boys on the Haunted Mansion this year. They get freaked out by the title. I keep telling them that Mickey makes everything fun and safe, but they haven't gone for it yet.

So, who is the mystery guest causing the problems?

All caught up now! Great first update. I can't wait to see what kind of drama keeps you up late that first night! ;)

Well, we tried, in spite of how crowded it was then. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Sara! That is pretty cool, isn't it? :)

Disgusting is a good adjective, and the smell was just plain nasty!

I guess they were just spring break lines for IASW, and I couldn't believe that I was standing in that line to ride it! ;)

I can tell you that it was not me wanting to stay awake...........:rolleyes1

Thanks, Dana! Yes, they were in auto mode---I did use the sport/auto mode during the safari on another day.

All-in-all, I enjoyed using the camera. It's a learning game, something you probably know about. :)

Yay you started and with an update too! I'm impressed!
Thanks, but don't be too impressed! I had a Saturday morning all alone. Kevin and Rachel left this morning to go visit his mom. Elizabeth had spent the night with a friend and Reid had gone to spend the night with his mom.

Oh, I think the crowds stayed around. For some strange reason, Wednesday was the most calm day we had.:confused3

Thanks, Megan!

It was a good day---That first day is always exciting isn't it?

That's funny about your boys and HM---When Reid went for the first time during our '08 trip, all he could talk about was the HM. He wanted to ride it first thing. We got to MK, got on the ride, and he was scared to death! Later during the week, we rode it again, and this time, he talked himself through it!

Well the mystery guest was not the oldest of the bunch..........:rolleyes1

Enjoying your report & joining in! popcorn::

Oh and those Wishes pictures are still pretty good if ya ask me! :thumbsup2

That's crazy about the line at IASW! My family always makes jokes about some of the "lesser" rides and how you know it's crowded when even those rides (like IASW, TTA) have long waits.
