Wow - renovated BWV 1 bedroom

I have to make this brief because I am simply exhausted. Stayed up late last night packing and worked all day, then had a hellish trip, capped off with a missing suitcase...we had to check all our carry-ons because halfway thru boarding they completely ran out of overhead space. Well, at least the missing bag (with ALL my kids clothes) was located back in ATL where we connected from Chicago, but they won't have it here til sometime tomorrow morning. We have 11:45 reservations for Le Cellier and I'm just hoping we'll have something for the kids to change into. They have Delta Skyteam t-shirts for pajamas!

Anyway, we didn't check in until 2AM - I did online check in, but was really nervous we'd end up with a horrible room (especially after the day we've had so far.) Well let me just say, WOW. This 1 bedroom unit just feels HUGE and the renovations are absolutely lovely. I stayed in a lackluster studio last fall that was not renovated and it was just dismal. I'm just in awe at the 1 bedroom and the spaciousness, and all I can say is, add me to the list of people who will never stay in a studio again (unless it's a solo trip.) It's just me and my 2 kids, so we could get away with a studio....but I love this. Can't get over the huge bathroom - it's almost like having 2 full baths (just a toilet short - lol.) What a nice surprise after an otherwise awful day. I am really loving my DVC right now :love::love:

Sorry to hear about the luggage issue, (hoping it arrives for you soon), but I am so glad to hear that you are loving your villa :thumbsup2 I hope you and your kids have a great stay and beautiful weather ;)

The last time I booked a studio, DH bought me more points and told me no studios ever again.

I can't wait to see pictures of the room.

Hey, I'm here too. About to leave at about 9.30ish to go shopping. My kids are boys aged 11 and 8. If you'd like to borrow some clothes, give me a call, I'm in room 4119, my name is Bev (NARM is a combination of my kids names).

I took some pics on my Blackberry last night before we started strewing our stuff all about and I will try to post them a little later. Bev, that was so sweet of you to offer to let us borrow clothes - and what a small world - we are in 4127. I'm still a little tired but I think that means you are just down the hall from us. Delta said the bag would arrive at MCO at 8:30 and then they would send it right here. So we are hoping it arrives any minute - but I'll let you know if it doesn't show up (my son is 11 - a little on the husky side : )

So sorry to hear of your luggage problem. Hope by now your luggage has arrived and that you have a wonderful rest of your vacation. Looking forward to seeing pictures of the renovated room as BWVs is one of "homes".:)

We stayed in a studio in January that looked VERY tired. We were disappointed as it was our first trip home together and we wanted it to look perfect. We are looking forward to the refurbed rooms this June. I am so happy that this part of your day went better than expected! I hope your luggage arrives on time and you can finally feel settled. Enjoy that vacation!

Oh and Bev - what a very sweet thing to offer! I just love how kind others can be. :flower3:

:rotfl2: EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!

We are heading back to the BWV in June, last year we did not have a reburbished room. Are they done with them yet?

Hi! From what I have read here,Yes they are complete. We were lucky as we were in the refurbished rooms last year and they look great. IMHO:thumbsup2:cool1::cool1::cool1:

The last time I booked a studio, DH bought me more points and told me no studios ever again.

I hope this happens to me ;)

I can't wait to see these pics. OP- I hope your trip is magical from now on!!!

We are a family who stayed in a studio our first DVC stay, moved on to a one bedroom the next trip and have never gone back to a studio again. My husband (as well as myself) would not want to stay in a studio again.

HEY...I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS BEFORE.....but I want to get some more points, DH says not right now. I'm planning our next trip.....I think all they'll have available is a studio. :rolleyes1 One more stay in a studio and he'll be buying points before we leave. Thanks mom2rb for the great idea!!!

Yes, love the 1 bedrooms! On my last trip we stayed in a renovated BW view studio, and it was nicer than I expected. I didn't think I could do it, but it was worth it for the points savings.

Sorry your trip started off badly -- hopefully it will continue to improve! :thumbsup2

Update - I got frustrated and called Delta because my daughter started crying that she was at Disney World and couldn't go anywhere. They were of no help. :furious: So I went to the store down on the Boardwalk and got the kids bathing suits and a few other things. Cancelled our 11:40 Le Cellier ADR and ordered breakfast room service. This was supposed to be an Epcot day. But it was all for the best. It was a perfect pool day. And when we got back to the room there was a message that the suitcase was down at bell services. Headed to Wolfgang Puck Cafe for dinner followed by La Nouba. Dinner was good; not great, but La Nouba was excellent. And we got our discounted tickets thru DVC :)

I would love to post pics but I don't have my cord which means I would have to email each of them to myself from my phone, then upload them to Photobucket. I'll try to do this in my downtime and post them eventually.

Our little luggage mishap made me realize that I am now starting to enjoy the resorts more than the theme parks. I could totally enjoy a trip sans the parks now. And I have to admit, the theming of the Boardwalk never really appealed to me "on paper" but now that I have stayed here twice it has really grown on me. I just love the spacious rooms and the location is just awesome. So things might have not started off quite right but all is well now. All in all, we really enjoyed the day - thanks for all the good wishes.

Tomorrow is Epcot day (take 2) so I better call it a night. :wave2:

Gosh, just when you think it's going to be okay, still no luggage. Shouldn't Delta provide you with the necessities for the kids, like at least a change of clothing? Save your receipts and check your ticket and the Delta Website. Hope it all goes better from now on.

I remember one time when we were doing a split stay and we were at the Polynesian, a family was in the resort store purchasing clothes.... there luggage had been delayed and they were to each buy an outfit and necessities per the airline. Definitely something to check into.

I am so glad you recovered your luggage! Can't wait to see some pics of your room and the view - is your room overlooking the Luna Park pool?

Bev...this was absolutely a wonderful offer from you. I love reading posts like this. Shows that "the magic" of WDW doesn't always come from the CM's. :thumbsup2

This 1 bedroom unit just feels HUGE and the renovations are absolutely lovely.

Having a Richyams moment here (you long time DISers will know what I mean). Inspired by his memory, I'd just have to say that if you think that little 1BR is huge, you will positively need a GPS to navigate around an OKW 1BR!! :lmao:
