Add-On Discounts on DCL

This past December DBF and I were aboard the Disney Wonder when we stopped by the DVC desk on board and the cast member gave us some AMAZING discounts on points, I'm talking way more than 50% off. We didn't add-on because we weren't really sure if we could afford it at the time, but we've figured it out now and it's very do-able for us at those prices.

My question is do they always have those December specials onboard the ships? And if they do, are they usually that good? For example, 2,000 points was going for $26,000 rather than over $200,000. We would be planning a cruise for December if they do and we would add on at that time.

Forgive me, but I think the numbers, as posted, are not accurate. While DVC sales reps do offer great deals through DCL, they are still likely to be closer to $8-$15 discounts from the current retail pricing. A "great deal" on 200 DVC points from last December may be offered as low as $16k ... but not 2000 DVC points for $26k.

Well I'm looking at the sheets right now and I assure you these numbers are not fictious. It was only something in the month of December on the cruise only. Not on land. I wouldn't be making up numbers I am reading off of papers I was given BY DVC.

$13 per point? Sorry that is not possible. That could be the amount of the incentive being offered--$13 per point discount off of the normal rate of $112-120 each. But does not offer discounts of that magnitude.

Yeah, so would the rest of the world! ;)

I couldnt afford the 8 grand a year in MF's though! I think that maybe its the discount on 2000 points of $26,000.

I hate to be blunt, but your figures are wrong.
