We are halfway through our stay at THV and I have to say, this place has not only exceeded, but blown away our expectations. These have to be the best laid out villas of any DVC. Due to that, plus the super high ceilings, the villas feel huge, even if square footage wise they aren't any bigger than a regular two bedroom. I will post more about how much we really like our THV as we go (it is almost 1 in the morning, so I've got to get a bit of sleep), but I really can't get over how impressed we all are with it. They really, really did a good job with these. Also, they have the coolest bathroom fixtures (for those of you that have stayed here, you know what I am talking about...)

Our only concern would be that one really ought to have a car if you stay here because the 2 bus thing is a bit of a pain. However, since we have a car, we've just driven to everything we've done...

More to come...

My sentiments exactly. We LOVED them. It's our new favorite place. I'm so glad you are having a great time there.:goodvibes

We can't wait to try one. That will be in November for us!

We took a pontoon boat up the river a few days ago and really got a good look at the THV's.. we can't wait to stay in them! It looked soooooo peaceful. The 2 bus thing would be a bit of a pain, but I think I'd sacrifice it for the tranquility.

Can't wait to stay here either. We stayed in the Campground Cabins once and had to use two buses also. Wasn't too bad. After all you are at WDW. :)

Not sure when we're staying there, but as SSR is our home resort it's just a matter of time. Looking foward to it. :earsboy:

Oh I so want to go back! Enjoy your stay!!! We were in a treehouse for 3 nights in January and absolutely loved it. And yeah, those bathroom faucets are awesome.

Our family loved them too! Even without a car. We were right near the bus stop and never waited long at either stop.

Buses aren't too bad, but we have been confused as to when we go to the Springs, and when we go to the Grandstand. However, mostly, we've just driven and it hasn't been too bad.

Still love the Treehouses. It's really nice to have your own space and not have to worry about bothering your neighbor. We've got 3 kiddos between our family and the one staying with us and we don't have to worry about them making noise or bothering anyone. Parking hasn't been an issue and it's real easy in and out of here. We are a bit far from the pool as we are at the North bus stop, but we could take the internal bus down there if need be...

One note. Had a real interesting experience at dinner tonight. Decided to try a new place for dinner on the DDP, so we tryed the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. 2.5 hours later, we finally got out of there. Needless to say it was one adventure after another, but let's just leave it at, if you go, don't get the Crabcakes. Don't think that we'll leave this one on the Rota...

On a positive note, had lunch at Columbia Harbour House. We had never eaten there and decided to give it a try. Had the Fried Shrimp and it was really good...

2 more days to go...

We love SSR and have walked over to the Tree Houses twice while staying. They seem so relaxing, glad to hear they are as enjoyable as they look.

In case anyone is wondering, there is a walking path at the far end of the Grandstand section of SSR. It goes behind the Villas, between the 17th green of LBV and the 18th tee.

Great walk if you like walking around!

We stayed in the Tree Houses back in early '80s a couple of times. At that time it was "The Best Kept Secret" at WDW.

Something we had then and is no longer available would be the beautiful free roaming PEACOCKS. Wake up in the AM, look outside and right there on the deck in full fanning calling others. Amazing.

Glad everybody is enjoying the new Tree Houses.

We loved the treehouse when we were there in Nov. So relaxing in the morning for coffee and in the evening for adult beverages on the pouch. Never had bus issues. We would walk to the Grandstand bus stop sometimes. Can't wait to go back. Just a note, we have 3 grandchildren, 2 and under and will wait until they are not in carriages anymore before we take them to THV. I think the 2 bus transfer would be kinda of a pain with carriages. Can't wait till they are all big enough.

tidefan, thanks for posting. We absolutely love THV, too. So beautiful, relaxing and spacious.

The THV shuttle bus goes only to the Springs first thing in the morning. At 11:00 am, it adds the Grandstand stop. THV>Springs>Grandstand>THV, etc.. Although we had a car and always drove to the parks, I think walking to the Grandstand might make sense in the am.

We did have the occasion to take the bus back to THV in the afternoon when we split up a few times after lunch. The park buses stop first at Grandstand so we just got off there. A THV bus always came along in short order. Next stop...THV.

Enjoy the rest of your stay. I'll be reading your report. :surfweb:

That sounds wonderful. I'd like to try the treehouses sometime when we are with family.

Back in the mid-1980s, I mentioned that I wanted to go to WDW and stay in a tree house. My Dad just shook his head. Maybe, I'll finally get my chance.

I'm dying to see one of these up close and in person. Everything I've read has been fabulous.

Any DISers interested in giving me and the fam a brief open house tour? I'm down in the world June 11-16 and Nov. 27-Dec 4 this year.

Ahhh, that makes sense. We didn't know that the first time they dropped us at the Grandstand and we kept telling the driver that we needed to go to the Springs...

Keep all this talk up and they won't be a secret anymore. So everybody, be quiet!!!

Start talking about how bad they are even if you have to make stuff up. We don't want the THV's to be overrun with people wanting to stay there.
