Ten Sleeps in Disney World!! - An Aug Trip Report *5/9 Departure Day & Final Thoughts

Cute picture of the boys by AIE!

Glad you enjoyed the Sci Fi. It is one of our favorite restaurants. My parents get a kick out of those cheesy sci-fi movies. Can't wait to eat there again in April!

No, not the end! :sad2:

Whoops... hey Sarah! I knew you'd like the AIE picture. Those movies are so bad they're hilarious! :lmao:

I don't want to end either.... but I'm excited to start a new one!!!

Loved your day at dhs looks like you made it a great one! I've never done One Mans Dream it will be a must do this year. we go in Oct. and I just booked our room at Pop so it makes it feel more real that we are going back:goodvibes

Was that store the writers stop? I've never seen it but I'll look for it next time it looks fun.

That was very sweet of George to go start packing up while you got to spend more time at dhs.

Arianna's face definitely sums it up. Its so sad to leave the parks on your last night. We spent our last night at AK and walked VERY SLOWLY out to the car at the end of the night we were going straight home from the parking lot. As soon as we got to the car dh6 started crying really bad and screaming "I don't want to go home" which made me cry "I don't either"

Can't wait to hear your final thoughts and to hear about your next trip!

Ah, you're caught up then. LOVED Dr. Linus. I don't read spoilers, just analyze the heck out of each episode after the fact. I don't even like watching the commercial previews! I'm with you, I want to be surprised and shocked as the events happen on my screen. :scared1:

See I thought that the US and UK were up to date. DF thought that you were one episode ahead of us. When does your eps air? Ours is every Friday.

Me and DF do sit there trying to work certain parts out, but most of the time its just too much and we just sit back and let the mystery unfold.

What did you think of Season 5? DF hated it what with the time travel and all. I must admit if you are gonna do time travel you should defo know what you are doing, otherwise you just confuse the heck out of people. Ooh also, how long before you realised (in Season 6) that all of them were now in the same timeline/era?

The picture of your kids says it all........it's the last official day in the parks.:guilty: I always hate that feeling you get when you know that it's almost over.

I'll come back and comment later, but I just wanted to mention before we head out......

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I'm half Irish :shamrock: so this day has always been a great day to just have some fun! :drinking1

Also, on a Disney related note.... while Alex is off to hockey practice tonite, Ariana, Demetri and I are off to see Disney on Ice - Princess princess: Classics! I'm taking my camera so I'll try to get some half decent pictures, perhaps even a video! See ya for now.... have a great night everyone!

Hope you had a great evening, looking forward to hearing about it :)

What a fantastic day at DHS...:thumbsup2

It feels like u did every attraction at the park.

There's still so much we have yet to see! Love it! :cool1:

There's definately a lot to see in One Man's Dream..:thumbsup2 You're booked! :cheer2: October is a great time to go! Are you going to see MNSSHP ?

Was that store the writers stop? I've never seen it but I'll look for it next time it looks fun.

I'm pretty sure that's what it was.... as soon as ZeroToHero mentioned it, it sounded right!

That was very sweet of George to go start packing up while you got to spend more time at dhs.

It made a big difference too in the time we needed... of course I had to re-pack a few things.... only a few.

Oh no! That would definately set me off too.

See I thought that the US and UK were up to date. DF thought that you were one episode ahead of us. When does your eps air? Ours is every Friday.

We're Tuesdays.

Me and DF do sit there trying to work certain parts out, but most of the time its just too much and we just sit back and let the mystery unfold.

I loved the time travel actually. ::yes:: With this show, I took the philosophy early on that if you can just "go with it" and not try and compare it (that's not the right word but I can't think of how else to describe it right now) to real life, it's just a darn good and well written show. :worship:

The picture of your kids says it all........it's the last official day in the parks.:guilty: I always hate that feeling you get when you know that it's almost over.

Me too. :sad1:

How was Disney on Ice?!

Looking forward to seeing your Disney on Ice pictures!

Can't wait to hear how Disney on Ice was!!popcorn::

Well, since you asked….. ;)

This was absolutely the perfect show for us to see. Demetri had been so excited but had grown nervous in the days leading up to the big night because a classmate of his told him she was going to the show as well and that it was “only for girls”. :snooty: I assured him that there were lots of boys in the show and that he was going to have a lot of fun. We had great seats in the price range I was comfortable paying (although those “ring side” seats looked pretty darn good!) Ariana, it goes without saying, was in heaven the entire performance. Let me list the ways: she loves Disney, she loves dancing, she loves figure skating, she loves lifts, she loves Princesses…. Roll all that into one neat show and she had most definitely found her Happy Place. :goodvibes:

(Quick little rant -- We gave ourselves plenty of time to get to the arena and see all the displays and things that were for sale  and get settled into our seats before the scheduled showtime. There were several announcements letting everyone know there was “five minutes”… “three minutes”… etc before the show was to start, and they started exactly on time. Why is it then, that we missed the first seven minutes of the show blocked by people walking up to their seats after the performance had started, to find there were people already sitting in them? A cast member with a flashlight needed to come over and help sort out which party of people were in the wrong section… an innocent mistake but unfortunately a large section of people couldn’t see anything happening on the ice until it was resolved. :headache: …. OK, rant over.)

The performance was divided into two acts with a brief intermission between the two. Mickey, Minnie and Tinkerbell introduced each act.

The story of each Princess was told one at a time, up to the moment where conflict, strife or danger stepped in. It was so well done….. the narration and the character voices, with the occasional tweak here or there, were straight out of the movies.

Jasmine and Aladdin…

2010_0317pics0016.jpg

I was kinda disappointed Maleficent was only in it for such a brief period of time….

2010_0317pics0017.jpg

Next was the illusion of being “Under the Sea” with a very cool glowing set and costumes. There was a castle setting in each scene and the façade kept changing to the story being told.

I was really impressed with Ariel’s story…. The skating had the motions of underwater swimming, arms moving like a mermaid, that sort of thing. It’s hard to describe but I thought it was a nice detail.

Hmmmm, I seem to have a lot of Ariel’s story.

Mushu!

2010_0317pics0043.jpg

Not as many pictures of Mulan and Shang…. I must have been distracted because they did two of my favorite Disney songs… Reflection and I’ll Make a Man Out of You. (I always thought this was called Dark Side of the Moon ) I like the movie versions of these songs, not the ones where stars have recorded them.

The next tale that was told, I quickly switched to video on my camera. Heigh ho!

Then wouldn’t you know it, when Snow White was still on my camera’s memory card was full. So I missed a bit of picture taking whilst deleting blurry pictures to free up some space, but I got a few more in.

2010_0317pics0046.jpg

2010_0317pics0047.jpg

Demetri was having a jolly time at this point, yelling at Snow White (along with a few hundred others), “DON’T BITE THE APPLE! NOOO! DON’T BITE THE APPLE!” But alas, she didn’t listen and was overcome by the Sleeping Death.

2010_0317pics0048.jpg

2010_0317pics0049.jpg

Next was Beauty and the Beast…

2010_0317pics0051.jpg

And this story is what paid the price for me having to delete more blurry pictures - this was the only picture I got.

There was a gathering while Snow White was kissed awake…

2010_0317pics0052.jpg

Which sparked a highlight of the show… all of the characters dancing together.

2010_0317pics0053.jpg

Worthy of another video!

There was a brief intermission which thankfully left me just enough time to get all the blurry and “extra” shots off my camera to free up more space. It was only half over!

(And this allows me to post the second half in the next update! Off to hockey! Be back soon!)

Act II was devoted to the telling of one single story – Cinderella.

The Stepsisters were a hoot!

Demetri turned to me after this scene with a furrowed brow, “They’re MEAN!”

2010_0317pics0063.jpg

But guess who arrives to save the day?

2010_0317pics0066.jpg

This shot is a bit blurred but I loved how the horses were portrayed.

Once midnight struck and Cinderella lost her glass slipper, these scenes were quite cute. They were approaching people in the ring side seats and attempting to fit the slipper on their feet.

Nope!

2010_0317pics0073.jpg

Nor you either, Drizella.

2010_0317pics0074.jpg

But it did fit Cinderella and the celebration began!

2010_0317pics0075.jpg

Each couple was now in their Sunday best and emerged from the castle one by one. (I missed Ariel and Eric.)

And lastly the picture that is currently my Desktop Wallpaper….

2010_0317pics0094.jpg

I LOVED this show. A LOT. More importantly, Ariana and Demetri had a wonderful, wonderful time. I can’t wait for more versions to come our way!

Hope you enjoyed the review!

WHY DID I NOT GO TO THAT?!? Sooo cool!

I love the horses, the stepsisters, and that picture of Ariel getting swung around is really cool!

Oh, and :lmao: about Dark Side of the Moon. Are you a Pink Floyd fan?

And then we were finally at the end of our last day of our trip, at the last park of the trip and the last picture of the night.

2009_0824pics0163.jpg

That about sums it up, don’t you think?

Awww. We all know the feeling! :sad1:

Its so much easier to come to the end of a report when you've got a pre-trippie simmering on the back burner, though!

So glad you all had such fun at Disney on Ice! You took so many pictures that I felt like I saw the show, too!

It is a v well written show, JJ did good :thumbsup2 You ever watched Alias (another JJ Abrams show)?

How fun does that show look, thanx for sharing with us :goodvibes

It looks like so much fun and a telling of each of the Princesses Stories, whats not to love :goodvibes

Disney on Ice Princess Wishes has finished over here, but they still have a few shows in Ireland. We do, however, have a live theatre show still showing, looks pretty cool :)

Thanks for sharing all your pictures from Disney on Ice!!:goodvibes It looked like an amazing show!! It will definitely be something I will be looking into!:thumbsup2
