Dessert Party at Wishes

Does anyone know if they are still doing this? It would be a great final night treat. TIA!

As of yesterdays call to DVC Member Services - they are not taking reservations for this at this time. It does not look like its coming back. I had the same thought - it would have been great for the last night of my trip.

Yesterday when I called they said to check back in about 2 weeks- they're expecting this to be loaded into their system soon.

I was wondering if anybody has done this on a night when they have Spectro? Can you see Spectro from there (I'm thinking it's too far back from Main St) or would it be best to see Spectro from Main St at 9 and then walk over to the dessert party for Wishes?

You can see some of the floats from the Dessert Party but if you really want to see it you should go down to Main Street.

We did the party on a Spectro night, and I would not do that again.
You can see the parade floats from a distance, but not too well.
I would compare it to how you can see Wishes from the Poly. It's a fun, relaxing way to watch it, but you don't get to experience it fully that way.

We tried what pp suggested- watching from Main street, then walking over to dessert after. It was too stressful- never again!

You have to have you whole party check in early. Then you are given a wristband to get in later. So you have to find a space for your whole party on M.S. at 8:45 or so. Then run back to dessert as soon as the parade is over (actually before so you don't get caught). We were told by the cm's that even though our seating time was 9:05, that dessert might all be gone by 9:15:confused3 , so we rushed to get back quickly.

If they bring it back, I would go on a non-parade night, then you get your dessert earlier too! We would then go back to enjoy the night parade on a different night.

I'm hoping they bring it back! I want to do this during our vacation to celebrate my 10 year anniversary with DH...

I'll be checking back here frequently for more info...

We went last year and DH and I thought it was just okay - kind of glad we did it once thing.

However our one dd put it at the top of her list of things to do at Disney on this trip so I'm waiting for it to open up!

I'm hoping when they open up that they change it so you can book tables next to the railing at a higher price. Mostly everyone had to stand by the railing to get a good view.

It was neat watching Tink fly directly overhead.

I have heard it's coming back to, jsut don't know when. It is something I would like to try someday too.

that they do this party now. This has been our "secret spot" for Wishes viewing for many years. We would grab a snack, plop down at a rail side table about an hour before Wishes, and just relax for awhile before the show. Now, if it continues as a party, it becomes very expensive, and sounds like a free-for-all to get to the paid for desserts before they run out!

I sure hope they bring it back before our May 26-June 4 trip because I would love to try it!!!

I honestly don't think they run out of desserts that fast, nor all of them. I have heard of some favorites running low, but also heard how they replenish alot of stuff.

They were very good about replenishing the desserts when we were there last July. There didn't seem to be any danger of them "running out" at all.

We were there in Dec. I 'm glad to have had the experience once, but IMO is just too expensive for what you get and probably won't do it again.

On the night we attended, all seating was pre-assigned - no need to have a mad dash to get group seats together. It was just DH and myself so we had a first row table about 15 feet from the railing. Once the show starts, attendees are encouraged to go to the railing for a better view. Which is great for them, but bad for us as we now had to stand as well.

2 huge tables were filled will many varieties of mouth-watering desserts and a beautiful platter of fresh fruit. It appeared to me that there was no replenishing, only condensing of plated items until only 1 table remained with the least sought-after desserts. I would have felt better about the cost if indeed the more popular items had been replenished, specifically the fresh fruit.

I hope Disney brings it back for those of you that would like to experience it.

I really don't get the not refilling the desserts thing. Its like paying for dinner at a buffet and they run out of food! You've paid for dessert so there should be dessert for everyone in attendance.

the reports that I have read have indicated that the dessert tables were not replenished. Even if they were, how much dessert can a person eat? The cost is too much, considering that we bought our desserts before we got there, and sat where we wanted to- for free. Plus, you could eat whatever you wanted-not just desserts. Once my DD had a turkey leg!

There wasn't a problem w/refilling the desserts when we went in August.

Plenty from which to choose the entire time.

When we did it last July there were PLENTY of desserts to eat and they kept it open through the fireworks and after. We did it again in November with my in-laws and desserts were slow to be refilled and closed once the fireworks started but we still had plenty. The bigger problem was running out of coffee; it took FOREVER and fireworks were almost over by the time we got it. It was definitely a must do at least once, DS and DD (and me!) loved seeing Tink fly overhead and the view was great. I would like to do it again with some friends who have never seen Wishes before but o/w once or twice is enough. We had no problem getting a good viewing spot, everyone went to the railing but everyone was great about letting the kids in front and even sitting behind you could see easily.

I would recommend eating a late-ish lunch to save room for dessert!
