Goofy Proposes, Fi Falls for Sleeping Beauty & we Celebrate our Engagement NEW 6/18!

It turns out I don't need inserts that's what actually caused all my running pain...but I do need new shoes. I'm trying to get the special ones that they mold to your feet so they are just right for you.

But inserts do help a lot. You could either get insert or go to one of those shoe places that will help you find the right shoe for you. Since your flat footed you need support on your arch. They will be able to suggest the right kind of shoes from sneakers to dress shoes. I don't know if they have a "Foot Solutions" around you but you might.

You know, I think there is one of those store near me...it sounds familiar at least. I'll have to look into that - maybe on my next trip my feet won't ache so badly! :goodvibes

Thank you for posting your 2.5 day pedometer update. I have been encouraging my DH to buy a comfy pair of "walking sandals" before our Easter trip, but he insists his broken in Sketchers will be OK. After telling him your mileage, he is reconsidering! (He better hurry so there's time to break them in!)

BTW - Great trip report!!! We are two without kids 20-/30-somethings who are going together and it's great to read a TR for people in the same situation!

Thank you! I'm so glad to have you reading along. :goodvibes I agree, there aren't many TR's with childless couples so it's nice when you find some. :thumbsup2

How exciting that my pedometer reading might actually help someone! :yay: I hope he will consider some walking shoes!

I've SO enjoyed reading your blog - it looks like you had a fabulous trip!

I wonder if you would mind telling me what the dates of your trip were?

DH and I are going next December (6-17) and I'm just wondering what weather and lines will be like - any advice?????
Thanks :)

Holy Cow...No wonder most of us feel we need another vacation after our vacation. I can't believe how many miles you guys walked. I can't wait to here how many miles you walked for the whole trip!! Great Trip Report!! I am really enjoying reading it so far!!

WOW!! Thirty two miles is alot! I know it is quite a hike around the WS, but I wouldn't have ever guessed!

Thank you! :goodvibes We did have a wonderful trip! Disney is fun no matter what but having something to celebrate makes it even more magical :cloud9:

We were there January 3-10 (during the longest cold snap that Florida had seen in 25 years!) Weather wise, I think winter time in Florida is pretty hit or miss. You can get temps in the 80's, or temps in the 40's it really just depends (although hopefully you wouldn't get any temps in the 20's and 30's like we did!)

I would think early December would be a wonderful time to go! I think crowd levels are supposed to be really good then and the weather should be nice as well! I would just pack clothes for hot weather and for cold weather just incase! :thumbsup2

Isn't it crazy how much walking you do in the world?! We were shocked at the number of miles!

Unfortunately, my pedometer fell and broke the following day (early on, too) so I didn't get a reading for the whole trip. :guilty: If I had to guess, though, I'd say we probably walked 90 miles! :scared1:

You really rack up the miles in Epcot, that's for sure! When I saw 18 miles in one day I was shocked!

DAY 4 – OUR not so FREE DAY – Pt. 1

I had originally planned this day as a free day for us. Towards the tail end of our last trip I was so exhausted from the parks that I deemed we must have an (impromptu) free day. So, being the planner that I am, this time I scheduled a free day.

Our goal was to sleep in a bit, since as I mentioned, we aren’t exactly morning people. But alas…even I couldn’t sleep late at Disney World! I woke up before 9 and piddled a bit before FI finally woke up as well. We leisurely got dressed and decided to walk around AKL and take some pictures while we decided what we wanted to do for the day.

Aren't these light fixtures just amazing?!

I LOVED the details in the Christmas tree! Of course I had to stop for more pictures!

FI really wanted to return to AK (even though I didn’t have another day scheduled for it) to ride Expedition Everest some more. Being that it was 11:00, I knew that lines for EE would already be long.

I had planned on DHS the following day, but since we aren’t huge DHS lovers we decided to head on over to the studios today and return to AK tomorrow. So off we were to DHS! (which to me will always be MGM, by the way)

First thing we did was grab fast passes for ToT for FI.

Since we had some time to kill and we were pretty hungry since we hadn’t had any breakfast, we decided to grab some lunch.

Since I’m the least familiar with DHS, I didn’t have a particular CS place in mind to eat. It seemed to me that the majority of the CS places were outside, and being that it was FREEZING we wanted indoor seating! So we made our way to… the dreaded ABC Commissary! :scared1:

Now I know that this place gets some bad reviews here, but we were actually pleasantly surprised. Definitely not the best counter service, but it wasn’t bad food either. Both FI and I had the chicken blue sandwich with fries. I chose the no sugar added strawberry parfait (which was surprisingly pretty tasty) for dessert and FI chose the chocolate mousse (which he deemed very good).

*sorry for the fact that you can't actually see the food. This was FI's doing*:lmao:

So with full bellies we ventured out to explore more of DHS…

NEXT UP: Will I be brave enough to try Rock N' Roller Coaster for the first time?

I with you, DHS will always be MGM to me. It just rolls off the tounge better. I just can't get over how cold it was in Flordia, but I have to remember that it was ZERO degrees with -20 wind chills in NW Arkansas.

We couldn't get over the temps either! It was so crazy how cold it was! I'm pretty sure on our second to last day it was sleeting while we were at Epcot! :scared1:

-20 wind chills?! Wow! Sounds miserable

you've never road RnRC?????? WHAT :scared1: (I hope you ride!)

Great pics of AKL. (and cute top!)

We ate at ABC for the first time this trip (for the opposite reason to get into the AC). It was ok. I had the chicken sandwich too. I found it to be fine.

DHS is always MGM to me too. I have to correct it every time in my TR

AKL is so beautiful. When it opened years ago my family went over to see it on a non-park day for us, but I was so sick I couldn't get out of bed, and I missed it! I have to see it.

I hope you tried rockin' rollercoaster!

I guess now wouldn't be a good time to mention I've never rode Splash Mtn. either, would it? :rolleyes1

I hate to be dropped! But I have decided I'm trying SM on our next trip. As for RnRC...popcorn::

All caught up again...can't wait to hear if you rode RNNRC!!!

We'll find out soon, I guess :rolleyes1

Great update! But, girl, I think you're going to have to edit your wedding vows to include "I vow to ride Splash Mountain." My DBF is the ultimate ride wimp. The scream that came out of his mouth when we went down the big hill was HYSTERICAL-- I laughed for a good half hour! :lmao:

WHAT you've never ridden Splash Mountain???!?!?!?!? That's DH and I'd ride. Now you have to do it! It's so much fun!!!!

Hi Courtney!! Sorry I've been MIA but I'm back and all caught up!! WOW--you walked a TON of miles in 3 days!! That must have been why I ate like a pig last May and never gained a pound!! :goodvibes You know, I actually like ABC Commissary!! We ate there last trip! Can't wait to hear more!!

 That is too funny! That would probably be me, screaming hysterically!

I am determined to ride SM next trip though - I wasn't able to this time since it was closed for a refurb (and it was freezin!)..yep, that's my story...:rolleyes1

That's right, I remember you saying that's where he proposed! :goodvibes

I'm definitely doing SM during our next trip - I think I can make it!

Hey Becky! I'm so glad to see you around :goodvibes

I was so shocked at the amount of walking we did, but you're right - it really allows us to eat all of that food without having to worry about gaining weight! :thumbsup2
