Booked thru travel agent?

I have booked thru a travel agent but I am not pleased with the service. How many of you have booked this way and have been dissatisfied? I am at the point I want to cancel with the agent and book it directly with Disney myself. When I decide to cancel with the agent how long will it take to get my money back so I can rebook with Disney?:sad1:

Booking through Disney is the best way to go. They have the best insurance, and any changes that need to be made can be done immediately, this includes any new offers that come out. Most travel agentxs take days to change your reservation and sometimes that time can make a difference in getting the resort/dates you want.

It usually takes several weeks to get money back. This year keep with the travel agent..next time use Disney
 


I would contact the agency directly and let them know you are not satisfied with the agent you are working with. I have worked with Small World Vacations for years and have been very satisfied. As with any company, even Disney directly, you get good and bad employees.

As an FYI the agency doesn't refund your money Disney does as the money is with them.

I think this is again depending on the travel agent. My TA always gets back to me the same day the discount is released. Sometimes even before I know there is one out there. I have always gotten the insurance and it is always the same one that Disney offers, booking directly or with a travel shouldn't matter as far as the insurance goes
 
Contact the management at SWV. They are a reputable agency with many good agents--you need one who works more hours and is easier to reach.
 


I use a specific AAA agent not even in my home state, but I'm very happy with her. Though I've contacted disney directly on some special needs specifics (I have a child with Cerebral Palsy, so our needs can be complex) - she makes my changes immediately, and sends me email confirmations. I would think though that you can contact your agency directly - ask to speak to the supervisor in charge, kindly explain your situation and if they can't fix it to your satisfaction - cancel. If they give you grief at that point, I would do the unthinkable and threaten to report them to Disney, but that would be a last resort.

Correct, my agent actually forwards me the exact disney confirmation email they send her. The insurance is a disney benefit/offering.

my agent with Dreams unlimited has been nothing short of phenomenal. She was even away on vacation a couple weeks back which I didn't know at the time and when I emailed her she still answered me right away.

Every other question, change, or issue I have had she usually answers within an hour.
