I know LOTS of us are patiently (or not) waiting to see if they are going to announce free dining this year for Aug-Sept. What I want to know is how many of you that are waiting for this are going to go whether they announce free dining or not. :confused3 How many of you HAVE to have free dining to go, and how many of you just think it would be nice?

We're going either way in late September. As a matter of fact, if offered free dining or a discounted room, we're taking the discount. We have some complimentary park hoppers that we plan to upgrade at the gate , so we're not eligible for free dining.

Still going in August for 10 days. Even if no free dining, then there will likely be some sort of discount (currently booked with a AAA discount). However, I'll probably cancel some dining ADR's because we'd likely opt out of the meal plan and go out of pocket instead...

I actually would rather have a 40% of deluxe offer than free dining. The family would rather go deluxe (who wouldn't) and I don't like the rigid schedule of the full dining plan. We went quick service last August with the 4/3 deal and the freedom to eat wherever and whenever was great. We'll have to see what's offered. In past years have they offered room only discounts in lieu of free dining?

We are still going the end of Aug. We booked with the 40% PIN. We considered going earlier in the summer or later in the fall to avoid the possible Free Dining crowds, but the end of August is the only time that fits our schedule. :)

The 40% pin was not a general offer correct?

I logged into the Disney site for the first time since last year's trip, updated my profile, and priced a few packages in hopes that this may trigger a pin code. I have gotten codes in the past, just none I could use. They keep sending me Adventures by Disney deals. I don't recall ever having expressed an interest in ABD. The whole pin code thing is maddening.

We are staying for 9 nights the end of April :woohoo: I had originally booked my vacation using my pin for 35% off all 9 nights but when the gift card offer came out, I modified my reservation so that I get the $500 gift card for the first 5 nights and still used the 35% off pin for the last four nights :yay: I now have two reservations and there is a slight chance I might have to change rooms but for an extra $152 I can live with that :rotfl2: There are only 2 of us so for us, the free dining will not save us anymore money and there are times we do not like to be locked into a full service meal ;) My daughter and I will be just as happy eating at Earl's for our dinner :woohoo: So with the gift card and the 35% off, I am saving just about $800 :cool1:

We won't be going without the free dining or an equivalent discount on a hotel/myw package. Thats the only way its affordable enough for us to go.

While having to stick to a schedule for TS's is a hassle we've been able to do quite well. We've been able to decide our plans for the day each morning and get to our TS on time in the evening as well as see the shows we wanted. We've also been able to alter our TS ADR's at the last minute when Fantasmic or other shows were rained out and wanted to free up time for another night.

We would still go.. the kids are too excited to not go. But it would be a letdown for sure.

I have been offered 40% and free dining at ssr or okw for this october.it works out at £100 approx per night for 3 adults and 1 child in a studio.we are staying for 14 nights and still have to pay another £810 for 14 day unlimited parkhopper-water parks and disneyquest.

Man, people in the UK get the best deals!! I know it's far for them to get here, but it takes me probably just as long in travel time to get there as it does them. It's hard for me to see deals like 40% off room plus free dining. jeez

I KNOW THIS IS THE ONE ONE REASON WE HAVE DECIDED TO GO BECAUSE THE FLIGHTS COME IN AROUND £2000 OR ELSE I WOULD HAVE GONE TO DISNEYLAND PARIS AGAIN AS I LOVE IT AND CAN GET FLIGHTS FOR WAIT FOR IT....£1!!YES ONE POUND FROM SCOTLAND TO PARIS IF YOU CAN GET THEM IN TIME.THE HOTELS ROOMS ARE ALL REALLY NICE AND THE FOOD PRETTY GOOD.ITS A FAB PLACE BUT DECIDED TO GO FOR THE BIGGIE THIS TIME.I TAKE IT THIS IS A DEAL I SHOULD GRAB INSTEAD OF SEARCHING FOR VILLAS AND CAR RENTAL?:rotfl2:

Well, I called to see if there were any pin codes associated with my name. Nothing. I ended up booking a Deluxe the dates I wanted and locking in sit down ADRs for each day. If I get a room only discount, I stay deluxe, cancel most of the sit down ADRs and pay oop for food. My preferred option. If it's only free dining, I will probably drop down to a Moderate and I have my ADRs. If there is no general public discount, who knows? However, with the economy the way it is discounts are almost certain. I could probably get a AAA rate at a Mod and pay oop for dining.

In the mean time, I ordered a planning DVD hoping that might trigger a pin code. Nothing left to do but wait and see what develops. popcorn::

I may have to jump over to universal if FD isnt offered.

There will be free dining. They just lifted the blackout dates for discounts over Easter. They are highly motivated to keep the crowds up.

in the past we've booked with room discounts b/c it was a better deal than free dining. This year my step daughter will be 11...so an "adult" in Disney's eyes. My SD will never eat enough food to cover the cost of her "adult" dining. She'll order off the kids menu regardless. She's a plain jane sort of eater. SO...free dining would be a better deal for us. She has the option to eat the adult foods...but won't. And it won't matter to us b/c we aren't paying for it. Aging out of the kids bracket at Disney has forced us to rethink how we'll do Disney in the future. So hopefully free dining will be offered. If not..I don't know what we'll do. We are definitely waiting to book to see what happens.

fingers crossed for Free Dining. I cant' imagine it won't be offered what with Harry Potter Land having it's debut season at Universal this year...just down the road a piece from Disney...hmmm...It looks kinda cool...:wizard:;)
