I will be making my ADRs in one month and need help! We will be on the basic DDP. I have everything planned except for one TS meal.

Here's some background. We are a family of 4: me, DH, DS14, and DS12. We are not interested in character meals. We enjoy American and Japanese; not crazy about Mexican and Italian; can't do strictly seafood restaurant due to some allergies.

Here's what I have planned:
Le Cellier (dinner)
Ohana (dinner)
Boma (breakfast)
Teppan Edo (dinner)
Yak & Yeti (dinner)

We need one more meal for dinner. It MUST be at a resort or DTD since we aren't doing a park that day. We are staying at AKV, but I'm worried that we are too picky for Sanaa. (We don't like Boma for dinner.) We will be doing Blizzard Beach that day and want a good TS meal for that evening. Can anyone suggest a good one?

We enjoy Cape May Cafe Clambake. There are other choices besides fish (usually chicken, some type of meat, salads, potatos, corn on the cob, etc.). Although we've not yet tried it, I've read great reviews of The Wave at the Contemporary. The only restaurant we have done at Downtown Disney is Fulton's and that is fish (although they do have a couple of non-fish items) but they are not on the dining plan.

I would avoid, from our personal experience, Boatwright's at the POR and Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL -- we had terrible service and terrible food there (DH got sick on the food at the WCC).

Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney. Lots of food choices, and is a fun restaurant for older kids.

I didn't know Planet Hollywood was on the DDP??

We love Kona, and want to try the Wave. The Grand Floridian Cafe has been getting good reviews lately too.

I don't think Planet Hollywood is on the dining plan:confused3

Raglan Road (DTD) is very good (Irish pub) if you're looking for something different than what you are doing other nights. They were on the DDP as of 2009.

You said they wouldn't like character meals, but have you thought about Hoop De Do?

Or a third option, close to DTD is the Artist's Palette at Saratoga Springs.

HTH!

How about Kona at the Poly? You can order from the menu, or from the Kona Sushi Bar menu if you prefer.

The Captains' Grill at the Yacht Club is a nice table service restaurant. Aftewards you can stroll around the Baordwalk area and then you can grab ice cream at Beaches & Cream before going back to AKL

We like Raglan Road. Love the bread pudding desert!

Based on the ages of your DSs how about the ESPN Club? DH & I usually eat there twice on our trips.Unless there is a big game on it usually isn't too long a wait to get a table. From what I remember the tables around the bar area are self seating(we usually eat at the bar) and we have seen pleanty of families in there. You can get there via the Broadwalk or BC resorts. It was on the DDP.
I know some people don't care for it but we have always gotten a good meal there.:cool1:

Another plus with the ESPN is that they don't take ADRS.(at least last year)That way you won't have to feel rushed to leave BB to get back to your hotel to get ready.;)

Kona Cafe or one I cannot wait to try Kouzzina (If you like greek) :thumbsup2
Exactly the two restaurants I was going to recommend. Besides 'Ohana, you probably named my two favorite places on property.

In reading lots of reviews of Kouzzina, it seems to appeal primarily to those who enjoy Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. Kona Cafe tends to work for even the pickiest eater, because the menu is relatively diverse by Disney standards.

Thanks for all the great ideas!

We are wanting to wait on WCC (even though we've eaten there before and like it) and The Wave until we stay at VWL and BLT.

I like the idea of Kona since we LOVE Ohana! I just wasn't sure I wanted to eat at Ohana two nights. There are so many other places out there! Kona would be good since we love that type of food and my kids LOVE sushi! This may be what we do.

I'm a little leary of Kouzzina since we are a little picky. I'm not sure about ESPN; my kids are not into sports (just fishing). I'll have to check out Captain's Grill; I know nothing about it.

After thinking about it, I don't know if I want to go back to DTD. We will be there earlier in the week. I think I'd rather try a resort restaurant just to be able to see the other resorts.

Thanks again for the great ideas! If there are any more, send them my way!!!

I know you said you didn't want to go back to DTD, but I have to recommend Wolfgang Puck Cafe. It's really good and on the DDP. We ate there twice last April, once in July and have ADRs there again for our upcoming trip.

Beaches & Cream might be another option, but that would be casual and they do not take ADRs.

ESPN Club & Captain's Grille are also good choices as has been mentioned.
