My family volunteered for JRA in January and got our vouchers so we are safe. I'm so glad we did so earlier rather than later. Although we had such a positive experience we will certainly volunteer with them again.

*********If you have already received your Disney ticket vouchers, this email is NOT for YOU!********

Dear Friends:

VITALLY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE GIVE A DAY, GET A DISNEY DAY PROGRAM

Today we learned that almost all of the 1 million Free tickets to Disney have been given away.

What does this mean for you and JRA?

If you are already scheduled for the March 14 or April 11 JRA distribution:

If you have received your “VOP Thanks for Signing Up to Volunteer” email from HandsOn Network/Disney (NOT from JRA), then you are SAFE.

If you have NOT received your “VOP Thanks for Signing Up to Volunteer” email from Handson Network/Disney (NOT from JRA), this means that you still need to complete your registration by using this link – link. Disney plans to shut down the registration system in the next day or two, so you need to complete your registration immediately. If the system shuts down before you complete your registration, THERE IS NOTHING JRA CAN DO. We are very sorry to share such unpleasant news, but we want to be sure that everyone who is scheduled to come to JRA on either March 14 or April 11 has the opportunity to receive their Disney tickets.

If you were planning to volunteer at JRA between May-November:

It is unlikely that you will be able to get a free Disney ticket. Disney has told us that they will be shutting down their system in the next day or two. As you may remember, the quantities of tickets were limited and were available on a first come, first served basis. We are very sorry to share such disappointing news. HOWEVER…

…THERE IS SOME HOPE…there may be limited volunteer opportunities available with some of the nation’s larger organizations. For more information, please go to www.disneyparks.com.

Many thanks,

Amy

WOW....that was fast. I'm sure there will be a lot of folks that are disappointed by this.

I work for an organization that is participating in the GAD program. We were sent an e-mail today to STOP accepting new volunteers.

Oh no.

I could see this as a big public relations nightmare for Disney. Eventhough they said there was a limit...

If this is the year of the volunteer...it's ending early!

Our trip isn't until October and I am so glad that we did ours early! We printed our vouchers this week. Phew!

Whew, we're signed up to do our GAD activity this Saturday. That was close.

I am not understanding this because if you registered already shouldn't that count towards the one million even if you're not able to do your volunteer for another week or two?

We did our volunteer this past weekend. And did get a "thanks for volunteering" email from Hands On Network.
How fast did people get their vouchers and is there anything else we need to do?
Thanks!

Disney better take the ads of the tv. I saw one this morning. I agree with the poster who said this will be a pr nightmare for them. It's on just March!! That's a pretty short year long promotion!

You can still do your volunteer work since you are already registered.

WOW!!! I am so glad we have our “VOP Thanks for Signing Up to Volunteer” email from HandsOn Network/Disney email--even though I don't have my vouchers yet!

I am wondering if by chance Disney will save face by doubling the offer of tickets or something like that. For sure, they will have to stop advertising the promotion if they won't increase the amount of tickets they plan on giving away.

We just rec'ved our vouchers today. I'm so glad we signed up early though we aren't going until Sept.

We just signed up today. I hope we are okay. :confused3 We got a confirmation email. anyone know if this means we will get our vouchers? Our volunteer day is March 27th for a literacy program. :goodvibes

The way I understand it is that if you have registered and are confirmed, then that is counted towards the 1 million. There is a pretty informative thread under Theme Parks.....

It looks like you are good :thumbsup2

We were scheduled for one oppertunity and got turned down a few days after getting confirmed. :confused3 The they asked us to work this summer, and we will be, but afraid this may happen we did a different oppertunity for the vouchers. Glad we did, we have had our vouchers for some time. I not only just saw the ad, but also an ad for a show with some of the Volunteers visiting Disney. I suspect hey will do something for the rest of the year.

I got this today:
"On March 3rd Disney announced that they are nearing the limit of 1 million free tickets. Therefore to secure a Disney ticket you must complete the
registration process ASAP."

We already did ours with a different organization, but I am surprised how fast they went!

1 million times each ticket's value is one heck of an investment from Diz. I am sure that not all will be actually used. Just like Gift Cards, many folks lose them or forget about them. Still even if only 850,000 of those get used it is quite a commitment by Diz. Any numbers ever come out about how many people got a free day on their Bday?

I just told a friend about GAD yesterday and she was so excited. I told her they were getting close to running out, so unless she took me seriously she will be out of luck.

I was pretty sure they would run out very early, so I did my volunteer work the first of February, and printed my vouchers on the 4th.

I would have never thought they would go that quickly if I didn't come on the Dis.
