Does Boma require park admission?

Hi all!

I'm doing our ADR's, and we've only got park hoppers for 5 out of 7 days.
One of our dinners is Boma, but we weren't planning on going into the parks that day. Will we waste one of our park admissions on that?

Thanks!

No, Boma does not require park admission. It is at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Enjoy! Boma is one of my favorite restaurants!

You will be fine - Boma is located at the Animal Kingdom lodge resort and not the actual Animal Kingdom park so you won't have to worry about needing a park ticket :thumbsup2

You may want to note that Animal Kingdom Lodge is not within walking distance of the Animal Kingdom Park; guests who are not familiar with the Lodge sometimes assume it is right next to the park. You'd have to take a bus from the AK park to get to the AK Lodge. For Boma, you want the Jambo House section, not Kidani Village, so make sure you know which section you're at when you get off the bus. If you are coming from another park, make sure you take the AK Lodge bus and not the AK Park bus. If you are coming from a resort and dont' have a car, you will need to take a bus to a park or Downtown Disney and switch to the AK Lodge bus.

if you are driving, is there a parking lot to park in even if you are not staying at that resort??? Is it a pain to drive and park there?

Yes it has a parking lot. Just tell the guard you have a reservation for dinner. Is it a pain? No more than anything else if you have a car, IMO, and definitely not if you're at AK. It's a lot more of a pain to get there from another resort without a car (like most resort to resort trips).

Be sure to arrive early(daylight) to walk around the resort and see all the animals. My fave spot is behind the jacuzzi's in the pool area-always lots of animals there:)

Thank you! Duly copied & pasted into my AK notes ;) We're going to have breakfast in AKP (Donald's Safari) and head to Boma for dinner after a day in AK park.

Good thing you asked the question. You would have wasted a lot of time looking for Boma at AL. Are you sure you know where your other ADRs are? We'd be happy to help.
